Multi generational family vacation that didn’t disappoint! North Captiva is a fantastic place and Peace of Paradise was a lovely home away from home. The pool and outdoor space was the highlight of the home. Kitchen is stocked for all of our cooking needs. Highly recommend

The house was super cute and clean, the outside bar with swings was super fun and having a shower outside was convenient. The pool was nice with the waterfall very calming. The pool lights at night did not work. It was nice having 2 golf carts.

The house was in great, clean shape and was as described. Communication with the owner and Tortuga was fantastic. The downstairs patio was perfect for games and dinner straight off the grill. We would stay here again!

This was our second trip to the island and it lived up to everything we remembered! Peace of Paradise is a wonderful place. The downstairs bar and hammock area, along with the pool are AMAZING. Whenever we were not at the beach this is where we were. The house was clean and decorated so cute. The beach is only a short trip away, and "town" (aka the restaurant/bar) was close too! Clean up is still on-going on the island, but it's still the most relaxing place!

We loved our Captiva Island vacation! The design of the round home and all its windows for natural light was so lovely. The home was clean and had such beautiful style and decor. The kitchen and grill amenities were fabulous. We very much enjoyed the outdoor features and all the seating areas. The pool is situated nicely for sun and shade, and we really loved the waterfall feature for a peaceful sound while enjoying the patio area. The beach was just a five minute walk along a quiet and pleasant road. The whole island is quiet and peaceful. We absolutely loved how secluded and peaceful it was…no cars, no big buildings, the beaches were wide and open and not crowded. And our kids had a blast at the beach every morning, playing in the sand and water as it came in and the many shells there were to find (I loved this too!). We then spent a couple hours at the pool in the high sun if the afternoon, and then went back to the beach for the late afternoon and sunset. It was fabulous. A truly magical place. And worth some of the logistical effort (shuttle, grocery planning, and ferry) to get there. Molly, the owner, was very thorough with trip planning information and promptly in touch, as was the concierge service they have hired to take care of anything for you during your stay. We would love to stay here again!

Our family had an amazing time at Peace of Paradise. House was perfect for my husband and I and our 4 boys. All the amenities that came with the house were well used and great. We appreciated the communication with the owners as well as the entire Tortuga team! Great home, great location.

This home was more than we could ask for! It was clean, well-stocked and had a beautiful outdoor living area. The pool was perfect after long days at the beach. We will definitely be back!

Our stay at Peace of Paradise was exactly that - Paradise! The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. There were plenty of towels for swimming and showering. Our kids loved the triple bunk room. Plenty of space for our family of 8 to spread out in. The pool area had a very tropical feel with beautiful landscaping. The area is surrounded by trees, making for the perfect amount of privacy for our family. (Highly recommend bug spray!!) The waterfall rock feature into the pool made for a relaxing feel. The 2 golf carts were amazing, and probably our favorite part of our stay. We enjoyed many rides around the island just exploring all the beauty North Captiva has to offer. We did have 2 minor issues with one of our golf carts, but the owner Molly promptly had it serviced, and we were back on the road within hours. (Shout out to Derrick at Pieces of Eight Golf Cart Repair for taking care of us so quickly and professionally). Our experience with Tortuga Properties was good. They assisted us throughout the entire process and efficiently supplied us with anything we needed. We would absolutely recommend Peace of Paradise to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing family vacation on the island. We hope to come back very soon and enjoy it all over again! Great house with lots of amenities. The reverse osmosis drinking water was great. Kitchen, patio, pool were all well furnished and easy and fun to use. It's a beautiful house. Only two drawbacks we found: beach is probably a 10 minute walk but if you're bringing cooler/umbrellas/etc, you need a golf cart... for the price we thought we'd be closer to the beach. Also the walls are thin :)

Peace of Paradise is just that. It is a peaceful, idyllic getaway that allows you rest and relaxation or fun and adventure if you want it. We had a family of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids aged 6 to 11) and it was the perfect size with 4 bedrooms. The house was well equipped and had plenty of spreading out space. The pool was beautiful and always warm. The views from the deck were wonderful and we still miss sitting there every monring to drink our coffee. We saw a lot of North Captiva, including the planes landing at the airstrip and lots of sunsets at the beach. We also took a trip to Cabbage Key, where we saw the Manatees very close up!! Lovely home and island.

North Captiva is a special place, made all the more enjoyable by having such a lovely home to stay in and attentive property managers to assist you. Tortuga staff were waiting for us at the dock with a trailer for our luggage and groceries, and our two golf carts. We followed Duncan to the house and he pointed out a few areas of interest along the way. We needed nothing during our stay, but I am confident that Tortuga would have handled any issues with ease. They also arrived promptly for our departure. Island Girl Charters is a seamless operation as well. Don't fret about the groceries - you can easily bring whatever you need, and there are options to have more delivered if necessary. We enjoyed a casual dinner at Mainstay and another meal at The Boathouse (reservations needed there.) We would definitely stay at Peace of Paradise again. I am kind of...um...picky...about vacation rentals and will look at pretty much every house and every review, so you can probably trust my judgement on this. I will add a few details though, in case anyone wants to obsess over them. :) Location was perfect. A very quick golf cart (or bike ride) to the beach or the nature preserve. The carts were well maintained. There is no club membership, but we didn't miss it at all, especially with having such a nice pool at the house. There are so many comfortable places to relax. Internet was not great, but all the more reason to unplug and enjoy. We appreciated all the things that you don't want to have to think about bringing: dish pods, laundry pods, soap, shampoo, conditioner. Beds are comfortable, towels are plentiful, appliances are all good. What else can I say? Molly obviously cares about her guests. Did I mention the dolphins, manatees and crazy amount of seashells? Oh, and don't miss sunset on the beach - it's a bit of a thing - everyone goes...

