Nancy was very responsive and the house was great for our group

My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We wanted to do something together with our children and grandchildren. 14 people total. This house had plenty of room for all of us. Conveniently located. Just one block from the beach. Also boat docking behind home. Easy access to the bay.

Perfect place for a large group of people who do not need a fancy house. Nancie was wonderful to work with and incredibly responsive.

Was very concerned based on previous reviews. We were happy when we arrived. It is a beach house and what we expected. It accommodated our needs just fine. It is a great location and loved the outdoor yard!

The location of the house was perfect for a vacation but the house was horrific. The smell of urine and cigarettes was gross. I felt like I was walking into a frat house. There was vomit found under the bed, stains on all bedding and beds, stains on walls, ceiling and floors. All of the beds in the house were unsafe and extremely poor. The ceilings had cracks and mold. The spiral staircase was held together by duct tape. If you are planning on going in the bay to kayak or boat the house has no access unless you climb the fence. Grilling is also out of the question unless you purchase your own propane. Owner was rude when we approached her about our concerns. And FIY lots of broken glass around the outside of the house. We had one child in urgent care. Don’t waste your money and this should be removed as a listing. Dangerous and unsafe!

The interior of this house needs repair work, a full top-to-bottom deep clean, and a furniture update before it is fit to be rented to families. When we arrived, we were met with the following state of the house: There is a layer of grime on just about everything, with most windowsills and surfaces outside of the kitchen appearing not to have been cleaned in some time. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we first opened it and smelled horrible. There are food crumbs, whole pieces of snackfood, and trash (empty beer bottles, soda cans, water bottles, food wrappers) throughout the bedrooms; it looks like the furniture has not been moved and cleaned under or around in...years?. The couches have food and trash in and under them, it doesn't look like anyone has lifted the cushions to clean in some time. Most of the bed frames had food stuck between the mattress and frame, and one bed even had peanuts in it - my family has two members with severe peanut allergies so this could have been a very serious problem had others in our family not seen this first. The wallpaper is peeling and stained with splashes of drinks or worse; there are holes in the walls; and mold and water stains on several of the ceilings. The bedroom carpets have major stains. The kitchen shelves and pantries have food that expired years ago sitting in them, and are so full of dishes that there is nowhere to unpack food. There was a tube sock over one of the smoke alarms. The interior stairs were caked in sticky grime, and the staircase handrail for the steep staircase is duct-taped on. This property may get a cursory cleaning between renters, but no one is coming through to assess for real cleaning needs or damage, and it appears to been rented to partiers who have left it in bad condition. The amount of space would be nice for a family stay, but it is largely filthy and needs repair. The only positives we found about the property are a nice outdoor patio and a walkable distance (less than 2 blocks) to the beach. The owner was responsive over email when we raised these many concerns at the beginning of our stay, and sent someone to fix a broken gate, but did not address the many issues with cleanliness that this house has, much less the state of the property overall. I would absolutely not recommend renting this property until the owner has provided proof of significant cleaning and overhaul repairs to the interior. Do not be fooled!

My family has used Home Away and VRBO for vacation rentals many times over the past 10+ years with great success. Never a complaint until now. This house was the perfect location and size for 17 adults, a 7 year old boy and two dogs for the early June Assateaque Island wedding of my son and daughter-in-law. However, the cleanliness and maintenance lacked. There were cobwebs, dust bunnies and dirt built up everywhere. Remnants of past renters were found on bathroom walls (toothpaste or shaving cream), around furniture (partially empty drink containers and food wrappers), chairs in disrepair in the dining areas both inside and out, broken toilet seats in two bathrooms and the stairway hand rail was not repaired properly and could be dangerous if a person was not careful. The dirt and disrepair was not expected based on the $300 cleaning fee and our entire party agreed if there was more attention paid to cleaning and maintenance this property would be beautiful. I hope the owner is able to make the changes necessary to make this rental the showplace is has the potential to be.

Nancie was a good host who responded quickly to any messages and was very accommodating to my group.

A lot of deferred maintenance made our stay uncomfortable at times. The outside deck needs alot of attention. Many tripping hazards.Cleaning crew could do a better job. We found empty beer cans behind a bed along with a old water bottle and dirty tissues. There was spilled coffee on one of the bedroom floors. Outdoor deck and grounds had trash in many places. Wifi did not work the whole time we were there. Our grandson who does IT called the number left and it still didnt work. We had to use a hot spot to get anything working.There was not a big enough space for all of us to sit comfortably, without sitting at a kitchen table.It was close enough to the beach and the neighborhood was quiet.The maintenance man was prompt in fixing the broken fence and returned after the storm to see how the property fared.

Good size for family. GREAT location. Well equipped. Property needs deep cleaning and some TLC. On site maintenance man was terrific. Back deck had holes that were not good for little feet.

Location great, one block to the beach and you can get anything you’d need with a 10-15 minute drive. Beach was very nice and overall the property fit my groups needs almost perfectly. Only downsides were that there was a very strong smell throughout the upstairs of the house upon checking-in and the house could use a deep cleaning. Would recommend to any group.
