The house is nice, master bedroom was so comfortable and outdoor space was great. Its great that they supplied beach gear but having to shlep it back and forth to beaches everyday was a bit challenging/tiring location wise you have to drive everything so more of something to be mindful of. Also, I didn't really like that i had to wash all the towels, I'm on vacation and I paid a sizable cleaning fee. I don't want to lose vacation time to doing laundry for the unit.

This would have been a very comfortable stay for my group had there NOT been bed bugs. I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with the property management company (Paradise in Hawaii) but after nearly two weeks they’ve refused to take responsibility for the matter or try to make it right for my party. Thus, I would like future renters to beware of my experience and lack of customer service. My boyfriend started receiving bed bug bites on night one in the rental property but seeing as we’ve never experienced bed bugs before, we didn’t know that what we were dealing with. We chalked it up to normal tropical bug bites due to spending so much time outside and in bathing suits. On our checkout day we actually found physical bed bugs and immediately alerted the property management company. They responded a few hours later asking questions and saying they’d deal with it. We had to throw out all pajamas and clothing that had touched the beds as we did not have time to wash/dry before departing to the airport. I reached out to the property management company for some basic compensation and they have only been rude and accusatory. They complained that it was expensive to treat the bed bugs (not my problem) and suggested my party brought the bugs with us. As someone who has worked in customer service for many years this just isn’t how you treat people. They also continue to indicate I told them a different story than I did. Here, we like to use the term “gaslighting”. I have given the property management company (Paradise in Hawaii) ample time to make this right and they refuse. For that, the public gets to know you do not adequately clean your rentals and you’re incredibly rude! Find another place to rent if you’d like to avoid bed bugs and poor treatment.

The property couldn’t have been nicer and so well appointed with everything we could have needed from the beach chairs and snorkel gear to the wonderful pool area furnishings. The home is well maintained and very clean. We had trouble with the door handle locking on one of the bedroom doors and the owners had someone out to fix it within a few hours. Our family of 6 stayed at this amazing property for our time on the big island. Very new, plenty of space, super clean, great pool and hot tub. Four bedrooms, two with entrances to the pool and patio area in the back. The pool and hot tub were perfect for our four kids ages 18-22. Also included bicycles, beach gear (umbrellas, chairs), snorkel gear. The management team responded to our calls almost immediately when we had a question. One thing to note - location wise, you will need to drive most places (would be a long walk to a beach or restaurant), but this was not a problem for us. The great big island beaches of Hapuna and Mauna Kea are just 7-10 min drive away, so it is a great spot to hit beaches in the morning and then come back and relax in afternoon before heading out for the evening. Activities in Kona are about 35-40 minutes south and the airport about 25 minutes. You will not be disappointed if you book this property!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The owners were great at suggesting food, the golf cart rental etc. we just love everything. We definitely will be back. It was truly perfect in every way!

Our two families absolutely loved our stay at Aloha Shores. The home is in a quiet - safe neighborhood and the home is very clean. It’s located near shopping and the beach is a short drive. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the grill was clean and there were some board games to enjoy as well as Netflix. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub just outside the great room. The kids used the provided bikes to get coffee each day, and I can’t say enough about the beach supplies. The house had everything we needed....beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, bikes, coolers, a wagon and more. The owners were quick to respond to our needs. The beds were comfortable, and we loved the open floor lay out. We highly recommend Aloha Shores!

The development itself is still a work in progress and will likely grow in the future which will bring a change in the view, probably some construction noise, etc. We didn't have any of that but it will be forthcoming. The pool and hot tub were perfect for us and the kids and the grounds are landscaped nicely. In addition, the garage contained all sorts of essential beach gear including snorkeling equipment, boogie boards and beach bags.All the rooms were made up well though the mattresses were a bit firm. The kitchen is well equipped and has all the cooking and serving equipment you'll need. Note that this is a tropical island so you might see an 'unwanted guest' or two when you open a drawer or outside on the patio in the night. This isn't unusual but may startle some. In addition, while the lanai door alarms are required by State law, they can be a bit startling if you forget to press the button. Our family had it down after a day or two but it is a necessary hassle.All in all a great stay and every need we had was met. Would highly recommend.
