Good location, clean, and quiet. We had everything we needed for a week of riding NE TN, VA, and KY.

If you are looking for peaceful, relaxing, away from everyone, and with all the comforts of home, then this is the place for you.

Loved the private drive to the house and the privacy of the location. We never heard any traffic noise or noise from others that live in the surrounding area.
Enjoyed watching the rabbits and deer graze, along with listening to the songs of the many different birds. The house itself was terrific; clean and well stocked, even the furniture was comfortable.
Planning on staying again as it was a terrific value.

The cabin is tucked way back in the woods far from other homes and has all of the amenities to accommodate a large family or some friends. We were unable to enjoy the area much because we attended the races, but would like to visit again to enjoy the nature and trails surrounding the cabin.

The perfect hideaway for peace and quiet - but only a short drive off the property to anything. The house was so accommodating and we enjoyed listening to rain on the metal roof after 2.5 days by the firepit in the heart of the forest. So much fun!!

We loved the cabin. It was clean, comfortable, and very well furnished, including kitchen items. It was also wonderful to have the linens and towels included as well as access to a washer and dryer. We loved the isolated setting. It was just a little bit further of a walk to the water than we thought, but still, a wonderful place to stay. Thank you.

A friend of ours needed a getaway. So we booked with Paula. We’ve stayed at Tailwater twice before. Needless to say, our friend was totally impressed with the cabin.
Bristol is a short drive, fly fishing in the best river in Tn. South Holston river is full of brown and rainbow trout. Gatlinburg is a couple hour drive.
The cabin is a half mile back into the woods. Beautiful yard for the kiddos and fur babies. Beautiful deck for enjoying the weather. This may not be a big thing. But you don’t have to stream tv. You can watch “normal” tv with local stations along with news, sports, movie channels. Gas fireplace inside and a fire pit outside.
We will definitely be booking with Tailwaters again.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Only wish we had more time to spend at it to enjoy the fire pit and the beautiful porch. So private and secluded. We would definitely come back!

We utilized this cabin to stay with our pups during a festival in Bristol. We found ourselves missing the cabin every time we left it. The location to the river and lake are spectacular, but the property and cabin is a destination in itself. Communication is clear and we loved every bit of our time here! Would stay here again even if we didnt have a reason to viait the area!

All we wanted was to relax, to hike and fly fish. We accomplished all three and loved staying at the Whistling Timbers Cabin. A perfect getaway place to stay that offered all we could have asked for and more!

Overall great stay. Cabin was nice, clean, and close enough to Bristol. Cabin on 30 + acres. All kinds of wild life. Right down the street from Holston Dam. Great for hiking and fishing. If you want peace and quiet without being in the middle of nowhere this is the place. Owners have thought of everything.

True mountain cabin feel, we walked all over the property and likely into the national forest with dog off leash and no one else to run into. Cabin was great, enough amenities while also being able to disconnect.

Private location in a beautiful setting. Convenient to family for our visit. Pet friendly with plenty of trails to explore. We found out that we needed to add an extra day, and hosts were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

One bathroom on main floor for 2 bedrooms to share, and second bathroom is in the basement next to laundry room. Paula and Bruce were great, very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us for our anniversary vacay.

The cabin was perfect for our trip. Nestled in 35 acre property. This was perfectly located near the South Holston river. Paula was perfect. She was always there by phone or email to answer a question. We hooked up with Soulth Holston River Company for a guided fly fishing day and used Tailwaters Lodge. Wish we would have stayed longer. Great trip. Great cabin. And YES, we caught a ton of fish.

It was peaceful, relaxing, everything furnish, nice area, we had a wonderful property manager, back out in the woods. yes i would stay here again. everyone should take there vacation here in Tennessee

Beautiful Get-a-way
The cabin was beautiful and the cardinal that visited us each morning in the window was an added bonus. The cabin was very clean and well supplied with essentials. The only thing that I would note is the large number of wasps and bees. Although none caused an issue, if someone has a sever allergic reaction to a sting an epi pen is mandatory due to the distance from medical services and response time.

Perfect weekend getaway
This property was everything I expected and more! It was quiet, peaceful, clean, and just remote enough without being too far from a grocery store. I really enjoyed the fire pit as well as hiking throughout the property.
I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice getaway!

Excellent for seclusion
This place was definitely what my family and I needed, our own space and serenity. This cabin is tucked away in the woods for sure. About a half to 3/4 mile driveway that would be questionable to traverse if both of our vehicles didn’t have 4x4. We were able to make it to the cabin without it engaged, but made it with ease in 4H even in the rain. Loved and used the outdoor fire pit, gas grill, and indoor gas fireplace. Would have liked the home to be deep cleaned to rid of dust on ceiling fans and crumbs under couches and behind other furniture, but my family and I are really happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone. We may book again soon as we fell in love with Bristol.

The house and property are stunning! We were able to have Thanksgiving dinner with family that live locally and it worked out perfect!

Getaway
It was a great location, and very secluded. Great trails and proximity to the dam. Unfortunately, the gas fireplace was leaking natural gas and the whole cabin smelled of gas. We had to turn to pilot light off and open windows/door to stop the smell and get rid of the residual smell. The owners were quick to respond. Overall, the cabin was clean, although it was dusty. It looks like when someone cleans, they only hit the main areas. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay!
Great cabin on beautiful property. We really enjoyed the privacy and the trails. The outside fire pit was so relaxing and warm every evening! Great fly fishing with River Run Angling! Hope to be back soon!

Cabin near Bristol Motor Speedway
Our stay was excellent. Hass to be the cleanest property or even five star hotel I have ever stayed in. The amenities were nice and it is about 12 miles from the race track. So convenient for all our needs will definitely be back.

A true gem
We arrived and it was everything and more. Quiet remote, all the comforts of home.views of the lake were outstanding. Stairs were not a problem for my prosthesis. Wife fell in love with the fridge. Saw a flock of wild turkeys on Wednesday morning. Would recommend to anyone

Great seclusion
GPS is a little off, brings you up a different road. Fire pit needs to be cleaned out monthly and listed on website. Lots of debris and full, hard to have a fire. Will definitely come back.

Peaceful and quiet!
Our family stayed here for the weekend as we had a wedding in a nearby town. The cabin was very clean and spacious. It was a peaceful, quiet and beautiful retreat from the busyness of the wedding. We were able to take advantage of the short hike in the woods next to the cabin and really enjoyed the scenery. We are hoping to come back again and hike more trails and do some fishing!

Seclusion in the TN Hills
This cabin is secluded on 30 plus beautiful acres with easy access to area hiking, Holston Lake, the VA Creeper trail, and other natural attractions and activities. The land is beautiful and very private. We enjoyed our long weekend stay.

Beautiful cabin, though smaller than it appears in photos.Very clean, comfortable beds. Loved having coffee on the deck every morning.Great location for fishermen and fisherwomen looking to fish at South Holsten River, which is across the street from the end of the long driveway.Minutes to Holsten Lake and public boat access.
