We stayed here the night before we flew home after 3 weeks in Costa Rica visiting family. I was nervous as some of the reviews online are not great but, they are truly an unfair representation. The hotel is huge and has lots of amenities. My boys loved the pool and the games area. The room was a little dated but the beds were comfortable and the water was lovely and hot in the big bathroom. The towels were fluffy and separate pool towels provided by reception. The breakfast was great, everything from pinto and fruits through to cereal, bread and pastries. The staff have been really attentive the whole stay.

Everything and everyone was wonderful. Monica at the front desk was so helpful and kind. 5 stars to her specifically.

The breakfast buffet was amazing!

Very beautiful hotel, with lots of space and very friendly staff. Lots of pools and a swim up bar was awesome. Only downside was no hispanic foods on the hotel menu.

The Wyndham is an older hotel, but it's BIG and nice! The layout is nice, the pool area is awesome, there's plenty of spaces to do remote work, & the staff were very nice. I would def come back here again.

Good location for getting to the airport with free shuttle that takes you there. Staff was pleasant. Big place and hard to keep up without investing a lot of money to do so. Breakfast was good. Would have to do better for the membership to make it worthy to become a part of the Wyndham Club or of any kind of exchange option.

Very friendly staff, including security and shuttle drivers

Despite some negative reviews i read, this property is awesome. My room was spacious and a balcony facing what you'd say is their backyard and part of the area where free breakfast is served. I didn't mind that at all. I wanted quiet and I got quiet. The pool which i took as beling to the building where my room was located was very nice. There is a common area on the way to that pool where you will find a pool table, chess and connect-four tables. There are 2 restaurants inside the property. Quattro and Pirate. If you're is drinking, try Pirate. A casino is located right next to it. If you like exploring like I do, walk over the bridge and you will find some other restaurants. Watch out though, there is a 13% tax and a 10-15% in "service fee" (tip) in most restaurants. Conveniently, there is also a car rental place in the prop. Cristina was a doll. Her service was second to none. There is from and to airport shuttle. Tip accordingly. The staff in general are excellent. Everywhere you go you will get a "con mucho gusto" (it's a pleasure) I will definitely patronize this place again. Check out pics. on their website, what you see is what you get.

Horrible Experience - Stay Away from This Hotel! I had an absolutely awful stay at the Wyndham San Jose Hotel. I woke up covered in over a dozen bedbug bites. When I reported it to management, they completely ignored my concerns. After waiting for the room service manager to come (who even took photos of the bites), they later lied and claimed no insects were found in the room. It was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the hotel also has cockroaches, and the rooms reek of mold. Everything is extremely outdated and poorly maintained. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. If you care about cleanliness and decent service, stay far away from this place!

Property was nice. Booked a junior king suite, Upon checking the front desk said that my room wasn’t available. He then gave me a regular king room, since it was midnight arrival I was jet lagged and took room didn’t have time to go back and forth, the next morning went to front desk and told them for some reason I did not get the accommodations I paid for and would like my junior king suite. The lady said ok I have to wait until after 11am when the cleaning staff comes then she would change my room. I then told her I will leave my luggage with my sister in her room and I returned the key basically checking out of the standard king room. When I came back from my tour I went to front desk and a different clerk said he did not see the memo in system to fix my room and proceeded to give me same room from previous night. I then told him I paid for a junior suite with separate living room area and unless they are going to reimburse the difference between the rooms that is what I want. He then went in computer again and assigned suite with living room. I don’t understand if I paid extra for certain accommodation why they were trying to give me a standard room if they had rooms available .

Many mistakes with the check in, duplicating room with other customer and very aggressive for check out
