The host was very helpful in confirming the booking and providing information. The apartment is clean, well equipped and smart with a beautiful view out to Box Hill. It's quiet, but only ten minutes or so walk from the station and the town centre.

The low (sloping) ceiling hampers access to one side of the bed, and the compact dining table is just a little too compact to sit at comfortably. But these were the only two small points in an otherwise excellent apartment.

Overall a great place to stay. Dorking, and stations, a 5-15min walk away. Suburban-Surrey Hills setting with accompanying views and sounds. Clean, spacious accommodation with modern and functional fittings with no pointless frills. Tea/coffee/milk/water all in fridge. Good washing machine. It was good to be able to meet the owner in person – who is helpful and friendly, accessible and unintrusive. The stairs were not excessive and added to sense of spaciousness. Whilst I wouldn’t describe the “balcony” as such, it’s a useful expander of the skylight. Would be useful to have a welcome/orientation folder for the flat and, especially (given its reputation), for the local area and walks. And perhaps a separate bin for recycling. Although a bit of a bother to sort out the deposit (first time in many years with Booking.com that I’ve had to), owner made it a simple process.

Location is a quiet leafy cul-de-sac in a street of 1930s houses. Perfect for the event I was participating in at the Dorking Halls. Flat was completely self-contained, modern interior, spotlessly clean and well thought out. Space to sit and eat, sofa to relax on, area to work at a laptop, clean well appointed kitchen, plenty of power sockets Lovely view of hills to rear of property. Tesco Express in walking distance or 2 mins in a car.

If you have pain or a disability, dragging luggage up the 2 flights of stairs could be a challenge. Not the owners’ fault, just something to bear in mind. Everything else was ideal.

View excellent. Decor stylish and I think deliberately impersonal, which I liked. washing machine and tumble drier really helpful.

There were a lot of stairs! Had I have realised, I would probably have still booked, as it ticked all the boxes I wanted. But because I was there for 5 days in the middle of a 3 week tour catching up with people, I had a lot of "stuff" to bring in and out.

Parking was tight.
