Very attractive pub-hotel which has been sensitively restored and is full of character. Staff were lovely and very helpful and our room was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was amazing! One of the best I've had!

Excellent competitively priced hotel, only 15 mins from Oxford. Ideal for business trips.
Plenty of easy parking, and Dorchester on Thames is a quiet little town with very little traffic noise after rush hour.

Lovely coaching inn - beautiful bedroom and clean, modern bathroom. Some nice touches in the room, luxury toiletries.
Had dinner in the restaurant, great service from Kirsty - food was excellent and plentiful. Breakfast was extensive and very tasty. Would recommend and would love to return one day

We had an amazing stay. We loved the hotel and were made to feel very welcome. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The room was very comfortable with plenty of extras and a great shower.

Nice hotel. Originally an old coaching inn.Helpful and friendly staff. Food was good and reasonable selection. The room was clean and comfortable. Only downside was the public transport. Long walk for bus into Oxford which is not a car friendly city. Park and ride an option.We bussed in but got a taxi back for £30 Ish. Despite this we would recommend.

Great for vehicular access to Oxford, and good on site parking. No disturbance from road traffic at night.
Nice choice of cooked breakfast, Dean is clearly an experienced chef.

Nice hotel, staff all very helpful. If you are able to book ahead, the room prices are very reasonable.
It would be nice to have the dinner menu at least changing with the seasons.
Lovely quiet location at night, with no road noise although can get a little noisy from 6.30am onwards with deliveries and bin men driving over courtyard between most of the bedrooms.

The George is now my goto place when in the area on business. Not expensive, friendly, and good restaurant. Always afraid to recommend too highly in case it becomes too popular and I can’t get a room when I need one!!

The George Hotel was a great place to stay for my son's wedding at Fison Barn, Little Whittenham. We stayed for two nights and wished that we had booked for longer. The staff was excellent, the food was fantastic, and the rooms were characterful. My mother stayed in the accessible room and enjoyed the facilities easily. We hope to get back to you soon.

Great place! Beautiful decor, lovely village, pub is great! Breakfast was fantastic and such a good selection! Had a standard double, great size and facilities. Would absolutely recommend and would visit again!

Stayed at this great hotel a few times. Bags of character, it’s a very old building, so there are uneven floors and walls, if you’re tall you need to duck a lot through doorways, but that’s all part of the charm. The staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and clean, nice toiletries, and good coffee machine in the rooms. Food is good, the only complaint I have is there was never any granulated sugar when I asked for it which wasn’t great given most cereal at breakfast needed sugar!

Really easy to find and plenty of free parking. Walking up to the entrance was so beautiful with all the feature lighting and the church in the background. Staff so friendly and the room was just as it was shown in the pictures. Its so big and plenty of different areas to sit and have a drink and the decor was suitable to the history of the building. Food was lovely too. Stayed for one night but could of easily stayed longer.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and clean, the rooms being themed were abit of a surprise but that just added to the character. Breakfast was lovely and a good choice for all. Parking is handy, through quite a narrow entrance and is a bit ‘potholey’ but nothing you can’t navigate.
Not many shops around the area but there is a coop food a few doors away and plenty in nearby Wallingford to keep you supplied.
The only thing I will say is if you have the four poster bed and you’re remotely clumsy, watch your knees on the edge of the bed!

I'm becoming a regular at this hotel. I wish it was closer to the area where I work because I would stay here all the time. Brilliant food, staff, lovely themed rooms. Car parking, quiet, 15 minutes from Oxford and 40 minutes from Reading. Lovely village in the countryside.

The George Hotel is a lovely place to stay, it’s clean, has good parking facilities, tastefully decorates and the staff were friendly and helpful. would throughly recommend staying.
The only thing I would suggest is if you have any food allergies or intolerance to let them know before you stay. I’m intolerant to wheat and although they had a couple of options that were GF they didn’t really seem to cater for GF, but feel this was probably my mistake for not making them aware beforehand.
