A groups of friends and families (5 adults 9 kids) spent the long weekend here and it was the perfect space. It was cold and rainy and we spent a lot of it indoors. We enjoyed the layout where most of the bedroom space was downstairs and living space upstairs. The ping pong table yielded hours of delight for all ages. The couch was cozy and fit us all. And when we got some outside time between the raindrops the outdoor play set was great! We even managed a fire and s’mores outside. Kate was responsive when we had questions. Would stay here again for another reunion! Thanks!

The location of the house itself cannot be beat! Check-in and communication was smooth and easy. And the layout of the house made it easy for three families, with kids 1yo - 18yo, to spread out and enjoy vacation vibes. Thanks for a great stay!

This house was perfect for our big family. We have kids ranging from 4-22 and this home has something for everyone. The playground was perfect for the younger ones, ping pong and pool for the older ones, and we all enjoyed campfires under the stars in this very quiet spot. There were stores close by and it’s centrally located to a lot of hiking, swimming and sightseeing. Just a great spot and Kate is very responsive and great to deal with. Definitely would love to stay here again in the future.

Enjoyable stay--there were 13 of us--the kids enjoyed the pool table/ping pong table and the newly installed playset. Lay out was great for multiple families. Overall great experience.

The house was perfect for our weekend trip. Bedrooms had big enough beds to accommodate grown men. The upstairs living space plenty of room to accommodate video games and a game of pool, plus hanging out and chatting. The fridge has plenty of space and there’s a Shaw’s grocery store up the road, which was very convenient. Overall was an excellent trip and a big part of that was thanks to this rental property!

This house is a lot bigger than the pictures show! The house set up was great and it was extremely clean. The amenities provided are perfect. Its close to downtown and about a 20 minute ride to Mount Snow. Kate is great and responds very quickly. I highly recommend booking this house!

We stayed here with our in-laws, 3 girls under two, and 1 year old pup. We had a great time, we’re able to spread out and be cozy in the kitchen/living area at the same time. It’s a short drive into town to visit restaurants. Highly recommend!

Staying at The Bear’s Den was a great experience! My friends and I were very entertained with the pool, ping pong, darts and board games provided. Kate was a great host who was very responsive and provided a seamless process. Would def recommend to friends for future weekend getaways!

Our family and friends really appreciated our time at this property. The layout of the house was perfect for our group of adults and kids to relax, eat and play games together. Some of the features we enjoyed the most were the wide variety of activities that were available for amusement like the dartboard, pool table and board games, the well-stocked kitchen, the ample space for coats and boots, the two full baths and the extremely comfortable huge couch in the living room. Kate was a splendid hostess and was extremely accessible and flexible before and during our visit. We highly recommend this property for a skication or any VT outing.

Perfect house for a group of friends or family! The house is so cozy & cute, has great size bedrooms, and an awesome living room/kitchen layout upstairs. Had a group of 9 people and we had plenty of room for hanging out and sleeping arrangements. House was very clean as well, and had everything you could need; blankets, sheets, towels, toiletries, cookware, silverware, etc. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Our group of 5 friends had a great stay in Wilmington. Living room was great for hanging out with the pool/ping-pong table and large tv. Check in and out was smooth. Lots of hiking nearby.

Our time at the bear’s den was unforgettable! The place was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Perfect for young kids all the way to our group (19-27 y/o). We loved the pool/ping pong table and fire place! Kate made checking in and out very easy, would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a nice long weekend with family and friends. Place was great and exactly as described. Kate was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed Wilmington and hiking in the area.

We really enjoyed wnjoyed our stay. It was close to everything we had wanted to do and very convenient. The house is part of a duplex which shares a deck but has a divider for privacy. No one was staying on the other side when we were there so it was very quiet, room for the dog to run. The house had room for 20 people to sleep with the downstairs 3 bedrooms having full over full bunk beds. 16 downstairs could fit! Upstairs master bedroom and a full Murphy bed. We did not use all the sleeping arrangements . The beds were comfortable and sheets nice and soft! Always a plus when renting houses! The air upstairs is a standing unit that was making lots of noise but the owner came by and addressed it. The bathrooms were a bit dated but functional but upstairs the fan was very noisy. The couch was large clean and comfy and two large TVs were great for our group. Kitchen was pretty small but well set up and we didnt use the dining space because to use the table you need to cover the ping pong table so not ideal if you are looking for space to serve meals for the large crowd. We did cook but had plenty of space to eat without setting up the table. We love the area and enjoyed paddleboarding on lake whittingham and raponda and hiking all around. Definitely a great stay! The owners were easy to communicate with but we didn’t have to very much at all as we had all that we needed.

