Excellent location, large room with nice shower, excellent value for money!

Lovely locaton right in the old town. Host was very friendly. Bed was comfortable. It was certainly great value for money.

This is an exceptional property in a beautiful old building. The room had such character and charm, beautifully finished. The shower was powerful, and the bed was comfortable. The room had air conditioning and tea and coffee facilities. The location is perfect , just off a small square which has nice restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay here again. A+++

Really nothing. There is no parking, but I knew that in advance, and the owner provided two nearby options within walking distance.

The Chambre de charme au coeur du vieux is located within the historical centre of Valence, in a quiet square close to Place des Clercs. There are several bars and restaurants located nearby. It is convenient for travelling by public transport and is less than 10 mins walk from Gare de Valence Ville. The apartment is spacious and is very tastefully furnished. It is an excellent place to stay for a night or two to explore Valence, or for an overnight stop-off on a longer journey.

There are only a few minor disadvantages. The apartment is upstairs, with no lift available (which wasn't an issue for me). The entrance to the apartment is quite small with limited room for the kettle, micowave, coffee machine and a small table. There are no views from the windows.

An Amazing place, really beautiful, cozy, artistic decoration.

Nothing really. As so often in southern Europe the bed linen consists of single sheets with a blanket in between, but that’s more of a general / cultural thing. Everything was super clean & fresh, and the towels were thick and nice! :-)

The house where the flat is central in the town of Valence. The bed is large and there is a good shower.

It was difficult to communicate with the hosts before arriving and they were quite unfriendly. It was strictly forbidden to walk around in the room with normal shoes. It was also a disappointment that couldn't cook, even an egg.

Eveything was perfect

As a couple, the shower in the room with transparent glasses was not a problem, but it could be uncomfortable if we were friends or a family with kids. Maybe a solution like a curtain could be fine.

We loved the room, so much atmosphere and really nice decor. It feels cozy and taken care of. Very clean, lot's of nice extra's: a small fridge, plates, cups, cutlery, coffee machine with plenty of coffee, kettle and biological tea, just really nice and very good value for money. The steps from the parking to the house were not as bad as I envisioned them. Parking was very spacious with plenty spots available and also cheap (you don't pay from 7pm until 9am but we arrived earlier so had to pay. Good thing is you can pay forward to the next day so you don't have to be at the machine at 9am but can pay up until 11 and sleep in - I think a total of five hours cost us Euro 3,50). Very central for restaurants and shops and the square and church are beautiful. Breakfast is not included anymore, but there is a lovely boulangerie not too far from the house. We received the code to get in and were absolutely fine with not having someone there to wait for us; messages we sent were answered very swiftly so communication was perfect.

As in the center and close to restaurants and bars, people walk over the small square to get home and can be loud at times. My partner didn't sleep super good because of this. The toilet having a sliding door only and the shower being in the room you have to feel comfortable enough with your travel partner. The floorboards are very squeaky, logical but something to take into consideration with light sleepers.

Very good location in the center of Valence next to the cathedral and museum of Valence. Secure bicycle storage in locked room. Very close to numerous good restaurants.

Check in is via messaging app to get the door code and access to the key. There may be nobody on site to help. This is a B&B apartment in an older building with no lift so for those challenged by stairs, be aware.

A great big, spacious room right in the heart of the Old town of Valence. Very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Excellent value for money

the room was very comfortable and they had been honest about the parking. we didn’t actually meet anyone as we had instructions about how to obtain the key and gain access. instructions were clear and we had no problem.

obviously private parking would have been best as we were very lucky to get a parking space in the public car park, but we did so we were ok.

Location and quality of the room

Great location, easy to access with the host. Very comfortable and the little kitchen is perfect for breakfast - the shower was a bit of a surprise! We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our short stop in Valence.

Everything was very good, owner/staff was very nice and check-in super easy. Very cosy, spacious and warm room. In the heart of the old town with numerous cafés, restaurant and bars, still very calm. Close-by free parking was great. Coffee and tea in the room a nice surprise. We were travelling with our two dogs who also felt very comfortable. Valence was a very nice place in general.
