My family and I really enjoyed our stay at 129 Roethal. The house is large with room for everyone and is also well stocked. The swimming was great! A couple of suggestions for making everyone’s stay even better: 1) it would be great if you had some water toys like a canoe, rowboat or paddle boat, and 2) the house really needs air conditioning (especially in the bedrooms). For most of our stay, it was sweltering and the fans just didn’t do enough to cool us off and allow us to sleep. Other than those suggestions, we really enjoyed our stay.

The home has a great location! It's easy access to amenities in Meredith and in a great quiet inlet on the lake. The home was clean but could use some updates to be more comfortable. Including access to washer/dryer and new mattresses. Also the basement houses a bunkbed but with the mildew smell I wouldn't put anyone down there overnight. Overall we had a good stay spending time as a family and enjoyed the easy lake access.

I have been vacationing with At The Lake for several years now and have never had a check in experience like I had this year. Though I know the check in time is 5pm the homes we have rented have always been ready to go hours before and therefore I sort of planned on this occurring again. The house keys were not available until 4:30 and when we got to the property the cleaning people were still in the house so we had to wait outside until they were done. This really caused us to loose our entire first day on the lake to include a family reunion we had planned to make it to much earlier in the day. The cleanliness was marginal and possibly the cleaners were trying to rush to finish but the refrigerator had not been cleaned and had remnants from the previous tenants, not a pleasant find after finally getting into the house and trying to unpack the food we had in coolers for several hours at that point. The house was extremely hot and had minimal fans, the one small fan they had in the kitchen/dining area did not work. We had to go and buy fans the next morning it was so unbearable. I have always stayed in houses on the lake that do not have air conditioning so not sure why this house in particular was so unbearable. There is no washer or dryer to use which is really needed when using bathing suits and towels daily. Additionally the swim area right in front of the property is very mucky and has many large spiders. I understand the spiders really are not within the control of the owner but cleaning the muck right in front of the house would be a great improvement. Loved the quiet cove and the location on the lake. The house also had ample sleeping arrangements which was also nice.

Property is very nice. suits our needs for a week of fishing. Nice location on the lake. The only issue we had with the house was somebody dropped the ball when it came to our towels and linens. Paid for the package and discovered there were none there. Called Sue at the realtors' emergency number and she was Johnny on the spot with our sheets and towels. Other than that, it is a great place to stay. This is our second year there and will be returning for a third.

This house was very spacious and a great location on the lake, only a quick boat drive to Meredith town docks. Sits in a VERY quiet cove. Sadly the house does not have AC and does not allow you to bring in your own so when it hit 90+ for four days it was unbearable at times. Also not a kid friendly location as there is no yard to play in and it sits right on the water with no beach area for young kids to play in. Otherwise a great stay.

What a great spot. We had a wonderful time with our family, loved how the bedrooms were upstairs so people could sleep if they wanted and have others still up having fun. Noticed the house had ac vents but there was no ac, in the hotter months could be very uncomfortable sleeping so hot. The house had all the appliances and utilities one could need. The dock needs some serious attention, had rotted wood and boards about to break. We brought our own gas grill , the house came with charcoal grill. Overall a wonderful vacation and would go back again.

Amazing location. It's a very quiet cove off the beaten path, though there are some traffic a little ways off by water skiers and jet-skis that can get a touch noisy, but it's really not a problem, normal big lake noise.The house is really good, clean, checks all the boxes space and amenity-wise, with the exception of AC. The dock/water access is amazing. A leaf rake for the bottom would be welcomed to clean up the swimming area besides the dock. The addition of WIFI and a smart TV were great additions since our last visit. I do expect to come back in the future.That being said, it could use some minor attention here and there to make it amazing. The curtain tie-backs and rods are all held in with finishing nails, and want to keep coming out of the walls, minor quibble, but annoying. Some of them obviously have been hammered in again at least once before, so this shouldn't be news. The ancient couches in the living room really need to be sent to a farm up state. They're easily the least comfortable pieces of furniture I've sat on for quite some time. They were bad two years ago at our first visit, they've only gotten worse, especially the bigger one.

The place was filthy! The floors and appliances (oven, dishwasher, toaster oven, microwave) weren't cleaned. Found uncleaned dishes/pans in the cabinets. There was trash particles left on bottom of the barrel. The coffee maker had to be replaced because it was so dirty and moldy. The bathroom floor on ground level was sticky. There was a teddy bear found in the master bed and a couple of articles left under the bunk beds in the lower level and behind the couches on the ground level. The couch cushions weren't removed and cleaned underneath. The refrigerator and freezer had not been cleaned. There were 5 or 6 empty ice trays in the freezer. shower lights in bathrooms didn't work. some shades were broken. black marks along the walls to the 2nd level. The rugs in the bedrooms were so old and dirty. No supply of cleaning products. But, despite the conditions of the Lake House, we all enjoyed the scenic views and location and had a great time!

The house location is amazing. The house itself has recently been renovated I believe, but you think you could therefore walk to the bathromm at night without waking the entire family with squeaking doors or floorboards.
One very disappointing aspect is that when you arrive expect NOTHING to be there. Not a roll of toilet paper, a thimble of dishwashing soap, one tablet of powder for dishwasher. Seriously, $10 would allow a welcome to pack to get the tenant through the first night. Oh,, no cloths washing facilities. Must be locked away. Appreciate you don't want to be spending your days washing, but with a family of 5, a week of holidays necessitates at least one load.
Maybe even one kayak, paddle board, or canoe would have been nice.
But if you want location, location, location. Then you will be happy

This is a great location, very quiet. The house itself is quite nice, but its only been partially
renovated. There may have been a previous reno done, but it was some time ago. The main living areas, the master bedroom, and the 2nd/3rd floor bathrooms have been done, but the other 3 bedrooms look older. They're not bad, just noticeably not as nice as the rest. The grounds could use some work, the docks are very much showing their age. The landscaping is nice overall, but they're using red bark mulch everywhere near the water, which makes walking outside painful if you're barefoot. Overall, I'd still go back, but I am keeping an eye on other options.

