This hotel shows no attention to the customer and prefer to lose a customer rather than changing a reservation date. Will never book this hotel again because of this poor customer service.

My stay at Mercure was exceptional. The staff made me feel right at home. I stay at this hotel every time I am in Algiers and are on a first name basis with a lot of the team. Sure there are some quirks that are typically dealt with immediately, but overall I have 0 complaints. I will certainly continue to make this my number one choice when I am staying in the area.

I made this booking last minute due to a flight change.
I was going to land around midnight and I tried calling to confirm airport shuttle and late check-in.
Nobody picked up when I called the number supplied with my booking.
I searched online and found an alternative number. The lady who picked up was extremely unhelpful and hang-up on me because she could not hear me well. I was speechless to say the least.
I asked somebody else to call them and finally got a mobile number to call the shuttle driver although getting in touch with the hotel after landing was just as difficult!
Things got better after arrival at the hotel. Check-in was speedy and Ayoub at reception was very helpful. The room was vintage and clean.
Check-out the next morning was speedy and staff were efficient too.
For a 4-star hotel, you would expect better service so it was a shame.

Hotel is very old almost 30-40 years, they did not change any equipment since this date. Most of rooms has awful smell, breakfast is very poor. I never suggest this hotel.

Girls from the desk were smiling but ignoring me to give me the room, WiFi... I had a long trip and I didn't feel well with their attention. Thanks to the lady from the front desk she helped me and she was very nice.
Breakfast at 8:30 was not nice, hot meals were almost over and they did not replace them. The cook left too.
Many things to improve if you compare Mercure in other cities

Very quiet room; clean hotel and friendly staff. Hotel is in Bab Ezzouar near Algiers airport and next to a shopping center with food court and coffee shops.

Only booked this hotel as wanted somewhere with a pool after two weeks travelling around. Didn't find out until we got there that the pool was empty and was not expected to be back in use for at least 10 days. Looking at the poolside area I don't think it had been used for a while. Thought we'd use the bar, that was filled with what looked like a medical conference. Room was very dated. No plug sockets near the bed, had to unplug the fridge to plug in the kettle.
Positives were the super comfy bed and the free airport shuttle.

This hotel needs a total refurbishment. The staff is nice and try their best. The carpets were changed in some rooms dears ago. However all the rest remains like in the 90s. Not normal in an Accor hotel. Sad. :-(

Good location close to the airport, taxi 1000DA or free hotel shuttle bus. Rooms ok, restaurant overpriced, chose to eat across the street (excellent meat) or in the nearby shopping mall (for example Taste of India).
Taxi to the city center is recommended outside of rush hours.

All is great, love the hotel, but there are two permanent issues:
1- too much chlore in the pool
2- there is always smthg wrong the the shower, either the cold water handle does not function, or you cant hold water in the bath, or smthg is missing.. but overall i like and recommend the hotel. Great location, good restaurant and variety.

Good buffet breakfast and a few different restaurants for dinner. Rooms a bit dated but clean and no issues. Left a few free bottles of water, soft drinks and juice in fridge each day. Staff seemed helpful. Wifi seemed good but colleague in another room seemed to hit a data limit after some streaming.

The hotel is very clean and modern - really an international standard hotel. The location is not so good in terms of being able to get out to walk around visit restaurants etc. However, several restaurants, pool etc are in the hotel. Internet so far seems about the best I have yet experienced in AnnAlgiers hotel.
