It's clean and well situated.

While we enjoyed our stay there were A Couple of issues 1. No change for large denominations 2. Smell of cigarette smoke coming into our room - when someone smoking on balcony -suggest they have a non smoking area away from smoking - 3 let people know there will be a feee pick up on arrival at port Good things - staff At restaurant were Excellent and very friendly

Nice place close to town, but beds as hard as stone, purest wi-fi and forget to clean the rooms. Personal not happy to hear the complaints. Disapointing

Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The villa was beautiful and comfortable. They took care of every need. Food was delicious. Massage was outstanding. I want to stay here when I come back.

Had a lovely stay at Koh Tao Montra Resort. Always hard to tell what a property will actually be like when booking online, but we were focused on a good pool and decent sized rooms as we were travelling with Grandma and teens. Pool was nice and big and clean. Rooms were clean and very large. Property was very quiet and peaceful. We had an issue with the ceiling leaking when the A/C was on. They came and did a quick fix but it persisted. We just caught the water with a bucket and left it alone as maintenance didn't seem to worried about it. The location is on Mae Haad beach but is pretty close to Sairee beach (15 min walk). The bustling area of Mae Haad is only a 3-5 min walk from the hotel and there are lots of restaurants, 7-eleven, shops, etc. Would stay at Koh Tao Montra again.

Great hotel, friendly staff even if they don’t all speak english super friendly. Good breakfast and close to everything by foot.

Great service from front office! Asked for groundfloor in booking online and got a quick answer and confirmation on that. Also very friendly and helpful on site. The rooms are so big and nice, great for family! Good waterpressure and hot water in sink. The restaurant could be more on there toes, a lot of food on the menu not awalible and took a really long time to get the food! (didn't try the breakfast or lunch buffé) Overall a really nice place and god value for the money!

Very expensive for the quality and standard of service and facility. For the price we expected much more. Food and refreshments served at breakfast was very poor. No soap, minimal toilet paper until requested. Rooms and overall hotel facilities are very tired and neglected. The rates for this hotel need to be reviewed so guests can feel they get what they pay for!

Outstanding facilities and location definitely stay here again

We have been to Montra many times in the past, but have not visited for a number of years. As other reviewers say, the property needs updating. Silly things, like knobs missing from drawers, cupboards and doors not opening or closing properly. There was one day when we went down to breakfast and there was absolutely nothing there, not even coffee. Pool towels were also a problem. However, having said that, we still love Montra. The pool is fantastic, the rooms are large, beds comfortable and the location is wonderful - right on the beach. Staff are also helpful and friendly. We would have no hesitation going back and the resort could be really beautiful if only they would maintain it better.

We don't like having our room cleaned everyday but the housekeepers went above and beyond to make our stay great by leaving bottles of water, toilet paper and fresh towels attached to our door. This is the kind of detail that makes me come back to hotels. Also the pool was one of the best we had, ever.

This was a very poor hotel and only a 2* at a push... the staff are lovely and bed is comfortable but the hotel condition is in need of up grade. Dining area is very poir and grubby. The pool towels have bleach marks all over them, abd hoing out for the day and realising on an excursion thst the towel has lots of bleach is not good. I would not reccomend this hotel far nicer and better around for the same money

Great pool, location was quiet, rooms were 5 star, the beds weren’t hard as rock like many other places we stayed. Solid breakfast.

The staff was absolutely amazing and the sunset was breathtaking. We rented the big room with a private pool and the room and bathroom was spacious. I wouldn't pay for the buffet breakfast as you can get a better breakfast in town. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel, really big rooms and close to the pier and beach.

For us food is okay.lactation very good.

Good value for money, room was nice enough although a little small. Some areas seemed a bit dated. Only stayed for one night arrived late and left early! Staff were not overly friendly no assistance offered with luggage to the room.

Pool area was nice and the location was close to the pier and main town

We booked the villa. According to the description it has its own backyard directly to the beach. In reality, it's more like it has a padio that is completely filled up with sunbeds, no backyard and definitely not directly to the beach. They had to change our room because the roof in the first villa was leaking. They wouldn't change it without a fight first though. The second villa didn't have a leak in the roof, but the shower heads was all chalked up. We had to remove the chalk ourselves to be able to take a shower. We didn't take any baths since there was no hot water for the tub. The aircondition didn't work in either of the vilas. The reception closes at 10 pm. After that you are on your own but that's not necessarily a bad thing, because the reception staff are angry, aggressive and generally uncooporative. We left and checked in with Crystal Dive instead. Much better!