WE have stayed at this property for 3 years. It's a great location! Wifi would be a much needed improvement. The dock needs some work, it's a little worn (splinters) and some planks should be replaced. Gas grill would also be a plus.

Overall, the property was good. The location on the lake and proximity to the center of Meredith was great. the house is impressively, clean. I was disappointed there was no gas grill. This was stated in the description. I missed it. Because of covid 19 we wanted to eat in. The charcoal grill provided was too much work when your on vacation. I would rent this house again if they had a gas grill.

Great week overall for sure. Read Amenities section well - no internet, no gas grill, no washer/dryer. Mentioning the following because I wish i had been given this 'heads up'... when we arrived at the house, there was no toilet paper (not a square), no paper towels / napkins, no salt or pepper, no hand soap, no dish washing soap, no hair dryer. Been renting summer/winter places in and around MA and NH for 30+ years now and never experienced that. Had to run out to the store pretty much immediately. When the week was over, we left all that stuff plus a few cold beers in the fridge (as we usually do). Hope they were there for the next renters. Just a few dollars for the basics makes a big difference.

We rented this lake house as a group of three couples/families, and there was plenty of space for all 10 of us. House was clean and fresh and has recently been renovated. The house sits in a protected cove with some very large rocks nearby - so boat traffic was limited which was great for us and the kids swimming. The younger kids caught sunfish off the dock. We had a visiting family of ducks, a little turtle and a loon come by every day. Beautiful sunsets. Just a few things to note: We have a 22' boat on trailer - not a great idea to take the boat to the house - windy dirt road to get there make it difficult. Better off leaving the boat at Shep Brown's and launching from there. The dumpster near the house wasn't as bad as others say - we found it pretty convenient actually. We didn't spend any time in front of the house so it wasn't an issue. The house comes stocked with nothing. No dish soap, hand soap, no toiletries, no hand towels, no bath mats, no paper towels. There was one roll of toilet paper in one bathroom. The other bathrooms were empty. I have rented many houses and having nothing stocked was a first for me. However, I would certainly rent this house again so don't let this deter you - just bring all your own everything! It's not a big deal if you know in advance. The neighbors are all very nice. We met folks on either side of us - they were all very helpful and pleasant. I hope we are able to come back and rent this house again some day as the house was nice and the location is great. It fit our needs perfectly.

The home was lovely! We had plenty of space for the 9 of us to move around and enjoy the home. The beds were comfortable and the 3 full bathrooms were well appointed. The cove was great for swimming, fantastic sunsets and a great escape from the open waters of the lake. We will definitely be back.

House and dock/beach were great. The house, as stated in previous reviews, has nothing in the kitchen/bathrooms, so be prepared to bring all food, toiletries, cleaning,etc items. Though I was told blankets and pillows were provided, there is one blanket/bed and the blankets are thin and quite small (twin bed size) so I would advise to bring blankets. No washer/dryer makes a weeklong visit difficult.

We loved our stay. The house was large so plenty of room to accommodate our 4 adults and 3 children. The deck was nice to sit out on at night. We rented a pontoon boat which I highly recommend . It’s easy to maneuver and taking rides along the spectacular lake was inspiring. The kids jumped off our pier and had a blast. The youngest played in the shallow end which is just steps away. I enjoyed cooking on the charcoal grill. Meredith town is lovely and just a short drive. Hanna fids supermarket is awesome. The only thing I would have liked to have was a washer and dryer. We brought ours to laundromat which has sketchy hours. Other than that, it was wonderful . One more thing.... We had to drive to Moultenboro to get key which was fine, but would have been much more convenient to leave keys on the counter on our way out

Our rental experience has been at the South New Jersey shore resorts so the lack of a washer and dryer was an unwelcome surprise as was the lack of wifi when so many of our group needed to check in with their offices. The good news is that the view of Tommy's cove and the sound of the loons was beautiful and so relaxing. Would have loved A/C for those muggy nights but the fans helped.

Great location, spacious, few amenities. Tommy's cove is beautiful and very convenient given the remote location. Great for swimming, boating and fishing. No washer or dryer when you pay this much is frustrating. Wet towels and bathing suits all week long. No internet in this day and age is also annoying.

The house was the perfect size for our family. It was located in a quiet cove close to things by boat or car. We would go this route again for sure. The upstairs shower had no hot water and the smelly dumpster off the driveway were two small issues we had. But overall it was a wonderful week and we loved the house.

The wishing well had been blown over by the wind before we arrived and was smashed on the ground. We picked up the pieces and put them beside the house. We expected to have a washer & dryer, but there wasn't.

This is a great location, very quiet. The house itself is quite nice, but its only been partially renovated. There may have been a previous reno done, but it was some time ago. The main living areas, the master bedroom, and the 2nd/3rd floor bathrooms have been done, but the other 3 bedrooms look older. They're not bad, just noticeably not as nice as the rest. The grounds could use some work, the docks are very much showing their age. The landscaping is nice overall, but they're using red bark mulch everywhere near the water, which makes walking outside painful if you're barefoot. Overall, I'd still go back, but I am keeping an eye on other options.
