The hotel is a solid 9 compared to the others in the area. And with some more attentions to details, a potential 10. It is located in a secondary street, close to the seaside and walking distance from some turistic points of interest (such as the Alexandria library). We reached the hotel by car. It has no private parking but it offers a lane in front of the entrance where to stop to leave the luggages. Personnel on site helped us to find a parking spot nearby and even kindly offered himself to park it for us. The lobby is clean and staff at the reception efficient with smooth check in/check out procedures. When we entered the room we were impressed by the generous spaces. It was well set and clean. There is a mini fridge, water kettle with tea and nescafe set. The bathroom it is also big and equipped with complimentary toiletries, as well as slippers. Beds really comfy! Double thumbs up! :) We selected a standard room with city view. The sorrounding is not particularly quite as the hotel is few meters from a metro station. We personally were not bothered as we were prepared to be in a noisy area. For what was also our past experience we know it is difficult to find a quite area around there. All Alexandria corniche is busy and with lot of traffic. The restaurant for breakfast is really nice and clean. Breakfast is basic but of good quality. Before leaving Mrs. Reem was really kind to come and have some words with us to make sure we enjoyed our stay and get our feedback. She was really professional and nice. We will definitely consider this hotel for our next stays in Alexandria.

In the room there was a large corner with mold on the wall. It could be easily covered with some fornitures. Those are the kind of small details that could make the place look even better.

I would like to say it was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! Amazing staff especially Mariam, reem and kareem! Will definitely revisit the hotel.

المصعد لا يعمل اثناء انقطاع الكهرباء اليومي , عدد كروت الغرف محدود جدا لكل غرفه كرت واحد حتى لو كانوا النزلاء اكثر من واحد , فتحة تصريف المغسله يجب ان تغير , الأمن بسألك في كل مره هل سلمت كرت مفتاح الغرفه لما تخرج من الفندق , صوت قطار المترو واضح في الغرف المكله على البحر

Royal Jewel. Where do I begin? As we arrived we were greeted with a smile and checked in. Our customer relations rep, Reem, is one of those rare people that is perfect for this job. Absolutely anything we asked of her, she delivered on. She is such a delight to be around as well. She really took care of us during our entire stay. Buffet breakfast was great with loads of options. The Royal Cafe food was also great. It's in a great location also, within walking distance to the National Museum, Bibliotecha Alexandrina and St Marks Cathedral of old. Also, I used the gym 3 times during my stay and was able to do some decent weightlifting. I think the Royal Jewel Is one of the best, if not the best, hotel in Alexandria. - Laurice & Emmanuel

Hacksquat machine didn't have anywhere to load up weights so wasn't able to use it but was easily able to get some good workouts in

everything was fine from the hotel staff to the size of ne comfort of the room. very good price considering the place.

very noisy if you are just in front of the tramway

The staff is amazing. They were so helpful. I had broken my shoe so I asked Guber, at the front desk, if there was a shoe repair shop near by. He asked the other staff and offered one of them to take us to a repairman man nearby. This staff person walked us to the place. There was no way we would have found it ourself. Another day we wanted to take the city train, which was right across the street from the hotel, to a museum. We had no idea how to do this. Guber, got a map of the stops on his phone and then sent us the link. He told us exactly what to do and and how many stops there were before our stop. He then offered his staff to go to the train with us to ask the driver to make sure we get off on the correct stop. We were two women traveling so we really appreciated their concern for us and making sure we felt safe and taken care of. I would definitely stay there again.

I wish they had fresh fruit in the breakfast bar. When I asked if I could have some fruit they brought out a lovely fruit salad for me. They are very accommodating when you want something.

The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and several local sites; also easy access for tour guides to pick you up. Its also on the tram line if you want local transportation. The absolutely best part was the staff, to a person they were helpful, responsive, friendly and kind. They went out of their way to be helpful. As an example, we needed a small repair on a shoe. One of the staff walked with us to find the street vendor who repairs shoes. We would not have found it on our own. Breakfast had good choices, and there are several restaurants or cafes onsite if you want a meal or pastry. The room rate was reasonable, and the room was very spacious. We had everything we needed. We definitely recommend Royal Jewel for your stay in Alexandria. There is a lot going on at this hotel, such as weddings, weekly souk in the adjacent street on Thursdays and Fridays, and many people coming to the cafes in the evening.

It smelt horrible, the bathroom had bad ordour, There was no tea available at breakfast when it was pointed out they put 2 tea bags in tea station what a joke, I taken video of the bathroom it had cock roaches, The cleaners removed my item from the room and took it with them, when I addressed this to the the manager she would not accept and told me to check my room. Then 2 hours later insisting that the cleaners had taken one of the cleaners decided to give it back to me. Then when I confronted the manager she were very apologetic as to what had happened. Be careful if you stay at this hotel the breakfast is rubbish.

The hotel is exceptional and incredibly impressive, and it was very clear that it was of supreme quality at an extremely attractive price. The rooms were absolutely massive and very well furnished, and the fixtures and fittings were exemplary. We used the games room, which was equipped with two amazing billiard tables and a pool table. Overall the hotel was incredibly fantastic.

On our arrival we hadn't had an evening meal so chose to dine in. Unbeknown to us at the time, the hotel was hosting a wedding. We went to the restaurant and staff were clearly busy with the wedding and appeared somewhat flustered. They agreed to cater for us, but it was apparent that they were overwhelmed. As a result table service was atrocious and the waiter seemed to be very pre-occupied by the layout of the other tables rather than us, his customers. Playing constantly throughout the day and night was a repetitive tune. It was okay to start out with, but after day 1 seemed monotonous and set too loud. One evening it was playing in the corridor long past midnight and my wife had to call reception to get it turned off as it was preventing her from getting to sleep. The billiard tables in the games room need cue extenders and reaches as long shots were impossible.. Other than that they were fine. I would also like to suggest an age limit as little children were using two of the tables and could have quite easily ripped the baize table covers as they weren't supervised by a parent. When a parent eventually arrived, he allowed his very young son to throw the billiard balls onto the floor and sit on one of the billiard tables throwing the cues around.
