Cute and cozy cabin was perfect for a long weekend of relaxation. It was convenient to everything in Houghton Lake. We got to spend quality time with family and had the perfect landing spot between our time at the lake and riding go-carts.
These hosts thought of everything! All we needed was food.
We played Uno and Cornhole and had a couple of campfires. Even got to see movies that we hadn't had a chance to enjoy yet.
My grandparents had a cabin nearby for years and this trip reminded me of my summers with them. I hope our grandson will cherish the memories we made with him just as much.

Stayed for 4 days in July. The place is very cute. Neat, clean and beds are comfortable. I am fussy about beds because I have had neck surgery. I would recommend this cottage! Close to restaurants and activities around Houghton area.

We loved this house. The best part about is the owners thought of everything. The kitchen had every thing you might need: cookware, paper products, great selection of spices, condiments, etc. The fenced in back yard suited us perfect. We loved that there were hammocks, corn hole and very comfortable yard furniture. We spent so much time outside. Oh, and we loved the shower :)

We drove up to Michigan for a family vacation. The cabin was in the perfect location. It is close to both big lakes and a reasonable distance to different attractions up north. I would definitely recommend it, and hope to be able to stay there again.

Cottage was perfectly located near restaurants, Houghton Lake DNR State boat launch, and the cottage was only 12 minutes from the MI State Park and boat launch on Higgins Lake.
The cottage's back yard was quiet, private and ample enough space for cooking, eating and campfires (campfire wood was included in the stay).
We didn't have a need nor a want as this cozy cottage supplied everything you could think of.
Overall, our stay was an enjoyable and comfortable one.

Wonderful stay!
If you’re looking for a cabin close to everything, this is a great option! Small inside, but we didn’t spend much time indoors! It fit my family of 3 great (and would sleep more very easily). Thanks for the great spot, James & family!

Clean and comfortable
The small cabin was perfect for my stay in houghton lake for training. The owners were extremely responsive and prepared the property perfectly for my week stay. They left plenty of extras for the home which would normally have to be purchased upon arrival. The property has a great area for an outdoor gathering and campfire. The owners supplied an abundance of wood as well. I was not able to use any, but it was there if needed. There was a public area close by to sit and enjoy houghton lake and a DNR boat launch just a short drive down the road.

Adorable, comfortable cabin!
We went for a weekend of ice fishing and it was perfect for the two of us. Adorably decorated, well appointed kitchen and bathroom, comfortable queen bed upstairs. James was very responsive to the few questions we had. Would definitely book again.

We enjoyed staying at this property, it was well stocked and very clean. The manager was extremely nice and helpful when our original flight was rescheduled to the next day. The house looks small on the outside but was big on the inside! Will definitely stay again if ever in the area!

wonderful home
It was a very nice clean home. The owners checked on us when we had a bad storm. The have a roku TV which we use at home so that was great. It was very cozy. The kitchen was fully stocked so we didn't need much. There is public access about 3 minutes away at a little beach and play area for kids. I would recommend this place to anyone.
