We just returned after staying 6 nights at Vila Gale Atlântico, 2 adults and 2 young kids. This has been our 6th trip to Gale so we know the are fairly well . The hotel is located by a lovely sandy long beach , ideal for families with young kids like us. Gale is a much quieter, nicer and dare me to say upper class area than the crowds found in Albufeira town, nice restaurants, beach bar and stunning clean beach , it really is a little gem . If you are looking for the cheap drinks, karaoke bars, late music bars etc then you must stay out of Gale as not for you, this is a quiet nice area. Vila Gale Altlantico - we booked a sea view suite , hotel location is excellent just 5 minutes walking to beach and with our favourite supermarket Apolonia down the road ( you can get Portuguese take away food to hotel/pizza/sushi, the quality of the food is very good). There is also a number of restaurantes walking distance from hotel although a car is highly reccommended to one exploring the area. Hotel—Reception: very beautiful decor, modern , luxurious feel . Check-in however very unimpressive, we were mostly just handled our keys, no information given so we had to return to Reception a number of times to ask for things . Also we felt staff a bit rigid. Room : very spacious, very clean , lovely see views from second floor. Yes decor a bit outdated but didn’t bother us. Facilities: nice pools, indoor pool was cold , games room, jacuzzi . Would definitely return .

Nice staff, close to the beach with good places to eat close by, which is good as the food served at this hotel is luke warm and lacks flavour

Our second visit to this hotel - we really enjoyed our week at the Atlântico.

I liked, its clean and its a great place for litle kids.

Location - less than five minute walk to the beach. Lovely pool, never felt crowded. Good option of indoor pool available too. Very good buffet breakfast. Good sized room with useful kitchenette area. Friendly, efficient staff. We’d stay there again.

A very nice resort with excellent view in pool and to the sea. Minutes of drive to the beach, and convenient to access stores and restaurant nearby.

Easy walking distance to a fun beach (Galé). Perfect hotel for families with young kids with the playground and waterslides. Room can use some updating and a deep cleaning. Bed was awful. Beware that if you get 3 twin beds that it means 2 twin beds pushed together and a roll in bed.

This hotel is located about 10 minutes by car from downtown Albufeira where the action is. On the upside the location is very close to Playa Galé which is beautiful beach where you walk West a long way to the next fishing village. The hotel staff are kind and helpful. The outdoor pool area is nice with lots of chairs. The room we stayed in had a separate bedroom and partial kitchen which a little tired. Vinyl flooring is a positive alternative to carpet.

Lovely hotel. Reception staff very helpful when booking a trip for us. Amazing food in the restaurant and the staff there are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. We didnt want to leave and will hopefully be returning soon!

very good hotel with great veiws .but a little out of town not much for kids

Hotel was nice and so were the rooms. Very close to the beach. Worst part was the 2 women on reception. Terrible service does not even describe it. Not only were they rude when I asked for my room to be moved but one of them huffed at us and told us we were causing her problems and stormed off leaving us open mouthed at the desk. The manager then came out, a very nice man. I explained that my friend was pregnant and it was not practical to be given a ground floor room next to the main lift and over looking the pool (Room 28 I think) where they have entertainment going on until midnight. He then agreed to swap our room, surprising because one of the rude women at reception told us they were fully booked. We then moved all our belongings to the new room and was shocked to be asked to move after 15 minutes when they "conveniently" got a call from the time share owner saying he was on his way and needed to stay there. So after debating that this was unacceptable and then to be asked to move again, we finally moved to room 8. The 2 ladies on reception are the rudest staff I have ever dealt with in a hotel.

the hotel was great apart from the changing facilities on the indoor pool. suggest you take a robe and flip flops and then use your room to change.

Excellent location, pool and grass surrounding were ideal. Rooms were good,breakfast very good quality but maybe slightly cramped seating area. Staff were quite dour and not as efficient as they could be. Hotel bar was most disappointing part as cramped,and poorly staffed. Nice bar around the corner though. Very peaceful and relaxing all in all and would defintely return there.

from the outside it looks ok...inside is well presented..staff at reception desk were not helpful in any way. Me and my husband went for a weeks relaxing break, we had an early filght which ment we were at the hotel by 10am.We were tried and excited so jus wanted to get into our room and freshen up and start our holiday..only to find out that there was no room ready and there wouldnt be until 2pm..imagine our horror..anyway..fine we waited and got our room at 2:30pm only to find there was no balancony!.my husband had enough at this point and said lets not worry lets just live without it.so we did..Breakfast was rubbish and since we were not all inclusive it would have had to pay 20 euros each for an evening meal, so i would suggest eating out..there a lovely little restraunts everywhere which 2 people can eat and drink within 25 euros. The beach is a 3 min walk if u use the shortcuts..and is beautiful..we also made good use of the water sports offered on the beach..jet skiing parasailing etc. the main strip is 20 min journey from hotel..however i would suggest the old town for food and a real european experience..the bars can be expensive so be perpared to spend..shops are really over priced so try and haggle..all in all yes i would go back but to a different hotel..Algrave is amazing perfect for families and couples and larger parties..have fun!!

Nice quiet place to stay if that's what you want, practically on the beach. Need taxis if you want to get to the centre of Albufeira.
