I received a message right after booking saying need to pay additional tax at arrival (a lot more than listed in the description) after already booked a non-refunded rooms for several nights. At arrival, we were told the room for us was in another building. We opened the back door to get to the building and found that this hostel is actually in the “red light” zone - no mention of it anywhere in the description of the property.

Clean and comfortable hostel. Wasn't loud or nosiy. They provide towels and soap.

Stayed for one night with my family which included 3 children. This was my first time staying in a hostel so only booked one night. I was really surprised at how clean it was. The showers and toilets were also surprisingly clean (shared showers n toilets). The breakfast which was included was very good with a lot of variety to set you up for the day. Check in was fast and all the staff were friendly. I dropped something down the side of one of the bunk beds and couldn’t retrieve it, the staff on shift came straight up and got it out for me ( can’t remember his name-hulk) I also met the deputy manager who was very nice. The only negative I had was the tv was not working, the same staff member who retrieved my item from under the bed tried to get it working but couldn’t and he said he would get it fixed the next day, but we was only staying one night, but this wasn’t a big deal. Overall I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this accommodation.

For saying it has the word hostel in the title. It's actually an excellent budget hotel. One of the biggest downsides though was the 30 minute walk to the museumplein for the airport shuttle bus. No hotel pickup was a bummer. But generally really good, ideal location. I would probably suggest hiring a bike and doing it Dutch style. The location is good but, if you don't like a lot of walking then it may not be for you.

Nice hotel in a great location, the center of town and transportation. The room was small but remodeled and comfortable. The breakfast was good with a variety. The staff was very nice.

It’s FANTASTIC! Best location in Amsterdam. Shared bathroom scares you? Not a problem, they are perfectly clean and just a few steps away. Loved it. We are a family of 5 and it was just perfect.

It was a hassle trying to find this location. The street entrance was closed for construction, so check-in was in an alley in a building different from the actual hostel. The hostel did not have a working elevator, stairs only, and the whole site was under construction. The bathrooms were always filthy and flooded with water, and the rooms were very crowded. There were lockers that could fit small carry-on luggage, but no instructions on how to set the code on them. The beds had curtains, which was great, and breakfast was left in sack lunch bags outside of the door. There was dust and insulation and construction all around. Also, it's right in the middle of the sex work district, so if you're not comfortable with that, you'll likely want to be indoors by 5pm. Wouldn't recommend.
