We had a great week at Dean's. The house is just like the pictures. Perfect for a family stay. Very well equipped and the garden is large and safe for children. The donkeys will keep the kids happy while you lounge on the patio. The village of Wakefield is really charming and has everything we need within a 10 minute drive. The beaches are 15 minutes away and are superb. For paddle boarders, there's a calm lake just a 2-minute drive away. Newport is a beautiful town 30 minutes away. We loved our stay and will return one day! Dean is very kind and helpful and always responds quickly if we have any questions. Thanks again for everything Dean. Emma misses Jake and Duke very much

Nancy and Deans cottage was a wonderful place to stay during our recent Rhode Island vacation. The detached cottage has a great layout and was cozy while at the same time allowing our family to stretch out. The kids loved greeting the donkeys and the geese in the morning and generally exploring the grounds. And the location close to Wakefield, several beaches and Newport was a big plus. Our only issue was that it seemed like the cottage was hurriedly cleaned after the previous stay and we found it a little rough around the edges when it came to clean counters, etc. Not that it was dirty, just not as crisp as we have experienced at other stays. Nancy and Dean were very hospitable however and let us know they were around if we needed anything, but also giving us full privacy during our stay. We would certainly come back and look forward to an opportunity to do so.

Relaxing mornings waking up to the friendly donkeys and comical geese. Beaches all afternoon with either side of the salt pond easily accessible. Great dinners at night, restaurants or eating in. The hosts were very prompt when we asked about anything. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this immaculate and peaceful property which was thoughtfully furnished with modern appliances and everything we needed. The comfiest beds! Property is perfectly situated just minutes from area attractions and beaches. We loved meeting all the sweet animals too! Thank you so much for your hospitality, we definitely hope to return.

We had a great stay! Dean and Nancy were very responsive and helpful! Their cottage was perfect for our family as we were there to watch our son play college summer baseball. It was quiet and secluded yet close to Old Mountain field and to the beach, and about a half hour from Newport. The cottage is furnished nicely and was equipped with everything we needed, from pots and pans to beach chairs!

I stayed in July with my family of four. That included little boys. They had a great time meeting the donkeys. The hosts were friendly and inviting and the property was clean and tidy. There are gooses on the property that can get a little noisy but they didn't bother me very much. The cabin is a short drive to the major beaches. Although I found the state beaches easier to access than the town beach due to parking and suggest going in the morning as opposed to waiting for the afternoon. Overall I would highly recommend this property. We had a great time. It's a super cute little cabin.

Very nice place and close to everything.

This is our second time and had another wonderful mini vacation. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. My girls and the dog had so much fun with all the animals. Location is perfect- right by the beaches, great restaurants and activities. Cant wait to go back!

Dean’s place was peaceful and quiet. Very convenient location, 10 mins from the beach. We enjoyed the adorable animals; donkey, mule, geese and friendly cats each day. As a family of 3, the cottage was a good size, might be a little small for a larger family.

This is my second time staying at this property and it was another perfect trip! The location could not be better and the house itself is wonderful - fully stocked kitchen, great outdoor space (with animals!) and ample parking. We love that the cottage is pet friendly as well :) Can't wait to return again!

We are from the area but now live out of town, so we can attest to the location! Great spot. Nice, private cottage on the property, lovely farm. House itself had everything we needed and was nicely appointed. Will definitely rent again if we have the need!

I would had given this place a 10! The house is so nice I love the post and beam the farm animals are cute and the location was fine! This house sits behind the property owners home but there is plenty of privacy. The house looked tidy but the kitchen was not clean. The stove top was filthy as well as the coffee pot and the sink. First night there I cleaned the entire kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with bare essentials with no pantry items just some spices. A/c units would not work. I don’t know why? The main bed was foam mattress on a metal frame.. not for me and the other bed handmade with mattress on a sheet of plywood. No sofa to watch TV just an uncomfortable futon. So for us is was not cozy and comfy. In conclusion it would be perfect with some comfy furniture and beds. We decided to spend the second night at home!

Quite farm setting. Enjoyed donkey and mule that could be viewed from the porch. Our granddaughter liked feeding them carrots.

