Lidya is so kind, there's nothing she won't do for you. The place is clean and the beds are firm and comfortable and breakfast is always good- eggs potatoes and kachumbari on point!!I had a delicious pancake breakfast one morning. I felt so welcomed and looked after while I was there. The location worked for me being a little outta town but with lots of transport options to get wherever I wanted to go. Lidya even took me to markets which was so good because I would have been lost without her. Whenever I'm in Dar es Salaam I will stay with Lidya ☺️

A lovely homestay that gives you the experience of staying in a local Tanzanian home. The room was comfortable and the free breakfast was great. Places to eat & drink are walkable or easier if you take a bike or taxi.

My stay in Mikocheni Homestay was 1 month. Lidya was a very nice host. The house is calm with an atmosphere of quietness and most of guests staying there were well educated and were good to get along with. Although the place is not located at a central location, it is close to several restaurants and shops. Dar Industrial zone is nearby.
The breakfast was good and the beds were very confortable.
Some improvements are needed to be implemented in the house like fitting of proper internal lock in both bathroom and rooms. There is no hot water for shower.
Having napkins available during breakfast is not a big deal too

The guest house is in an excellent location with shops nearby and Palm Village a short walk away. The beach is a 10 minute walk as well. Ms.Lydia is welcoming and a excellent resource for information. The breakfast included with your stay is made from fresh organic fruits and vegetables. The hospitality and staff is number one.
There's not one thing not to like. The staff is helpful. Vai, one staff member will clean your room and even wash your clothes for a small fee. Richard also is there to assist you. They really go above and beyond. I can go in and on how much I enjoyed my stay.

I had a great time with this super friendly and helpfull family. The house has a garden and there are lots of plants, the area is very peacefull and nice to live in. The nafasi art space is close to the house and offer great exhibitions and events.

it was near to the area which we wanted to stay, there was a gate and fence around. The mattress was good. It seems the host is friendly but they must do some updates on the rooms and update booking details so that the details of the room truly reflect what you get.
unexpectedly, there was a shared bathroom, no toilet seat on the toilet and no lock on the bathroom door, no mirror, no shower curtain and water floods the bathroom when you wash. the light switch of our bedroom was outside the door, there was no mirror or waste basket. the fans in the room were really noisy.

Lidya was very helpful and kind from the first second I entered the place.This is a nice place to stay for a short-term trip and if you stay here you can reach the sights easily. Local breakfast was very delicious!

The lady who received me Gift was a pure Gem.She made the most amazing breakfast and was the kindest sweetest person there.The internet is fantastic as it works like a charm and is super fast.
No mosquito nets in the rooms which are desperately needed.Also the mosquito screens around the windows need to be replaced.The kitchen needs some serious organizing and cabinets fixed.The staff need to be treated with respect I felt that Lydia could improve how she treats them with more dignity and respect.

The place is lovely, nice and clean. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Internet connection is excellent. I had a very good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast.

I enjoyed my stay, really the place was nice, clean lovely stuff, I miss the break fast,💯% delicious, Lydia she's the best in all. Soon I will visit again.
