Lovely peaceful place! Fantastic for couples to get away and its not far from York town centre! Would differently recommend staying here and we would return if staying in York again! :)

We really enjoyed our stay in the Suffolk shepherd hut. The location is outstanding situated just outside of York within a short drive to the shuttle bus service into York city centre. The hut itself is very well equipped essentially everything you could possibly need for a long weekend utensils for preparing meals etc.. The overall feel of the place is amazing. The BBQ outside which doubles up as a fire pit which we used along with the log burner are also nice additions! We also enjoyed the alpacas which were nearby in their field. The owner allowed us to go over with her to feed them. To close we really enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to rebooking in the not too distant future.

It was perfect! Beautiful little hut, private, gorgeous setting, and waking up to a field of alpacas was definitely something we won't forget! Clean, tidy and all the facilities we needed. Absolutely wonderful, can't say enough about this place!

This accommodation is 5 star all the way. All instructions and organisation is first class.

This escape has everything you need. Peace, views, comfort. They have thought about every nuck and cranny - giving a sense of home from home but with additional comforts! Sweet to arrive to hen’s roaming the grounds and also an offering to help yourself to their eggs they lay to cook up a beautiful breakfast. The log burner and fire pits are wonderful. The bed is an absolute dream to lay on. There’s no one thing they’ve missed in terms of amenities. We would return in a flash. Lovely and can’t thank the owners enough.

How peaceful it was and how lovely decorated it was like a home from home, the bed and pillows was so comfy just like our bed at home. Loved the fact that chickens we’re just wondering around when they got let out, quite friendly and not scared of anything just walks straight into the hut

What an amazing place. High standard of accommodation no expense spared the views and tranquility are amazing. Can’t say enough about it a lovely village aswell although the fat Abbot pub was full it looked great and we will be back to try it.

There was nothing to dislike

I loved every moment of our stay in the Suffolk hut, we stayed for a whole week. When we arrived I was amazed at the little touches, from the sheep on the keyring, sheep pillows, blinds and art to the egg hut on site which had fresh eggs everyday. We were only a email away from the owner for anything and everything, I emailed her on our first night to see if the alpaca walks were still being offered. I got a reply ASAP to say that because of the baby she didn't want to separate the herd but she was more than happy to arrange for us to see the animals when she fed them on the first morning, we met the alpacas, pony, horse and some very inquisitive chickens. She was more than happy to answer any questions about them all and to hear that she had rescued alot of her animals pulled on my heart strings. We had daily visits from Mia the chicken checking if we liked her daily fresh eggs her and the other chickens produced for us. The hut itself was beautifully presented; clean, cosy and equipped with everything we would need. I paid for the romantic package which included some magnificent towel folding into two beautiful swans, pettles sprinkled on the bed and a bottle of processco in the fridge. I also bought the fire package so we could have a bonfire outside on a night. All through the stay the hut was cosy warm so we had the doors and windows open which let in a beautiful breeze and we could hear the animals, it was tranquil and relaxing. We spend every night by the fire outside listening to Casper the horse neighing and watching the alpacas. The view was wonderful. I will 100% be recommending to others and will definitely be staying again.

It was lovely to sit & eat fresh laid eggs for breakfast whilst watching the alpacas! Such a quiet location with the added bonus of not being too far to the Park & Ride for York. The hut was immaculate-the cleanest self-catering accommodation we've ever stayed in!
