Not very clean

my family spent one night at Villa Margarita and absolutely enjoyed our stay! The owner, Margarita, is a joy to talk to. We enjoyed a dinner she prepared for as, and loved the breakfast served. Four wonderful dogs were very friendly and entertaining! Great place to stop if you need to spend a night by the airport.

Good location - 20 min from the airport, yet quiet and in nature! Very friendly host, helped us with all questions and information. Great room, bathroom. Friendly and cute dogs :) nice garden, free parking.

The perfect location for a stopover coming form the SJ airport. We had such a lovely time here, the host just makes you feel right at home (& she - as she already predicted - made the best coffee we had on our entire trip).

Where to start? The place is conveniently located for the airport, the grounds are just beautiful, the pool open at all times (had a lovely night swim under the stars, seeing San Jose's lights twinkle in the background behind the palm trees), room is big and comfy, bathroom looks new, breakfast is delicious - but best of all is possibly Margarita herself. Just soo lovely and helpful!! She won't have it that you waste money on Poas covered in clouds - you see it from her grounds and if clear in the morning you book, and only then! 'House taxi driver' Carlos takes you, waits patiently, and takes you back....

Our flight was delayed so we didn’t not arrive until late in the night, but Margarita was so kind and made us a quick bite to eat. Breakfast was also delicious! While we were only there for one night, Villa Margarita was a great beginning to our 10 day trip in Costa Rica.

We knew there wasn’t going to be AC, which is always kind of a bummer for a couple of Texans, BUT we slept just fine with the windows open. It got surprisingly cool at night!

Margarita was a delightful host! pampered us and made us feel like guests or family, not customers. beds were comfortable. breakfast was amazing!!

The bedding was clean but shabby. could be updated. The shower was confusing and gave me some trouble turning it off.

Loved the overall layout and the way Margarita was so helpful. Everything was perfect for our family aged from 17 to 83. The pancakes were incredible!

Margarita was amazing. Very accommodating!! Went out of her way to make us comfortable and made sure our short stay was outstanding.

Villa Margarita exceeded our expectations largely due to the fabulous host and beautiful gardens. We had thought our time in San Jose would be just a stop-off on our way to the airport but we fell in love with the place. Margarite went above and beyond to help in anyway she could, the rooms were spacious and clean, and we spent a great deal of time bird watching in the garden as well as enjoying the pool. The dogs were very friendly and the staff lovely. Fabulous breakfasts. It was so lovely to meet you Margarite - thank you for having us! we will be recommending to friends and family.

the owner Margarita was amazing. Constant contact and even cooked us a late dinner since our plane was delayed.

Super convenient location 10 minutes away from SJO airport. The villa is beautiful and rustic and Margarita is an amazing host. She has 3 really nice dogs and some beautiful cats as well. The breakfast was amazing, best gallo pinto I had during my entire trip. The rooms and clean and cozy and the bed was huge. Very comfortable and quiet at night. The best part of the stay was getting to talk to Margarita. She is an exceptional host, a super inspiring lady and extremely nice. She even made us welcome drinks right when we arrived and made us feel at home. Highly recommend. Thank you Margarita!

The property is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious, with a comfy bed and pillows. Everything was super clean. Margarita is the sweetest host! She is warm and personable and really goes above and beyond to make her guests comfortable. And she made me some yummy beans and rice, and smoothies for me during my stay. I will definitely be returning for a stay in the future at Villa Margarita — this will be my new go-to spot in San Jose. Thanks for everything, Margarita :)

Rustic, unique rooms, lovely grounds, and an extremely welcoming host! The friendly dogs and cats were a particular attraction for my animal-loving kids

It was a little difficult to find but otherwise I have nothing negative to say!
