The people who clean it, own it. You can tell - cleanest place in our 5 week adventure. Loved the beautiful kitchen, the ultra comfy bed, and the little touches around the place, inside and out, that show the owners love their place. The chickens, greenhouse, and gardens were wonderful, alongside our very own enclosed patio with blooming roses and cosmos. All of the food in the fridge for us to eat when we arrived - shocking! We have traveled in self-catered places since 1998 and this is the most cared for we have ever felt. We loved its location, walking foot paths, roadways. It’s a beautiful country world. We absolutely loved getting to connect with the owners - true salt of the earth. If we can stay again, we will!

High quality furnishings all finished to a high standard. Everything was beautifully done and super clean.
Fresh eggs from the chickens just outside was the icing on the cake!
Lovely pubs in the village, and location was pretty central to everywhere that we wanted.

A lovely little gem 💎 of a place! Quiet but still easily accessible to the beautiful surrounding areas. With a bus stop at the top of the road, it's so easy to explore Canterbury, if you fancy taking in a bit of history. Many thanks go to Carys and Tim for their warm welcome and for making our stay "just perfect"!!

The Roost is a fabulous property. Set in a quiet spot with easy access to surrounding towns and countryside. The property is spotlessly clean and well furnished.

A very nice quiet location in the country side. The owners are both extremely nice people; very helpful and always friendly. The apartment was separate from the house and both very clean and wel equipped. We had a great stay and would have stayed for much longer if it were possible...
We are a couple and used to beds that are 1,60 - 1,80 m wide. The bed in the apartment is of good quality and comfortable but only somewhere between 1,30 - 1,40 m wide. It took us quite some time to get used to that. I can imagine that there might be more people that find a bed that size somewhat on the narrow side. But it is probably a matter of personal taste.

The hosts provided fresh eggs from their own chickens, bread, butter and cheese on our arrival, then they gave us freshly picked strawberries from their greenhouse.
The location is great, lovely and quiet, short drive to local pubs where the food was great and easy access to Canterbury, Dover and coastal areas.
Highly recommend a stay at The Roost, thank you Tim and Carys for being fantastic hosts.

What a gem of a place for a short stay in the Canterbury area. My wife and I spent a week at the Roost after moving down from Manchester and waiting for our house to be ready to move into. The Roost is quite small, but well arranged and is perfectly comfortable enough for a couple for a week - or even more. The kitchen has everything that you need (full size oven and gas hob, plenty of pots and pans, microwave oven, dishwasher and Tassimo coffee maker - there is also access to a washing machine). The bed is comfortable with good quality bed linen and towels. There is a lovely little private paved patio for outdoor eating or tea time. The Roost is in a rural location, just outside Wingham village and a little off the main road, which makes it easy to get to Canterbury, either driving or on the bus (which runs regularly throughout the day and stops about 5 minutes walk from the Roost). Finally, Carys and Tim are such excellent hosts and I would thoroughly recommend the Roost to anybody!
