Wow the staff is so organized and thoughtful. They thought of things we didn't think of that made our stay even better. The Shangri-la is by far the best resort we have stayed at and we have stayed at Four Seasons, St Regis, Fairmont and JW Signature resorts all over the world. Shangri-la cannot be beat.

We are guests who checked out on August 4th. We stayed in villa 34 and reserved name is Nahyun Lee.
This was my second visit to Shangri-La in Boracay, so I booked it expecting the same experience as before, but this time it was the worst experience. The staff told me to send an email to the manager, so I sent this email, so please check it and reply asap.
That day, We clearly heard the machinery warning sound coming from bedroom door at 5 o'clock and woke up to the sound. After that, we contacted our villa manager's personal contact cell phone and the manager came soon. The manager said there was no problem and left.
Because of that problem, we had no choice but to wake up early and go to the spa before breakfast, but this time the key was a problem.
After the spa, the room wouldn't open, so we had to stand outside in our pajamas and wait for the buggy driver, and the key problem was repeated twice.
So we were finally able to eat breakfast at 7:50.
The appointment with the pickup driver was at 8:00, but for the above reason, we had to eat breakfast in a hurry for 10 minutes.
We had to eat breakfast in a hurry for the remaining 10 minutes. In the meantime, the manager urged us, saying that the pick-up driver was waiting.
I want answers about strange noises in the early hours of the morning, wasting precious time before check-out due to a malfunctioning key card, and leaving a guest in his pajamas outside for the purpose of checking in.
It was the worst honeymoon.

Shangri-la never disappoints. My only complain this time is the Rema Restaurant. We made a reservation there for our last night at the hotel as some sort of a celebration. The restaurant was described as mediterranean. The food was nowhere close to mediterranean. The food in Jollibee would have tasted better, yet it was so overpriced. The mosquito was overpowering the dinner experience.

Shangri-La Boracay is truly a magical, tropical paradise. The hotel is situated at the end of the island with a private beach. All the staff provided excellent services and should be commended as such. The food is excellent as well. It was very hard for us to leave this place, so we plan on coming back.

Our stay was excellent, except that the airconditioner was not working properly. Our balcony door was closed but the temp was still hot, despite adjusting room temp to 18deg. It was hot in our room. Had to call maintenance twice Couldn’t sleep properly.

Had a great stay. It was nice to have boat service and ground transportation from the airport. We arrived early after a long flight from SFO, and they gave us a room to shower while our villa was prepared. The only issue I had was we splurged on a tree house Villa, you would have expected to see the ocean from bed instead of trees. Sounds weird to say but the upstairs had a beautiful view and the other villas were situated to see a beautiful view…but for some reason they stuck us in the corner.
Otherwise the service was great, food was great, amenities were great…but I would recommend just getting a normal beachfront room.

I had high hopes given the good reviews but we were quite disappointed. We booked 3 nights at the Shangri La Boracay, and had a very problematic stay due to so many issues. To keep it objective, here are are pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Food program was solid all across the resort, though breakfast is quite crowded, so come early for that.
2. Facilities are beautiful and well kept, including 2 beaches and if you have kids, the entertainment center has all sorts of arcade and board games
3. Rooms are spacious
4. They have a robust activity schedule, but note most activities cost extra, like kayaking and paddle-boarding.
Cons:
1. Service is inconsistent all across. We noticed a lot of inefficiencies and lack of communication between teams. For example, disturbance from cleaning staff unnecessarily ringing our room 15 times on two days after the room had already been “cleaned”.
2. Power went out at least 5 times every day across the entire resort. Even in good weather.
3. Internet is very poor
4. TVs are small and hard to cast. Not all rooms have Apple TV.
5. Cleanliness was not at a 5-star level. We had an incident where we found living cockroaches crawling over the bar area. More on this below.
6. Spa massage (03/28) was awful and extremely painful. Likely one of the worst I’ve ever had. The masseuse (Dolly) did not care I was sunburnt and was quite unprofessional in her delivery, exhibiting an angry demeanour.
7. Food is overpriced - a 25% markup

Amazing resort for a resort of its size.
Seamless transfer from Caticlan airport vi their lounge and speedboat to island makes a perfect way to arrive.
We stayed in a premier Seaview room which was large and well equipped and maintained. Comfy bed and soft sheets. Cleaning was exceptional and nightly turndown was thorough. Beaches are beautiful, great beach service with water, cold towels and ice cream.
Always space on the loungers as pool boys clear left towels. Sizeable swimming pool.
Breakfast was the most diverse I have seen, great coffee and eggs to order as well as sushi, Asian specialities and more western breakfast options. No sparkling wine which I would have expected at this level resort. Breakfast never felt like the bun fight it sometimes can with option to sit inside or outside.
Food in all outlets was really good. Sundowners on the beach was special due to low key live music. Regular free shuttle into town to White beach if you want to venture out.
Only downside we saw was on our last evening there was a big company party in the hotel as well as a wedding meaning there were no quiet dining outlets...you ended up hearing loud music from two directions. We did complain and got given a refund on our food but it doesn't give us the time back! From the reaction this is clearly a regular issue...I would suggest they notify guests that there will be disruption or noise so that you can decide to leave the resort if you want.

Amazing resort. The service was excellent. The rooms are lovely and very good condition. The pool area is excellent and both of the beaches are world class. The pool definitely exceeded our expectations and was excellent and the breakfast buffet was a delight. Absolutely dream vacation.

From start to finish, our experience at the hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the amenities exceeded our expectations. The only minor inconvenience was the frequent requests to provide our room number, which felt a bit excessive. However, this small issue did not detract from an otherwise wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

The staff were exceptional and always there to help with a smile. The hotel was beautiful and clean and room was amazing with gorgeous views of the beach and sea.

From the moment you land to the moment you leave, the staff look after you. Every staff member greets you and smiles even down to the grounds keepers. The service in the restaurants was also excellent. The only slight thing it loses out on is that although it looks spectacular, it is looking a bit tired in places. Although when we were there they were renovating the villa next ours so I think this is a work in progress 😁

Best hotel stay by far! Shangri-la exceeded our expectations! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights 4 days! The pool, gym, saunas were great! Unfortunately we were unable to get a reservation at the spa since they were fully booked at the time we arrived. Thankfully the hotel provided a free shuttle to the Boracay strip mall and we were able to find a nice spa down there and walk the town as well. The restaurant choices were nice at Shangri-la. Our room and view was amazing! They also accommodated us with a nice bottle of wine, two swan towel creations on our bed, a bubble bath with flower petals! The whole staff at the resort was exceptional. The beach and pool was nice! We cannot forget the amazing breakfast buffet! That was amazing with so many food options! We miss it already! We cannot wait to go back to Shangri-la on our next Boracay stay!