This property is great! We felt at home. The host was very accommodating and very responsive to all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again.

There are so many wonderful things about this property... I'm not even sure where to begin. The sleeping arrangements were fantastic, large and comfortable beds and plenty of space. The amenities that were included (espresso, cooking supplies, sauces, toilet paper, clean towels, grill, etc.) were all very appreciated. Fire pit worked out great, and the back patio area was where we spent a majority of our time at the house. Everything was better than expected, ping pong was a big hit, and I would 100% recommend this place especially for a big ski trip in the winter. Thank you for having us!

Loved that all necessary items are available in the kitchen. Complimentary coffee and teas are nice too. The kids enjoyed the pool/ping pong table. May I suggest to spray air freshener in the bedrooms since there’s a certain moldy odor when the doors are closed. Or maybe just open the windows for a while to let that odor come out. Overall it’s a very. convenient and comfortable stay.

Had a great experience. I would suggest having air conditioner in the bedrooms. The host was very friendly and available when I tried communicating with her.

This location was absolutely amazing. It was extremely clean, well stocked, and comfort above all expectations. We had 12 women for a girls weekend and there was plenty of room with more to spare. The decor was charming and unique. The neighborhood was rural, quiet, and close to shopping. The host communication was perfect - friendly, informative, and fast. This was a treasure and a lovely memorable experience for our special weekend. We highly recommend staying here.

My family plan very last mins weekend getaway. I was looking for bigger place to accommodate everyone comfortably. “The Bear’s Den” was exactly what we needed and expected. We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is accommodating, clean and comfortable with a nice layout. Perfect number of bedrooms for 3 families with teens, and a toddler. Free fresh eggs from their chickens and ducks are a bonus, plus, the kids had fun feeding and playing with them. Owners are next door they are friendly and hospitable. The owners are very responsive to our reservation. Defiantly will stay again. Thank you!

We really enjoyed staying here. Clean and comfortable with a nice layout and location. Perfect amount of bedrooms for a family of 5 with teens. The common space including the open kitchen is great for family time - billiards, ping pong, games, puzzles and meals. We found the area to be beautiful for hikes and exploring the town. It would also be perfect during ski season. As springtime visitors, it was nice to hike a section of the nearby Appalachian Trail.

Kate’s home was perfect. Close to town, clean, spacious, and well stocked. The extra touches of the pantry staples and the pool/ping pong table made our stay even better!

We booked the Bear's Den for a weekend escape from NYC. We were blown away by the cleanliness and accommodations. There were so many special touches- board games, nespresso pods, seasonings and snacks, and even fresh eggs! We felt very safe and secure in the quaint little home. Our skiiers were happy with how close the home was to Mount Snow, and our nonskiiers were just as happy with so much to do at the house! Also a very short distance to town. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend away thanks to the Bear's Den- we'd happily stay again!

Very nice place, the kids and us loved the pool table, ping pong table and the darts, and the eggs from their chicken were very appreciated!. The beds were also really comfortable and extraordinary wide for the bunked beds so everyone enjoyed their stay to the fullest. Mount Snow is just 20’ away and we had wonderful ski time. Highly recommended, we’ll come back.

We went Presidents week to ski at Mount Snow for a few days. Kate and Matt have a wonderful house and are attentive but respective of your privacy. The house has been recently renovated with a new kitchen, appliances, floors, furniture etc. Everything was in excellent condition and we had a great stay. Cozy, family friendly Vermont home. Winner!

Perfect for large group! Was a great place to crash after a day of skiing. Kate the owner was very friendly and the home had everything we needed.
