Hostal El Callejón does exactly what it says on the tin. It is a 2* hostel. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and comfortable. The staff were efficient and courteous. The location is perfect. It is tucked away off the Via Augusta, but within 5 minutes drive of the centre of Tarragona. There is a bus stop right opposite the entrance. The beach is 3 minutes walk, with relaxed chiringuitos serving good food and drink. Best of all, the hosts allow well-behaved humans to accompany their pets

Love the location and it could not be any cleaner. It is always spotless with lovely bed linen. It is such a good stop off en route to Spain and has very secure parking. It is also pet friendly with an enclosed garden for dogs to run around in. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room, while small, was warm and welcoming.

That twice I have stayed and the breakfast room still was not open at 8am as posted. I waited until 9am. Both Sundays I was there. Then was obliged to leave my room key on the bed as there was no drop box to leave ii and no one came when I rang for them. So if breakfasts are not available on Sundays, perhaps they should say so.

Parking absolutely fine, location good and bed comfortable. Curtains were perfect and blacked out the room. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The shower hot water (which was on powered by on demand gas according staff) kept going hot and cold, I reported it in morning and they said I could change rooms and they would need to replace the faucet mixer, unfortunately as I was staying only one night it didn't help. (yet how could I fault that level of service?). The breakfast was nice and could have been better, I could hear noise from adjacent rooms.

Friendliness of most of staff and available map of area for the evening but there was a mis communication on how and where we could take our pet during our stay.

The staff were very polite and helpful. Car🚗parking was good. Place was easy to find.

Well the hot water was non existent, neither in the evening nor morning, so we didn't have a shower & it's cold in late January. The noise transmission from other rooms was unbelievable, also from the nearby train line, I heard every single train that passed, then to cap it all , I heard a local dog endlessly barking most of the evening. The other thing was the central heating I believe was hot air, & the fan noise throughout the night woke me up on several occasions, on / off all night. Not our cup of tea.

Price, location (easy to find within walking to historic centre 15 minutes and 5 minutes to beach), supermarkets within 1-2 blocks, quiet, free secure parking. Note: Take the street entrance beside the Nuria Hotel as it’s not as narrow and access to parking easier.

Cold. Heating suboptimal. Although not an issue for me, you do hear the train.

We were only here one night so can't comment much on the facilities. Free parking is a bonus if you have a car, wifi was good and you have your own private bathroom. Shower took a while to heat up but water does get hot. Was about a 20 minute walk into town centre to garden and amfiteatre. Okay place to stay for the night if you're in the area

The hotel where no one smiled! Very efficient check in but a notice stated he was there not to have a conversation but to work. Not made to feel welcome at all. Strange

The guy in reception was very kind and allowed us to have an early check in and really helped us.

advertised AC but it was controlled by the host and only on for a few hours in the afternoon. basically ineffective. Included breakfast was sparse.

No kettle in room for a cuppa. Shower leaked into main bedroom but we left before reception opened at 8am. Very dated and room massively too hot and stuffy. Didn't feel very welcome on arrival.