We live in NYC and wanted a quiet place to relax for a week. This cottage was perfect. Denis & Nancy are excellent hosts. They keep 2 cats, 2 donkeys, 2 geese and 5 chickens. (Yes - we did get some fresh from the nest eggs!) Our 2 cats loved running around the yard and napping on the deck. We spent a lot of time on the back deck. Ended up extending our stay one more night - we just weren't ready to leave! We would stay here again.

We had such a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Dean and Nancy were so welcoming. We enjoyed visiting with the mule, donkey, cats and geese. Our dog enjoyed it as well and made friends with Duke. Great location - close to beaches and great restaurants too! Thank you for such a nice week- didn’t want to keave :)

The little cottage was perfect for our getaway. loved the donkey's Duke and Jack the geese were hysterical. very comfortable beautiful kitchen. enjoyed waking up every morning and seeing the animals including wildlife like deer. All attractions were less than 15 min away.

This was one of the best vacation rentals we have ever booked! The cottage was extremely clean and beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for us to get some peace and quiet after a long day of crowds. Our favorite place was the back deck where we got a kick out of watching the geese, donkeys and cats that we named Stanley (black one) and Noah (orange one). The owners Dean and Nancy were very nice and very responsive to questions and made it known that if we needed anything to just ask. I would recommend this little paradise to anyone who is looking for a place in this area! Thank you Dean and Nancy for the wonderful experience!

The cottage was a wonderful place to stay in RI. You feel like you are out in the country but you are minutes away from all the activity. Nancy and Dean are wonderful hosts . They have done a beautiful job renovating the cottage two years ago. Jack and Duke … the donkey and mule .. were so fascinating to watch … pet and feed !! We will definitely be back next year !

Dean’s cottage was adorable, clean and well appointed. We loved the animals and having a quiet place to watch fireflies at night after a day on one of the nearby beaches. Highly recommend this and would absolutely stay again.

What an amazing property! The cottage itself is gorgeous and fully equipped with everything you may need for a stay. And the surrounding land is stunning -- the outdoor patio is adorable and so are the animals! My only regret is not being able to stay longer.

Comfortable cottage tastefully decorated with everything you need. Covered porch for relaxing. The donkeys were very entertaining & our pups enjoyed exploring the yard. Dean, Nancy & Isabelle were perfect hosts. Our dog sitter cancelled last minute & Nancy & Isabelle stepped in so our plans could go forward.

This is an amazing property with amazing owners! We spent a week with our 2 small dogs. The accommodations were great and Dean and Linda are just wonderful (we were very fond of Duke and Jack too!!) So close to great beaches and dining. Can’t think of a thing we would change!

Set back from the road and the main house, the cottage is the perfect getaway for those of us who want to be close to beaches, restaurants and other attractions but don’t want the traffic or noise. The porch at the back of the house overlooks a large field and woods, perfect for relaxing and looking at natural surroundings rather than buildings . Great well supplied kitchen. Watch the video for an accurate view of the house and property. Dean,the owner, did not just slap together a rental house. The genuine hardwood floors and oak beams add to the “homeliness” and he is always available. A great location, secluded but close to everything you need.

Great people Great relaxing location House impeccably done

A wonderful little place set in a bucolic setting. Very peaceful. Located in Wakefield RI, it was so close to many different beaches, parks, and great restaurants. The house was very clean and we enjoyed the special touch of fresh flowers. My family members had no issues working from here because of the great internet access. We appreciated the fact that our dog was welcome. Definitely would go back again.

We had six guests in our party for a getaway from the office day. Dean the property owner was very accommodating and generous. The house was very clean, had everything we needed and plenty of room and space for us all to be comfortable. I highly recommend this property.

The house was perfect and adorable- well equipped with everything we needed for our stay- the host was very accommodating and friendly. The property is on a farm with farm animals in the back- very cool and we could bring our dog.

We will definitely stay again. Perfect for one or two couples. The common space is much larger than we expected with a GREAT kitchen. Large private balcony as well. The place in general is very private but Dean is a great host and very communicative! Highly recommend this place! As clean as could be.
