What a wonderful place! If you want to get away and center your mind, come here. Comfortable, clean and secluded. Everything you need is here, and Ken was very helpful. Best vacation I've had and the whole family recharged their batteries.

Great time ice fishing. We were 5 guys and fit fine at the rental. Kitchen was well equipped for making meals. Access to river during the winter with a side by side we had to go to different entry point but it wasn’t far. Owner was next door so any questions were addressed immediately.

The rental was beautiful inside. It had everthing that we needed. But the real beauty is the view. It was so quiet and relaxing. Ken was a great host.

We had been coming up to Big Lake for many years and staying at other cabins. This was a great upgrade in every aspect. Roomy and updated kitchen, comfortable beds and spacious and clean bathroom. We had access to almost everything on the property including fire pit(s), gas grill, gazebo and pool table! Even when we had a rainy day that kept us from a full day of fishing, there was plenty to keep us and our 10 year old busy (pool table / direct TV etc).
The host, Ken, was very pleasant and helpful. He even let us borrow a few fishing lures!. There was a communication issue on renting his boat, which was not available when we thought is was. He was quick to get us a contact to rent a boat, which was brought to the nearby boat launch within 2 hours.
The location is serene and exactly what we were looking for. Can't wait to come back!

We love staying at this lovely little cabin. This is a serene, quiet property off the beaten path and the views from the deck and yard are amazingly beautiful. This was our second stay and won’t be our last!

The place is beautiful and so relaxing. Our family truly enjoyed our stay. Ken is a perfect host - kind and helpful and accomodating. The lodging was comfortable and clean and well stocked with anything we needed. There is nothing to improve or change. Its that good. Note that Ken's directions is the best route to follow - better than alternate route of the GPS.

Our family had a great time at the lake. The apartment had all of the amenities and was very comfortable. We spent most days fishing and swimming. Ken was a good host and on our way home we stopped at The Old School House Restaurant for breakfast which has awesome homemade bread.

Big Lake house rental
Beautiful place we stayed in, lovely area, super quiet and relaxing. Ken was super accommodating. The town had a great fireworks show on the lake to celebrate the 4th of July.

Beautiful property and comfortable stay
If you want a secluded stay on a lake close to a small village, this is you place. Everything was perfect for a getaway. Very happy traveler.
Be careful of GPS when you are 25 miles out, you end up in a long gravel road (pounding yuck). Follow property owner written directions :). Watch for bear on stump at driveway entrance. When you arrive at main house, take a right and go down the slope next to the first garage and around back. Park by furthest garage and take yard to the right all the way around to the deck facing the lake! You are there. 🙂

Memorial Day on Big Lake
House was very nice, cozy, and clean. Ken was an excellent host and even took us to the boat landing so we could launch our boats. The location is beautiful and the fishing was superb. Would definitely recommend this host and house to anyone.

Nicest All Round Experience Yet
Photos were spot on, very well kept property.
Hosts were attentive and made us feel like family. It was nice to have a person meet us when we arrived instead of a text giving a code like so many others. When we had a question it was answered within minutes. The views were spectacular, lots of fun seeing the wildlife too. Enjoyed the water, biking and short hikes. With family in the area it was so nice we could invite them over as Vera and Ken welcomed their visits. Can’t wait to go back.

This was our second visit
Everything continues to be as listed. This was a return visit to the property, this time we brought our daughter and her family. They enjoyed the peace and quiet as much as we did, but we also traveled to other parts of Maine to hike and sight see. The apartment is clean, well stocked with all that is needed and comfortable. The hostess/host are very friendly and accommodating. The area is relatively secluded, but your not alone either. We had another perfect family/dog friendly vacation. Looking forward to our next trip. Thank you again!

Rented for 3 days with my brother for fishing trout and bass in the area. Private location, visiting deer, beautiful view and swimming in Big Lake made our stay one to remember. Vera was so personable and sweet. We were treated like family. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Even towels were luxurious.Fishing in nearby streams was good and we hope to return in fall for grouse hunting.

Adorable Cottage
We absolutely loved the few days we spent at this property. It has everything you need and more. It is a beautiful property. The beds are comfortable and the cottage apartment is cozy. Ken and Vera are lovely people and made our stay pleasurable.

TOO SHORT!!
Absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was very cozy, well equipped, and very clean. The owners were quick to respond to emails and were very accommodating during our stay. The area is quiet and a great place to relax. Plenty of activities for all ages. Fishing was excellent. Our only regret is that the vacation was TOO SHORT! We would definitely vacation here again. Thank you Vera and Ken for an incredible vacation.
