Family comprising 3 couples had a wonderful relaxing stay at this beautiful retreat amid the snow and trees with Georgian Bay visible in the distance. Romping in the snow with the dog was unbeatable. Soaking in the spacious hot tub while the snow was all around us was a delight. Well-equipped kitchen made meal preparation a treat. Two large spaces for reading, relaxing, games, and fabulous spa with two-person shower and sauna all lent themselves so well to relaxing. We all enjoyed our stay very much. Communication with David, Pauline and Annette was fabulous - they are wonderful hosts.

My sister and our partners found the Highland House and it was the perfect location and retreat for a weekend away. The house is cozy and has everything you need. We took advantage of the sauna and hot tub. We were greeted by the property manager and she showed us around the house and was great with our dogs. A very thoughtful welcome basket was waiting for us full of local eats and beverages. This house has everything you need to have the best time away!

We just returned from a wonderful family weekend at the beautiful Highland House just north of Owen Sound. It was a winter wonderland at this beautiful log cabin home, beautifully decorated and outfitted for a relaxing and very special weekend. The 4 large bedrooms upstairs were more than comfy for our family of 8 and the hit tub and sauna extra bonuses. The large very well outfitted kitchen had everying we needed for great family meals and the outdoor pizza oven was fantastic! We had wonderful walks on and around the property and great cross country ski outings to a nearby conservation area and to the groomed trails at Massie Hills. Our host was so friendly, communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. A warm personal welcome and generous gift basket started off the weekend. Thank you for helping us create wonderful family memories...the best rental experience...we will be back!!

This was our 3rd annual girls weekend experience at the beautiful Highland House and it was as wonderful as ever! Any questions you might have leading up to or during your stay are promptly answered by hosts David and Pauline and the Property Manager Annette is there to greet you when you arrive. Friendly and welcoming, this team really goes above and beyond to ensure your getaway is perfect in every way. The property itself is stunning with multiple outdoor areas (we LOVE the large covered front porch), fire pit, beautiful new hot tub and an outdoor cooking station with pizza oven! Inside there is plenty of room to roam with a nicely stocked kitchen, spacious family room, 5 comfortable bedrooms plus a bonus room on the lower level. Thank you David, Pauline and Annette. We will definitely be back!

Our hosts were prompt and patiently responsive to all our questions. It was obvious that they took great care and pride in Highland House. On arrival the property manager, Annette, welcomed us with a tour of the house and necessary information. We found this really helpful. Everything about the property was immaculate, in good working order and the kitchen (indoor and out) was well equipped. All the beds were very comfortable! Our hosts had thought of many extra touches that were very appreciated; linens were high quality, so many thick towels supplied and cosy throws to wrap in on the cool mornings enjoying our coffee on the front veranda. Even a thoughtful welcome basket was waiting for us on the kitchen counter! We will definitely be back!

The Luxury Log Home is an amazing place. Every detail has been thought through with the guests' comfort and relaxation in mind. This was our third time staying here. Starting with our initial contact with our Hosts, David and Pauline. They were very responsive to any enquiry we had and quickly responded to any questions we had during our stay. We were warmly greeted by Annette, who gave us the orientation of the property and ensured everything was to our satisfaction before she left. Written instructions on using the facility and its amenities were well laid out and easy to follow. The home is amazing in it self. It is well appointed and very comfortable. We had 7 guests stay for 3 nights and there was plenty of room to spread out and relax. The outdoor "kitchen" is amazing and it is complemented by a very large live edge outdoor table that can comfortably seat 10 people. It looks out to the adjacent forest making it a great place to have a meal. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The front porch is also a great place to sit and relax, with plenty of room for people to sit. Other amenities that put it over the top was the 9 person Hot Tub, outdoor Pizza oven and fire pit circled by a group of Muskoka chairs. There is plenty of parking in the driveway for multiple cars. It is obvious David and Pauline put a lot of thought into making this a great destination and they are very proud of their home as it is very well maintained, both inside and out.

The property and cottage are breathtaking. Check in process was great. The cottage had so many nice amenities. Everything was really clean. David and his team put alot of effort into making it an experience.

From the moment we drove up the winding private driveway, we knew we were going to experience an outstanding holiday surrounded by nature within a luxurious space. Highland House did not disappoint and in fact, exceeded all of our expectations. The incredible log home, landscaping, waterfall, outdoor kitchen, deck, fire pit, hot tub and large harvest table were outstanding amenities and were complimented by beautiful views in every direction. Highland House is beautiful, spotlessly cleaned and welcoming. The beds and premium linens and furniture were comfortable and all new. The sauna, large screen TV and extensive kitchen amenities all worked together to enable our family to have an outstanding holiday. David was a wonderful host. His communication was prompt and Annette, Highland House’s property manager provided us with a wonderful tour. Highland House is by far the best short-term rental we have experienced. It was our personal resort and we will be back!

