The hotel itself and the area around it is beautiful, I had a room with a view of the ocean. A large selection of different things in the breakfast buffet as well.

While the location looks nice, it is a bit far from downtown Shimoda where all the restaurants are. There is a shuttle bus, but the timetable does not cover the evening, which means a 30 minute walk.

Would have liked a double or queen sized bed instead of two singles as requested

Comfortable, good standard, very good breakfast. Location is beautiful, but after the last shuttle, you either walk 20min or take a taxi.

The view and the location are outstanding, the hotel has a very nice park and and good access to the sea. The lobby and the hotel restaurant are high class as well - we enjoyed our stay a lot.

The onsen is outdated, should have renovation. I was even missing a cold bath in the onsen. The bathrooms are kind of outdated as well - a bathtub with a curtain is not any more state of the art for such kind of hotel category.

Amazing hotel, the view from the room is superb! The staff was very nice and helpful, especially the concierge who speaks really good English. Afternoon tea is to die for! The hotel is on top of the hill, so a bit far from the city, but the hotel has a shuttle bus that can take you wherever you need to go and the taxi is cheap.

it is on top of a hill, an excellent location overlooking the bay, the ocean and the islands. it is close to a natural walk along the coast watching waves hitting the rocks and walking to the aquarium, Shimoda park and all tourist attractions. room was clean and updated with lots of amenities. Breakfast was good quality with lots of choices. Staffs were super friendly and helpful. I’ll be back next time for a longer stay.

not much to complain except it’s on top of a hill which you either need a car or take the shuttle. Walking is good exercise!

Stunning ocean views from my room. Excellent breakfast and dinner options. Exceptionally attentive and experienced hotel staff. Lots of scenic walking paths to explore and photograph. Quiet and serene area.

Hotel is way out of it's way and driving to it is a daunting task with winding roads and tolls that don't do ETC 2.0 (hence cash is needed).

You must choose an ocean-view room. In winter, the run rise is around 6:30-7:00 so you have a good chance to see it with no effort to wake up early. It's stunning.

The dinner in the hotel restaurant is overpriced. You can find some quality foods easily in downtown Shimoda.

Best location, the sea view room is perfect, but unfortunately we went on a very typhoon day so weather was quite bad

No public space to sit, particularly as the hotel is isolated. Lounge area remained close, no bar and restaurant closed at 8pm.

i love the property over all, the free pool and beach is near, the beautiful view, friendly staff, neat and clean rooms, children friendly hotel!
