Great location with everything in walking distance. breakfast buffet is quite big and diverse. Room was quite big and interior had a very authentic and unique design. Not the usual boring mainstream hotel design.

We asked for check-in between 18:00 and 19:00. It said on the website it would only be possible until 18:00 but we hoped for flexibility but did not notice the request was declined (first time ever someone did that on booking.com to me in 15 years). We arrived 18:45 and when reaching the receptionist got a short grumpy reply that they left already and we are "blocking" a room since the morning. After multiple apologies from our side the agreed to drop the key in a safe key at the front door for us to pick up (Why not in the first place?!?) We went for dinner in the meantime, customer service should look different

Very friendly employee, clean room, nice location and beautiful hotel.

The bed was very very small, im 190cm and was to big to sleep comfortably in the bed.

The breakfast was rich with choices, excellent. The room was spacious and decorated with many artistic details, small statues and paintings, lamps etc. The water flow in the kitchen corner was very weak, but shower was OK in that sense and otherwise, too. Bed was wide and good. All and all the room was a part of a very old building so we did not expect it to be very modern. The kitchen was modern, though. Did not need that for more than heating water for tea and washing dishes.

There could have been a small selection of tea and coffee available. TV channels should have been listed, now BBC World was nr 80 and CNN 84. A lot of channel surfing needed. The staff was very strict about corona cautions. A bit of humour or understanding, that tourist did not understand German language so well would have been appreciated. On the other hand the attitude of the "general" might include a bit humour as well. I could manage with that.

The location, and the nearby parking at a reduced rate were both good reasons why we chose to stay at this property. Stralsund had a special event with Military re-enactments taking place throughout the city during our stay, and many of the participants were staying here also, so we were able to learn more about the event during breakfast conversations.

During check-out, the female working the front desk, who I had not seen during our first two days here, asked if I had moved my car from the garage to the street in front. (I assumed the question, since it was spoken in German). I indicated that I moved it from the garage to the parking courtyard, (where we had previously been told to access our room on foot when the lobby was closed). I was immediately scolded in several rapid-fire sentences in German, and the scolding was not necessary or welcomed. Since parking on the street would have involved blocking a lane or parking on the sidewalk, I did the logical thing, and I was not blocking any vehicles in the courtyard area. Additionally, there were no signs indicating that bringing our car in to the courtyard where we were advised to walk, would interfere with anyone. She needs to either make sure that customers are advised against using the courtyard as a loading zone, or chill out and understand that not everyone appreciates being talked to like a disobedient school child.

The room was excellent. And all the interior was lovely and beautiful. All selected with love.

Historic building with individual and stunning rooms, done up with love, exceptional breakfast. The staff is always keen on helping. We liked the whole atmosphere of this wonderful house. Absolutely worth visiting.