I am so glad I booked the Highland House for my family getaway. David was always reachable from beginning to end and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. Second time staying at this amazing property. 6 of us gathered for our annual "girls" weekend and it could not have been better. The property is stunningly beautiful, the cottage is cozy, spotlessly clean and has everything you could ever want or need in a rental. Sweet welcome basket, well stocked pantry, lovely towels and linens.... I could go on and on! Annette was there to greet us and was helpful, kind and knowledgeable...she really is a gem!! David is an amazing host. He checked in on us upon arrival to be sure that everything was satisfactory. He was always just a text or phone call away to help with any questions we had during our stay. Only wonderful things to say about this home! From the stunning property, to the incredibly comfortable beds & bedding, to the outdoor space for grilling kings. All the little extras too were so helpful!... Welcome package, great quality showering supplies, games, kitchen amenities. The home was so roomy and cozy! Everything was as the ad showed, if not better actually! We went in the Fall so it was absolutely beautiful just to sit on the pitch and watch the kids play in the yard. Hot tub and sauna were a nice bonus for moms and dads! It was only a 10min drive in town for all shopping needs. The host was great at communication and making us feel welcome! So happy we stayed and would definitely come back! Winter would be magical!

Highland House is gorgeous. It’s an amazing property (picture-perfect) with great amenities and hosts. Highly recommended.

We are a group of golfers who get together each year for 4 days of golf. We have been doing it for over 20 years and this has been the best place for us to stay in all those years. This was our 2nd year back in a row as it is the perfect venue for us. There was plenty of room and the amenities were of high quality and standards. David was a great host who was incredibly responsive. He was also genuinely keen to ensure we experienced a comfortable and rewarding stay, which we did. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at this property. We all enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. We loved gathering around the fire pit in the evenings. David and Pauline are wonderful hosts. The love and work they put into maintaining their property is evident. We would highly recommend staying here!

A perfect house and location. We enjoyed exploring the area, playing games in the garden, and just sitting and enjoying the beautiful garden and sounds of birds and crickets. We have rented other houses in Canada and other countries - none have been so well equipped and maintained as this one. We will be back next year!

We loved our second visit to Highland House as much as the first. A wonderfully quiet spot to cocoon and enjoy some quality family time. Lots of outdoor spaces to gather or just find a quiet spot. We also enjoyed zucchini and cucumbers from the garden!

We had an amazing experience, and we couldn't ask for more! Price is very reasonable, considering the quality , space , location , cleanliness of the cottage, amenities. Annette is very awesome and David (owner) is very prompt and helpful to answer my questions about the property . Our vacation is short but very sweet. We were thinking of extending for two more days because we fell in love with the property and its neighboring town/vicinities. However, reality kicks in as we all need to go to the usual routine of working. We will certainly come back next time . Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Highland House is a wonderful place to stay. Secluded and surrounded by lush greenery, the property is tucked away from the sounds of the city. Inside, it's equipped with luxuries - super comfortable beds, rain shower heads, a sauna, a fully stocked kitchen, many different areas to lounge, and everything you need to enjoy time with friends + family. The location is also conveniently located ~15 minutes from grocery chains if you happen to forget anything. The pictures here don't do the space justice - it truly is an oasis. We already can't wait to return next summer.

This log cabin and surrounding property are exceptional. Warm, friendly orientation to the property upon arrival and all the amenities one could ask for, plus more. The property owners went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Well maintained, very clean and in a great location - tucked quietly in the woods yet close to so much.

It all starts with the owner of this property! David goes above and beyond to make your stay as great as possible. The initial drive down the driveway to this breathtaking home just blows you away. Will be back again for sure.

This was a fantastic stay for our group of 6. The house was very clean and well stocked with anything you forget to bring. Dish washer and laundry are a great bonus for any group. The house is pretty secluded, which is great. The large deck amongst the trees was a great place to spend the afternoon and the covered porch was key when a storm rolled in. Beds are pretty comfortable, but that's all personal preference. The only possible negative for this stay was the check-in tour, kinda awkward and unnecessary.

This was our third time at the Highland House and it was perfect again! David and Pauline are extremely accommodating and responsive. We highly recommend the property.
