Good. Lots of room. Unfortunately there was no AC and the area had record hogh temp.

We always look for a house that has separate bedrooms and living room space for teenagers and adults. This one fit the bill.

This was our second time staying here and we loved it just as much as the first. Tons of room, games for the kids, pool table, sauna, stocked kitchen. What isn't to like about this property. Will be staying here again in the future for sure.

Lovely stay during the extreme snow event of 2023. This home is well up the mountain from the lake but with many homes in that area. While 4 wheel drive is recommended in the winter the roads and driveway were incrediblely well maintained. The owner makes the garage available so our cars were warm and dry. The home very well equiped and maintained and quite roomy. Great for family groups will a great play room for the kids. The kitchen and living room were also great and comportable for us adults. Thank you to the hosts and rental service company who present and responsive to our calls.

House was juat what we needed for 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 young ones in bunkbeds. Our only problem was all the unleashed dogs. 1, known as Merlin, chased and scared my little granddaughter. Not happy about all the dogs running loose. Besides that, it was a wonderful vacation home.

Very nice house, confortable, great social areas, too bad we couldn’t use the BBQ in the terrace. Kitchen very well equipped, very good utensils, cutlery and glassware, makes a difference when cooking, drinking a good wine or mixing your favorite drink.

This home was beautiful and much larger in person. It had all of the amenities, games, and a fully stocked kitchen. It’s a quick drive to Palisades and downtown Tahoe city. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. Check in and check out were super easy and I will definitely plan on staying here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Good location and has good amenities overall. We had a good time! Some things that we realized after booking: 1. There’s a separate check in process that requires downloading a separate app 2. I wish the listing explained what cleaning items are covered and what not on Vrbo so guests know what to expect upfront. We paid for hundreds for cleaning fee but were still requested doing quite some cleaning per rental instructions. This includes running the first load of bed sheets. 3. It’s hard to know if the blankets on the sofas and the beds are cleaned. 4. One of the bedrooms is right next to the garage which we didn’t realize. People would need to walk through the bedroom to get to public area to avoid heavy snow at the front door. That said we still had a good weekend at the rental. We quite enjoyed the sauna and playing pool.

Fabulous home! Great location. We especially loved the kitchen, pool table, games and sauna. Crazy the amount of snow right now. I was bummed to hear there was a neighbor complaint about using the driveway to turn around. We’re a very respectful family, so that was odd. I’m guessing there’s a history there. That doesn’t take away from our wonderful experience there though. Thank you again!

This house was perfect for our family with teenage kids. There is a huge rec room with a pool table downstairs where we spent hours. The house was located in a nice quiet neighborhood for walks.

wonderful house. kitchen was very well stocked with everything you might need. pool table was a big plus. definitely need 4wd vehicle if it snows.

I really love this place, so cozy and nice! My husband and I took kids and mom to spend a weekend there, we had a great time! Maybe English isn’t my first language, I don’t know how to express, all I can say this place is really clean, organized and really really cozy! Easy to find, great location as well. Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at this home. Wonderful quiet neighborhood with views of the lake. It's some distance from Tahoe City, not walkable. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We were here on a very hot weekend and the house has no AC. There are fans that keep it barely livable during the day and comfortable at night. Home needs new pillows and linens, but otherwise a very nice place for a family getaway.

Reviewer Comments: We rented Challies Chalet for 10 days in July, 2022 because we had previously owned a home in Talmont approximately 3 blocks away from Challies Chalet and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the Paige meadows trails, and the Tahoe Park HOA beach that comes with the houses in that neighborhood. This is an older house with 3 bedrooms and a huge recreation/family room with pool table and sauna. The master bedroom is large, but the other 2 bedrooms are very small, one being a bunkbed room that has approximately 3 feet between the beds. The street is quiet and borders the Paige meadows wilderness. We enjoyed our stay but would like to advise future renters about a serious issue with the neighbor across the street. Within 5 minutes of arriving he was telling my wife to move her car, that it was parked in front of his driveway, when it was actually parked in front of a conservancy lot (permanently preserve open space) that he had created an illegal dirt driveway on without a curb cut and was driving all his trucks and equipment over to get to the dirt behind his house. This neighbor also had a large snow clearing bulldozer blade parked permanently in the street by his house. The 4th night we were there we had dinner on our deck in the front of the house with our friends who were staying in another cabin in the HOA development. We are all in our 60s and are doctors and health professionals. The neighbor called the property manager at 9 pm to complain about the noise we were making, which was absurd, we were simply barbecuing and eating dinner outside from 7-9pm. He also complained about the cars parked on the street by our friends. According to the property manager (Tahoe Rental Company) there was a law passed in the last 60 days making illegal to park on the street if the house is a short term rental. Another issue with the property management company was they insisted I pay $100 for a broken ceramic horse on the book shelve that was broken when we arrived.

I would have the owners clear out a couple of cabinets so that the renter could put their groceries away. There is absolutely no space other than that all was great.

This is a beautiful house in a quiet, very nice part of town at a higher elevation. The listing is managed by the very professional Tahoe rentals group for which I have only the nicest things to say. The property itself is well maintained, has abundant kitchen supplies and utensils and high quality cookware and appliances.

There is enough of a slope and enough room to sled on the side of the house. The street to get to the house is really steep 12% grade so might be a problem for people without 4 wheel drive. There is a sign that says chains recommended if snowing or icy. But not deal breaker just have to be really careful in the snow (duh lol) we really enjoyed the house. The sauna and pool table were great and overall the house is in great shape with good furnishings. I had read on other reviews where people complained about toilet paper and paper towels not being enough for a long stay and they start you with 2 extra rolls in each bathroom. we brought extra paper towels and just ended up taking a roll of tp for one of the lesser used bathroom. More tp would be nice for longer stays but we did have enough for 6 people and 5 days. 6 days would have been ify. Kitchen was very well stocked lots of spices and nice plates cups etc. there was also a mixer and a crock pot. I would stay here again. We really enjoyed the quiet street and went for a lot of walks. 8 mins to save mart and lots of nice places to eat close by. (8-10 min) also lots of books and games. The only thing i disliked was the heat control. the themostat in the master bedroom controls the back of the house, upstairs and downstairs (master bedroom and game room) and took a while to get the downstairs warm without cooking in the bedroom. But we got it figured out. The only other thing would be i would like to see some better pots and pans, we made everything work of course but some new pans would be nice. great trip and we cant wait to be there again. thank you for sharing your house with us.

Great spot, clean and comfortable.

House had everything you could want or need. The kids (ages 11-17) loved having their own floor with pool table and living area. Would definitely recommend.
