Location for visiting Neuschwanstein cannot be beat. It will spare you most of the walk up to it. The views from here are wonderful, especially in spring.

The place is "no frills," and has no real place to hang out after hours. Shared-bathroom rooms are fine, but a little inconvenient.

Everything was perfect. Perfect location right next to Neuschwanstein Castle. Room is very clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is great.

Only one thing, the location. Don't bother with the rest.

The greeting staff were rude. I sent many emails confirming our arrival and interest to have castle entry tickets purchased. Nothing was done. The staff are only interested in their well-being. In the morning for breakfast, we were the only ones there at 8.15am. Breakfast starts at 8am and we were told the staff were run off their feet and to come back in 1/2 an hour. I then caught them throwing snowballs at each other in the courtyard. Hmmmmm...... I do not recommend this place for Service, the only good thing is the location. I think there is a problem with staff morale. The Business Model needs a complete change. I have complete email Trails, photos and videos to back up this Review.

Excellent location, unbelievable possibility to walk around the castle in the evening and the morning! Very nice rooms and restaurant ! Separately, I want to thank you for your help in solving problems with my car and the very friendly attitude of all the staff

Superb location, absolutely best decision to stay here for one night. Allows you access to drive up the hill to park at the hotel (instead of having to park in the town at the bottom of the hill and hike up like everybody else!) Castle is visible from some hotel windows (right above us, a few minutes walk up the road so can easily beat crowds as well as see fabulous sunrise/sunset views). Room was very clean, shared bathrooms very clean, didn't need to wait, barely saw anybody, only 12 or so rooms. It was super quiet and peaceful, with carpet halls. Seemed quite cosy, room was very warm and minimal but sink in the bedroom was a great addition. We had to take two rooms (two adults/2 kids could't fit in one room, but so cheap it didn't matter).

The check-in period was 2-5pm which is exactly as it says. We arrived right before 5pm and the restaurant was shutting up and then it was a ghost town! LUCKY we made it! There wasn't any specific mention of a closing time, I just read the check-in hours on the booking. It was a shame we couldn't get food there after 5pm, so we had to drive back down to the town. Breakfast was continental so no hot food which was missed in winter! Also, the cereals weren't so great for kids - the muesli was full of chocolate and coco pops, aren't such great healthy options for kids. We couldn't fit in one room with 2 young kids, so had to book two rooms - minor issue - but not ideal for a family of two adults and two young children. Beds were okay but nothing amazing, my pillow wasn't great. My husband didn't like his mattress, but honestly, for the price and location, we were happy with it all and recommend it!

No lift in the building

The location was great. Room a reasonable size and clean. Shower and bathroom good. Breakfast was continental and limited but what there was was of a decent standard.

Resturant and everything else closes at 5pm so unless you want to eat dinner early you need to drive somewhere. No tea or coffee available in your room or anywhere else, for that you need to get in the car. No bar or lounge. No one available after 5pm at all.

Amazing location with Neuschwanstein castle sitting magnificently right behind the hotel - great spot for photos on the wall right behind the hotel (see photos) The hotel itself is basic, but nice & We knew we had to share bathroom facilities with others for our 2 rooms - couldn’t be happier with the cleanliness & ease of access for these facilities. You have a sink in your room to brush your teeth etc with. It’s an easy drive to Fussen in the evening. There are clearly far more upmarket place’s around, however none have Neuschwanstein on its back door step. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

What you have to be prepared for is driving up to the hotel dodging all the other people walking up & down to the castle - a two min drive up takes 10m. Not a big deal but something you should be aware of.

The location, just 3 min to the castle entrance. Room tidy and nice. Acceptable breakfast.

The hotel is right next to the castle, you can see it from your bedroom window.

The bottom sheet was very rough, I had to sleep on the duvet.

The rooms were clean and cute. Perfect location since I am 8 months pregnant and I avoided the long hike to the Castle.

The entire ground floor should be renovated soon, to achieve the standards of the castle‘s hotel and restaurant. Breakfast was not okay, it needs more variety and class. Don‘t use google maps to locate the hotel! 😏

Close proximity to Neuschwanstein Castle was a real plus. Amazing breakfast too.

Their Internet Service was rather poor. Very little Signal if and when we were able to connect.

Location is perfect; you do not have to walk all the way up to the Neuschwanstein Castle and you can see the castle from nearby in the evening. Room is okey, breakfast is fine personnel is very friendly.

When having a hotel so close at a castle and paying enough for the room, perhaps an idea to offer guests, coffee, tea or at least a bottle of water on the room. Restaurant closed much earlier than 17:00 hours and after the restaurant is closed you cannot get anything anymore. A machine where you can get a drink or a snack could also be an idea. Smell of cigarettes outside the rooms is not nice either.

Our favorite thing was the location but when we arrived we and saw our rooms we were delighted.

We could not get in touch with anyone when we tried calling on our way to them. I wish they had rooms with private bathrooms available.

good location, can visit schloss areas multiple times in a day for fotos, easy parking.

bfast was nearly no service, staff dissappeared after setting our table despite only 4-5 couples staying over that wkend, hv to search fr the staff if we want extra bread or top up coffee, no egg options, only ready boiled eggs possible.

The staff were nice and the location was perfect, short walk to the castle. The room was comfortable and the restaurant had really good tasting food at Fantastic prices. It's a perfect place to stay if you just want to see the castle.

This hotel is more of a Bed and Breakfast or guesthouse. There was no dedicated reception area.

We had car troubles and arrived late. I called to let them know of our late arrival time and they were very accommodating. Excellent place to stay!
