Perfect house for a family going scalloping! Very large and spacious layout. We loved sitting at the bar table for our dinners! Outdoor pool area was big and comfortable! Loved the split floor plan so we had our space in the evenings. Dock was perfect for our boat!

We had an amazing stay at the River Cottage! My husband, our pups, and I felt right at home. The house was impeccably clean and stocked with everything we needed. The host was incredibly welcoming and made sure our stay was perfect. We loved spending time by the pool, and the nearby restaurants were fantastic. We also brought our little boat and had a blast on the river. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend this lovely getaway. Thank you so much Melissa! ❤️

We enjoyed our stay at the home. The pool is a great feature. The house was clean and well stocked with most things needed to cook with while visiting. We also enjoyed walking to the nearby state park and paddling around in the canals. We will definitely try to stay again in the future.

Lots of room and many amenities! The beds were comfy and the kitchen was updated and well supplied. The spacious family room and lanai were great for visiting. Having a pool, use of kayaks and bikes made it extra fun for adults and kids. Our host, Melissa, was very welcoming and answered any questions we had promptly!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. We found the owners to be friendly and helpful and the house to be very thoroughly and thoughtfully equipped with anything you might need. Do read the description carefully as this home does not have a hot tub. The heated pool is very nice, however, and we had several enjoyable swims despite unseasonably cold temperatures. We would definitely stay here again and appreciated the hospitality we received!

Fantastic property with a great floor plan. We enjoyed fishing, the kayaks, paddelboards, and the pool was lovely (even in the rain). Highly recommended, and hope to stay again soon!

We have stayed at many VRBO rental houses over the years. This rental is by far the best ever! Our communication with Melissa (the host) was outstanding! Every question and problem was handled immediately. You need to not hesitate and book your trip right away!

This house was perfect for our family of six. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in on vacation. The house is in a perfect location with easy access to all the water activities we wanted to do. Also had a great time using the paddle boards and kayaks right from the dock in the backyard! We were in Crystal River to swim with the manatees which was awesome! We also had a great time just hanging out at the house, playing games, fishing and swimming. We’d highly recommend staying at this home. Would definitely rent this house again. Melissa is an amazingly responsive host and answered a ton of our questions before we arrived. She even accommodated our request to change our dates. This house has tons of amenities! Way exceeded our expectations!!!!

Fantastic property! Great “half-way” point for my family. Fun family attractions within 15 minutes. The owner was quick to respond to any questions and provided a perfect spot for our Thanksgiving shenanigans!

This is a great place to stay while in CR. It is clean, well stocked, and has a great open floor plan for family and friends! The location is perfect- close to a boat ramp and easy access to the springs and scallop grounds! I highly recommend this home for your vacation!

This was our second time staying at this home. Once again it was exactly like we expected. Clean inside and out. Well stocked kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms. We love just hanging at the pool while our kids were swimming and fishing. Huge plus that the pool is heated. I’m not a fan of cold water. Even in the Florida heat. The neighborhood and neighbors are amazing. I wish I could give the host 10 stars. She was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had. We will definitely be back again.

We've stayed in this house 6 times, and it keeps getting better. Melissa and Jose made improvements, both large and small, since our stay last year - larger parking area, new stove, better lighting inside and out, excellent pool maintenance service, etc. It's in a very quiet neighborhood close to the restaurants and shopping on Hwy 19-98, yet far from traffic noise. Hungry Howie's delivers delicious pizzas to the door. Neighbors keep their outside lights to a minimum so we could go out to enjoy the full moon nights and the wonderful dark sky nights. The no-seeums more or less disappear after dusk!

This was our second time visiting the property and as always it was a pleasure. The house is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed time on the patio watching TV and the pool. Also a great location for walks/runs/hikes with two state parks right outside the front door.
Would definitely recommend..and we look forward to our next visit.

This is a lovely Florida-style house with a quiet street in the front and a neat little canal in the back. The house is literally a five minute away from our the charming downtown center of Crystal River.
My wife and I plus our 6 kids slept great, and the house had everything we needed. We will definitely be returning!!!

Melissa and Jose were great hosts and their home is very clean and comfortable. This is a great choice for people who like outdoor activities but may not have room to bring their own gear. They have paddle boards, kayaks, life vests and bikes. Location is very convenient to manatee swim tours and good seafood. We highly recommend this home!

We have been traveling to crystal river every year for the last 8 years, and this property has been one of our favorites! Melissa was a pleasure to deal with. My husband, 14month old son, and I enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and had everything we needed! The boat launch was right down the road, which is helpful to me since I’m not the most comfortable pulling the trailer back to the house ;). My sister and her family came to stay a couple of days, her two teen children enjoyed the place including the pool, short ride to three sister springs, and short ride to the gulf to catch some scallops! Definitely would recommend this property for a no stress relaxing vacation!!

Melissa was amazing! Property has a fantastic set up for larger groups. Our visit was for scallop season, location was easy and you can pull your boat or boats right up to the sea wall. Very clean and they have covered every detail needed for an amazing vacation. Beautiful pool and sitting area for relaxing after a day on the boat. Homeowner makes check in and check out very easy with minimal chores required. Can’t wait to book this house again next year!

Amazing, absolutely amazing
We stayed here for a girls trip - myself, a friend, and three teen girls. The property was well stocked, extremely clean, and absolutely perfect. The location is quiet and perfect for our morning runs. The park at the end of the road is beautiful and it is close to Three Sister Springs, gift shops, etc. Already booked my next trip!
