the heating only came on at 7.30pm in February! which meant my wife was a bit cold!

A gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous setting. The brekky was a 10 too :)....Advise booking in on or after 2pm so u dont get charged an extra days parking. Thought they could waver that but evidently staying there, eating and drinking there isnt quite enough even though we'll have forked out around £250 for the night!? Everything else very good though :)

Fantastic location and absolutely amazing staff. The room was huge, very clean and comfortable. The food and service was also brilliant! The view of the lake was beautiful and the views from Red Pike we’re outstanding!

Lovely hotel in the village of Buttemere, a short walk from the lake. Nice reburbished bar area, Excellent dining area, comfy warm room, superb breakfast, friendly staff. All that you could want really.

I though for a single night it was slightly overpriced.

The staff were amazing. I was the only guest that night and they all went out of their way to make my stay great

No electric car charger. Perhaps something to consider for the future

From arrival to departure we were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were enthusiastic and welcoming and the service was excellent. The breakfast was typically Cumbrian with great quality ingredients and wholesome. A nice touch was a snack box to take away at no extra cost. Great to see genuine hospitality and customer service which we have missed over the last few years.

Location was perfect. 1/4 mile walk to Buttermere lake. Absolutely stunning views. The lady on reception was very welcoming and very informative. We stayed for 2 nights, the room was perfect and clean with views of the lake. Staff in the bar area were lovely and attentive. Breakfast was great with lots of choice, again staff were so lovely and welcoming, left feeling very full for the day! You are also offered a snack box to take on your adventures out for the day.

Nothing not to like, the only thing I would suggest is a signpost on the main road to say where the hotel is. I know Buttermere is small but this hotel can only be seen once you turn onto another road (it’s situated behind another hotel)

The double bed in the room was very narrow. Even though the restaurant was fine, and food tasted great, it was really loud in there, and many of the guests were vaping inside.

Great location in between two lakes with lots of walks at your doorstep. Really helpful staff with nice breakfast and an overall casual but professional feel. Bath in each room and some great views from the rooms. Nice bar/dining in the hotel with a good beer garden.

Double beds were a bit small and water pressure and temperature were a little frustrating at times.

All the staff were really friendly and the room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was fabulous and in addition the picnic box was a lovely bonus.

The only thing was there wasn’t a socket in the bathroom for the toothbrush

Beautiful location, staff were friendly and very helpful and informative. Very welcoming hotel and the food was excellent. Only a couple of minutes walk to the shores of lake Buttermere

The walls of the room are thin, you can hear your neighbours sometimes.

Loved the closeness to the lake. Loved the bar food. Loved the friendly and very helpful staff. Loved the choice and quality of breakfast and the added bonus of a breakfast box to take away. Rooms cleaned daily which was great.

Very small points. There was no glass in holder in bathroom for toothbruses. Would be handy to have a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.

Perfect location with friendly staff. Great breakfast made to order and a takeaway snack box included for when you are out and about. Decent dinner menu with a nice pub garden for when the sun is out. Guaranteed parking for guests is also nice in a busy place.

There isn’t much not to like here. Maybe the shower could of been better but that is not picking.
