Aan één van de invalswegen van Castleisland ligt deze fijne vakantiewoning. Voor ons gezin (47, 46, 18, 16 en 2 jaar) was dit verblijf de uitvalsbasis voor uitjes naar Killarney, zwembad Aqua Dome in Tralee, schiereiland Dingle, de Ring of Kerry en Cork. Dan de woning zelf: die is heel erg ruim en - mede daardoor - ideaal voor een gezin als het onze. De woning beschikt over een grote, gezellige keuken met alle faciliteiten die je wenst (inclusief vaatwasser, oven, magnetron, wasmachine en wasdroger), twee badkamer (beide met toilet en douche) en vier slaapkamers, waarvan we er slechts drie nodig hadden. En dan is er nog een woonkamer met comfortabele banken om gezellig televisie of dvd te kijken. Er was door de eigenaren zelfs gedacht aan een kinderstoel, speelgoed en boekjes voor onze 2-jarige dochter. De accommodatie bevindt zich langs de uitvalsweg vanuit het nabijgelegen centrum van Castleisland naar Killarney. Grote supermarkten zijn heel snel met de auto, maar via een voet- en fietspad langs de River Shanowen ook te voet te bereiken. Ook handig: naast de vakantiewoning bevindt zich een tankstation, waar uitstekende koffie wordt gezet. Ons verblijf werd extra prettig doordat de eigenaar enkele malen via Booking.com vroegen of we het naar onze zin hadden. Bij ons vertrek kwamen ze zelfs nog even afscheid nemen; heel erg attent. Wij vinden deze vakantiewoning een aanrader en keren er beslist terug als we dit mooie deel van Ierland nogmaals bezoeken.

This was a perfect home from home stay, in a great location for touring Kerry and surrounding counties. The house itself was well maintained, clean and comfortable. I would recommend this for holiday home for families, there was plenty of room, cooking facilities, and we were just a short walk from Castleisland town. Sheila and Owen were great to deal with and on arrival there was home baked goodies which was a lovely touch.

I loved this place. All the comforts of home. The owners Sheila and Owen had gone through the the extra trouble of providing snacks and treats and also came by for a visit to meet us. This was by far my favorite accommodations on our Great Britain / Ireland vacation. A very short walk to town. Pats restaurant is about 100 yards away. Great food at a fair price and recommended by the owners and myself. Thanks again for everything. Castleisland is also the perfect proximity to all the surrounding attractions of Kerry.

There's nothing not to like in my perspective. It was a home run so to speak.

Location was perfect for us. 15 min drive to Tralee and Castleisland had everything we need for the week. House was beautiful and well kept. The hosts were very well organised and we had everything we needed.

Loved the location very central and Shiela was very welcoming lots of things to see and do around castleisland and surrounding areas

No WiFi kids were a little disappointed but we just used our mobile data in the evenings during the days we were kept busy between castleisland tralee and kilarney
