The view was nice of the lake

Very dirty, poorly maintained property with spider webs everywhere, mold and debris all over the exterior siding and roofs, peeling paint, broken windows, old rattling windows and doors while the wind gust blow, broken window blinds, no AC unit just a fan. For $261 for one night, the mattress reminded us of a coil spring crib mattress and was very uncomfortable!! At that rate it should be a 15” memory foam mattress!!! The ceiling in our room was buckled from water damages in multiple areas. No host at the desk to check in or out. Had to call to see if room could be accessed early and was told to check the lock box w our code to get the key and see if they had cleaned the room. If it was, then we could take possession. 10 min after being told we could check the room we get a convenient text from Vacassa saying we were magically granted early access to the room when I had first been told to select a checkin time upon reserving the room, and was sent and email and told my request was rejected and it was for 3-4p which was the only time that included the normal check-in time, so what else do you choose? Also didn’t like the fact that a text is sent to you from Vacassa to check out. It was sent to me 10 min prior to the checkout time I was given in the email confirmation but I didn’t receive the text until 15 min past checkout and then had actually already left the property an hour earlier. Wonder how many people they try to charge a late fee to for that time delay!! Not impressed. I’d only waste money there in an absolute pinch!!

Was clean.

Tiny bathroom. Couldn't enjoy the sunroom because windows don't work and was soaking wet. Thought I was getting a cottage, not a tiny room.

Beautiful location. Booking, arrival, & check out were painless experiences. After reading the others reviews (which gave us a reality check that this was not going to be an extravagant hotel with all the bells and whistles), we knew exactly what to expect.. so we were content with the cute and cozy room. We spent most of our time exploring Maine and eating out rather than hanging at the Lodge. Waking up and walking outside to the beautiful lakeside view was wonderful. The other guests were quiet and respectful. We slept great both nights. We had 1 vehicle and parking was not an issue.

Power outlets in the bathroom for hair tools would have been nice. Not a great place for an extended stay as cooking & storing food was not ideal here (not a problem for our short stay).

No breakfast available.

No AC in the room. Half the windows didn't work and had signs saying not to use them. The ones that did work you had to use sticks to prop open. Also the windows were dirty. It had a kitchenette, but no coffee for the coffee maker. If I had known that, I would have brought some with me. My room was in the main house. Other than one dock with a bench, the rest of the outdoor seating by the lake belonged to the cabins. My room came with two parking spaces. I was lucky to find one. They are not assigned. For $320 a night it was unacceptable. The view of the lake, which I could only see standing up in the enclosed porch, was fine. The lake is beautiful. I had never used Vacasa before. The one person I duty I saw on the entire property seemed annoyed when I asked questions. I know fake, annoyed smiling when I see it. I was really excited this property.

Not able to contact anyone by phone. I left a message and never received a call back. I thought I was booking a cottage and turned out to be a room in the main building. There was only one canoe and it was in use. No kayaks. The system of going through booking. Com, that transferred to vacasa, and no contact with actual place we were staying did not work well.
