The Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan was the nicest hotel I've stayed at in a while. Staff were quick and friendly and helped us with any questions. The room was very spacious and had a great view of the city. Overall, we will definitely be back.

SHANGRI LA DO HAVE A WORLDWIDE RENOWN HOTEL GROUP, UNFORTUNATLY THIS PROPERTY IS AGED, NEED TO IMPROVE. FOR BREAKFAST, NOT IMPRESSIVE, BY 0900HRS THEY DIDN'T REPLENISH THE FOOD JUST HAVE WHATEVER IS AVAILABLE. OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE, OTHERS IS GOOD AND CONVENIENCE

Check in smooth and room was great. The staffs were good and efficient. They gave a small cake to celebrate my friend bdae. Breakfast buffet was good, and lounge access food was decent and wines & beers available. Near railway station and it had direct access to shopping mall. Overall enjoy the stay.

The room is very spacious and the gym is well-equipped with a lovely swimming pool packed with families.
The condition of the room is abit old and toilet bowl is a little smelly.

The location was close to the train. Very old but well known establishment but it is beginning to look too dated.

Hotel is next to the train station (not High Speed Rail, but regular Taiwan Rail), so it’s easy to hop on the train to go to adjacent cities such as Kaohsiung. Services are excellent. But my room has a distinct smell like Indian spice, which bothered me and my family. Besides that, it’s all good.

Room is super spacious and staff are friendly. The elevators are slow during ‘rush hour’ but otherwise an excellent place to stay.

Very nice hotel. Not super close to center Tainan but easy to grab a cab.
Rooms are spacious - we had a high floor with a gorgeous view of the ocean.
We also utilized the breakfast buffet and truly one of the best selections of native cuisines and exotic selection of sushi and ample fresh fruits.
Our kids loved the pool and we took advantage of it on multiple occasions. Overall a very pleasant experience - would come back again 100%.

Great location right across the street from Tainan train station. Rooms are spacious with great views out of large windows. Has gym, sauna, swimming pool and spa services. Overall best hotel especially for the price.

This was my first trip to Taiwan and I’d highly recommend the Shangri-La hotel. All staff speaks English and are very high-service oriented. For example, there weren’t any microwaves available in the rooms, so housekeeping offered to reheat our leftovers from a restaurant and served it to us beautifully plated. The hotel is situated next to the local train station so it’s convenient to get to via public transportation. There’s also a big mall next door with great restaurants as well as good quality fast food restaurants, bakeries that serve coffee & espresso drinks. There’s a bridge over the train tracks so you can easily walk across to the central district of Tainan which is way more busy & congested. There was a slight problem with our original room, they were so concerned and fixed the problem immediately.

Tainan train station is very near the hotel, we took a train from Tainan train station to Tainan HSR. Very convenient.

Obviously, this is an upscaled property - conveniently close to the train station and a mall. We loved our experience there; however, there were some construction going on outside of the hotel. Other than that - it was a perfect stay!
