The hotel was right by the train station and near the center of the town so very easy to walk around. And the staff were so kind and thoughtful! I will definitely come back and stay here again in the future.

I cannot recommend this place enough as a solo traveler, or for anyone staying in Appenzel. Monica and Katrin are extremely friendly and helpful host and it's the perfect base location to hike and explore the mountains of Appenzel. It's right next to the train station and if you are staying for more than 3 days you will get a pass for the local transport including cable cars! The continental breakfast is wonderful and will set you up for a day of exploring. It's also only a couple of minutes walk to great restaurants in the centre of Appenzel Village. Very pleasant stay, highly recommend

Everything fine for me except heater. It didn’t work in September. I’m a bit weak of cold. I should have brought some warm pajamas for night.

Great position few steps from train station. Clean room in modern style. Shared bathroom and toilet were nice and clean too. If you stay here for 4 nights and more you will get Appenzell card - you can use 3 types of cablecars, all trains in the region for free and a lot of other things.

Automat for check-in was little bit surprise but nothing difficult to do it. Hotel was nice and clean, but it was little bit "machined control". I missed some reception with people. On the other hand there were two ladies in breakfast time so you could meet someone to ask for help.

open 24 hrs the kitchen,anytime you can make hot drinks,very accessible to the train station,only across the road,5 mins walk to city center. staff was so lovely and helpful,i would come next time

Great location, and a nice view on the hillside from our room. The breakfast was rich and gave us enough energy for the daily hiking in the surroundings. We hope to be back soon!