Went to the island with my family and extended family and we had a wonderful time! What a unique trip for us first-timers - no cars, only golf carts was quite an experience! The Weather was near perfect (in March) in the 70's, we did some lounging on the beach and a lot of swimming in the pool/ocean and went shelling everyday. Peace of Paradise was lovely! Molly has the property maintained well :-) It felt a little more secluded than some of the other houses on the island which was great for gathering at the pool. We could be found at the downstairs, outside bar/BBQ area most of the time when we weren't at the beach - great use of space! So inviting, the lighting was perfect too. The private outdoor heated pool was a great size for our group of 7 as well. The house itself is round which made for interesting use of space in the bedrooms but not too hard to work around. All the helpful information about getting to the island and ordering groceries was VERY helpful too. We made great use of the reverse-osmosis water filter system in the house too which helps to combat the sulfur taste of the tap water. Tortuga management: we experienced a few slight "glitches" with communication but overall was a good company to work with. Duncan took us on a island tour the first night and helped get us acclimated to North Captiva. We would gladly come back to stay at Peace of Paradise again unless we bring more than 10 people :-)

Our stay was great. Staff was on top of any issue or concerns as well as making sure we had great seafood while we were there. The island is beautiful.

This rental is truly special: clean, beautiful and well-cared for. Duncan, Valerie and the team provided excellent support before, during and at the end of our trip. Peace of Paradise certainly lives up to its name. We will definitely be back!

Great house and property managers!

What a beautiful home!! We felt so comfortable there. This house is so kid friendly it was hard to lure them off the property! I’m not even kidding!! From the sandbox to the hammocks, pool with the toys and outdoor living areas there wasn’t really a reason to leave…except the beach, of course!! We maxed out at 10 people (4 adults/6 kids (9months-11yrs) for half the time but it never once felt crowded. There were plenty of beds, dishes, towels and space! When we first booked it I was a little nervous about the white couch and kids but Laurie with Tortuga assured me this was a kid loving home and to just enjoy. She was right! The kids loved it and everything looked as it did when we arrived. This place made our yearly relaxing vacation even more so!! We will be back!

Great time with all accommodations to rest and relax!

As advertised. Beautifully appointed. Easily accommodated 11, considering the bunks in the 4th bedroom. Super pool, golf carts, and bikes. Only drawback was the lack of closet space. Would rent again in the future.

Wonderful accommodations, location was perfect, close to where we needed to go, beach, etc. perfect size for our family. Kids loved the pool area. Outdoor shower was a must.

House was lovely. Spacious enough for our family of 8, even to watch movies, or to eat a family meal at the table. Kitchen was well equipped for a family of 8. TV's available in many rooms, so in evening adults could watch movie in spacious living area, while little ones could watch Disney-ish movies in one of the bedrooms. Lots of DVD's available with movies for little ones, as well as Netflix for all. First floor outside spacious and well equipped. Our 5-year old grandchild was enamored with the sandbox. Two golf carts, and 5 bicycles were all terrific. Beach chairs also good. No complaints about anything. Both Molly and Tortuga were terrific.

Peace of Paradise is a perfect name for this gem of a house on this gem of an island. The house is perfect with its beautiful pool and awesome outside areas. The information given on the house and island was accurate and helpful. Having property managers at your disposal during the stay is key since there is no easy way to get new items. My daughter got an ear infection while we were there and they were able to help me find a super awesome lady who picked up prescription from Pine Island and drop it to the ferry. I would def recommended this house. Great location!

Visited the property for a bachelorette for 10 girls and we had a blast. House is beautiful. We never wanted to leave the house because it had everything. A heated pool, hammocks, corn hole, etc… downstairs was the perfect place to entertain everyone. Only thing I will say is you must take all groceries, etc. Because getting on the ferry. The island is limited and extremely expensive for groceries (example: bag of ice is $8). However the refrigerator makes some. We loves our stay and would definitely recommend.

We stayed in the home for five nights. Four adults and four kids.The house is smaller but not cramped. Everything was clean on arrival. The outdoor living space downstairs is great. Sandbox with a few sand toys, hammock, pool with waterfall, lots of lounging and seating area including a full dining table for at least 10 guests. really nice evening lighting. Bring your bug spray or use the candles - our kiddos were quickly bitten!The bedrooms are comfortable and we found extra linens/blankets in the closet. The double washer/dryers proved useful as we were constantly washing towels. We spent nearly two days inside due to storms, playing board games, watching old movies and used the TV for video games. We tried to leave the games better than we found them. Bring your own DVDs if you have a favorite! Our fishing trip was cancelled due to weather but we borrowed poles from Boats and Fun.Getting around the island is quick and easy but one golf cart (green) caused issues during our entire stay. The light wouldn't stay on at night, and the tire came off during a drive one afternoon, leaving us stranded for a bit on the other side of the island. We communicated with the management consistently throughout our stay about the cart, and even the repair person commented on the status during his second visit. We toured the whole island, and traveled to a nice beach by the airstrip and got ice cream from Mainstays. We rented a boat for two days. It was easy to get back and forth from the marina to the house. The store at the marina is limited but if you request certain items, they will try to bring them back from the mainland for you within a day or two. We also shipped boxes to Island Girl and picked them up ourselves - they deliver for a price.The homeowner provided substantial information, which was extremely helpful in planning our trip. We hesitated to set up grocery delivery but we were glad we did once we arrived. Fresh seafood was great as well. The management company was unfortunately not as responsive/timely during our stay.Overall, a very fun first visit to North Captiva and we hope to return in the future.
