Our room was great, with a view of the bay (although a shame we couldn't work out how to open the window to take photos!) And we appreciated the good complementary continental breakfast. It is however quite expensive, and we should have been told at check-in that theh were taking a holding payment against the debit card I'd used when booking as the extra payment from the bank account concerned us at first.

Great location! Nice property with outdoor pool/hot tub. Continental breakfast is included at restaurant across the street. Note: you cannot walk anywhere from this hotel except the restaurant across the street. Located on HWY 1 and there is no sidewalk or shoulder, so not good for walking anywhere.

One of my favorites places to stay.

The room was spacious and very well appointed. The only issue was being next to a noisy ice machine. The terry cloth robes were very nice but the towels were a bit skimpy. I would definitely return.

The room was very nice but i a found dead insects on the widow sill. Also the handler in the shower for turning the water on was about to fall off

The property was a tad outdated, maybe that is what people are looking for, however the pics don't match the place in person. Not much to do in the area either, so maybe our fault for not checking

Clean and spacious rooms with great views. Great breakfast which is across the street from the hotel. Nice pool and hot tub. Need newer towels and wish we had microwave in the room.

They are very helpful and available in the property. Highly recommend

Staff was really helpful and friendly. Was able to check in early and the view from our room was great. Pool and jacuzzi area was nice and clean as well.

The view is gorgeous. The room was very nice and clean and services were great. However, the beds were hard and terribly uncomfortable. After 2 nights of little sleep, we both left with backaches. We were very disappointed given the high price of the room.

Nice place to stay, have good ocean view, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna,restaurant. Small parking size and roads in the property. Lot of bugs in the room. Shower need new shower head and extension.

Reminds me of Monterey. The grounds beautifully kept. Checking in at the desk was easy and fast. Staff pleasant and friendly. My large room had a large patio overlooking the bay. The swimming pool and spa were warm and inviting. I will definitely be coming back.

Everything was great including the delicious complimentary wine. Our only regret is it has no microwave.

So the Inn and receptionists, waitstaff fine dining restaurant were great. Food was phenomenal too. But the majority of the staff at the restaurant across the street were cold, unfriendly and a bunch of prudes. I politely asked one of the waiters if i could sit at the bar and he said “Well can you? Like physically. Go see the hostess she needs to do a headcount.” I go see the hostess and she was like hmm 1 person not sure let me see. Made a face and spoke to her colleague. This was when they had like 5 people in the restaurant. Shameful customer service. I’m complaining here about that place because it’s the same company.

Unfortunately the walls were very thin so we heard the parties next to us and the people above us. When the upstairs neighbors flushed a toilet it sounded like. Waterfall through the walls. Other than that it was a beautiful place.

Great experience. The room was very comfortable, attractive grounds, very friendly staff and a great view.

My mother and I stayed at the Tides for two nights. We had a ground floor room with two queen size beds, a mini fridge and a coffee maker. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There were trees but we still had a good view of the water from our windows and patio. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. We were steps away from the pool and gym area. The equipment in the gym was new and in good shape. The pool and spa were inviting. The buildings are on a hillside and the grounds are nicely kept. We had dinner the Bay View restaurant at the hotel which was excellent. In the morning we saw a family of quail in the bushes and heard owls in the trees. They provide breakfast at the Tides Wharf restaurant which is across the road. The continental breakfast is included with the reservation and you can order additional food for a discount. Doran beach is about a 10 minute drive. It was a relaxing weekend getaway. Recommended.

Our first room smelt like urain second one our phone didn’t work to order room service

Got married at The Tides in 1999 and just celebrated our 25th anniversary there. The bay views from our room were very good (parasurfers, sailors etc by day, impenetrable fog one night, clear meteor shower the next), the fireplace was cozy, landscaping is well maintained (no flowers when we were there in August, but had quail family below out window, deer is the adjacent meadow), continental breakfast was satisfying (served at the tides restaurant, we got a bayfront window and watched the seals, ducks, etc. swim by as we ate and quaffed coffee. … breaking away from the compound, enjoyed walks on Bodega Head and Doran Beach. … No complaints whatsoever. Was sad to leave the area. Will be back for an upcoming anniversary.

Property is beautifully landscaped. I spent one night here, it was very quiet. The only disappointment was the gym is not open early enough workout before checkout.
