Bit dated

It was convenient.

It was problems from the minute we arrived. We were meant to get a map before we arrived but never came through with our booking. So had problem finding the apartment. When we got into the room the glass shower and shattered. and there was glass everywhere. We had to move to a different apartment and then move back the next day. That day we had workmen in and out of our room for most of the afternoon. We were trying to get a rest. No Air conditioning, we had two fans but they didn’t help. Very uncomfortable.

Southernwood is walking distance to Didcot Parkway which was what I wanted. Also very close to shops. There was a nest of birds of prey on the property, it was beautiful.

The location was great, perfect for families. Also the actual set out of the sheds looked very good. Think we just caught them on a bad day.

I had phoned the number given to me. She had said to look at the map given because it was too confusing to explain. However the room was labeled under something else so had to go around every room with the code to see if it opened. The kitchen accessories was dirty, had left over food on the tea towel. No cleaning things was left behind for myself to even clean the room and my son has athsma who is now off school due to dust allergies a day after our stay. Wasn't told to bring shower gels ect as for the price I thought it would come with the stay but had to go to a local shop to buy everything needed. Also labeled as bed and breakfast and that wasn't received in the morning. The owners never come to check once but this may of been due to the fact there was rowing in the car park with other customers early in the morning.

Easy to locate and to check in. Lovely area and so close to local amenities. Lovely little lodge With everything we needed for our over night stay. Would definitely go back again.

Just found curtains to main doors let in to much light in the morning as two beds face the doors.
