Charming and quaint hotel and room. Would definitely stay again. Minor feedback would be to suggest ensuring that there are mirrors added to the room itself. There was only one mirror and it was located in the bathroom. Made it a bit challenging to get ready.

Cute hotel and room, plenty of space. Great location, staff was lovely. Was very confused about our bathroom sink. Couldn't wash our faces in it.

Great location downtown, 7 minute walk to ferry. Nice rooms, beautiful courtyard to sit and have coffee.

Amazing location, beautiful property and comfortable in every way. Highly recommend!

My room was not much larger than the bed. No dresser, a makeshift closet, no place to open the suitcase except the floor, no chair, an inoperative safe, no cup or glass for a drink of tap water, and hugely overpriced. $700 plus per night. Ridiculous.

We were not able to access our room till 2 hours after check in. 6pm. I understand they offered an upgrade but it was minor considering I had already paid for a nice room and the upgrade was not substantial enough to warrant waiting for 2 hours while only being on the island one evening. We weren’t even able to use much of the amenities at this beautiful property because we had so much to do and reserved. Our dinner reservations were pushed a few hours which made us miss the sunset! It also seemed that the hotel was overwhelmed with guests checking in that the WiFi or property software program had significant issues loading which created an even longer wait and cluster of guests who seemed a little bit short tempered.it is a very beautiful hotel and we had a friend who helped launch life house who recommended this property specifically to us. Sad that it wasn’t the best of experiences.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Faraway Hotel on Nantucket, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk staff, who were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They made the check-in process smooth and even provided me with a map of the island, highlighting all the best spots to visit. The hotel itself was beautiful and impeccably maintained, with an exceptionally big king size room that provided a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the island. The amenities were top-notch, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping everything spotless. Can’t wait to come back!!!

The old floors squeaked loudly. Could hear water running down pipes and every step above us. Window 5 feet from next building and window. We saw chef working in kitchen, so we had to keep drapes always down.

Love this hotel so much, but the noise is really terrible. Between the walls and floors being thin, be ready to not sleep. Oh and the trash trucks every morning at 6:30am is also a joy. Beautiful place but not quiet at all.

For what the cost of the stay was $945.00 to share a hallway bath with no services was crazy.

It is a beautiful property and I would stay again. My only complaints are that the front desk is hard to contact and our room was very noisy making it hard to sleep.

Very subpar room for the price. Bathroom had mold in the tile caulking. Sloped ceiling. Hubby kept bumping his head on it.. found some random hairs in the room. But, bed is very comfortable, so there’s that.

Hotel is the best deal in town! Be prepared for a small room with big furniture. It’s all very nice but definitely tiny. Bathroom is not very well maintained or cleaned but again it’s so tiny it would be a challenge to clean quickly. Bar and restaurant is very nice but doesn’t open until 5 so if you want to spend time enjoying the space during the day BYOB.

We did enjoy our stay here. Excellent location with equally excellent restaurant on site. Beach chairs and towels are available but there is only one umbrella for the hotel. We arrived at 7am to get it when the lobby opens and the young kid who was running the desk showed up about 45min late to work. We left to grab a coffee which was also promised to be available at 7am and by the time we got back at 8am they had given it away. The staff member couldn’t have cared less which I didn’t find accommodating. I also think at $1500 per night they could have a few more umbrellas on hand. That being said the other staff was mostly lovely but a bit more training would help for the younger staff.

Was after 4 for check in. Unexpected resort tax on on Expedia. And got email saying owed more money when I asked what for no details. Hate to feel nickel and dimed. On a more positive note very convenient to everything.

Walkways were completely decorated with many exotic plants and shrubs. The hallways and stairs were air conditioned. The rooms were clean and complete with minibar fridge and bathroom with upscale shower. Bed was comfy. Room rate was the most we’ve ever paid, but no regrets for choosing Faraway Hotel on Nantucket. Walking distance to harbor ferry, restaurants, bars, shops and also to the shuttle for the Cisco brewery.

Upon arrival the front desk host was very frazzled and checkin was not seamless. Room cleanliness was not good - dirty floors and bathroom was not cleaned properly. Cable tv was not working. No phone in room to reach front desk.

The public facing part of the property is lovely. Our room/stay was fair. I knew it wasn’t going to be large, but I didn’t expect so much wasted space. There was only 1 hook in the entire place (in the bathroom). Where should we hang our bathing suits? Where should we hang our towels? There was one large wall that had plenty of space to put hooks. And the only thing they used that wall for was a non-smart television (which was very disappointing on its own!) and a very tiny piece of art that didn’t go with the decor at all. There was a lovely armoire, but again with wasted space. It needs shelves! There was also a nightstand that could have contained shelves but instead was simply decorative. The air conditioner was extremely loud; I reached down on the floor to get something that fell and found all kinds of disgusting dust bunnies. Two of the days we were there, our room was not serviced at all. Both of those days someone knocked on the door and asked if we wanted service. I said yes, that we were leaving in just a couple of minutes. Apparently leaving in a couple of minutes is code for please don’t come service my room? Also, there was no phone in the room, so in order to get anything you had to go walk to the front desk and ask for it. We were not terribly far away, but we were far enough that it was inconvenient. The staff was nice, but they need to learn to say hello even if they’re in the middle of something! Overall I’ve paid less and gotten more, even on Nantucket.

Somewhat outdated and expensive hotel in comparison to other hotels in the area.
Beware of the rooms with shared bathrooms! This is not acceptable in this day and age!

There’s a lot left to be desired at this property. Very noisy in rooms - doors slam, conversations can be heard. No water in rooms. Confusing check-in area that feels like a hallway and is always seemingly in chaotic state. Little closet space and small area in bathroom (king bedroom). I guess appropriate for 4 star.

Lovely location in town, quiet street. Decor was eclectic and chic. Room spacious but up a steep flight of stairs and this is where the Faraway takes a nose dive. Service. None to speak of. No porters, no housekeeping - even if you request it (which I did) they never showed up. If I wanted to stay at a B & B I would have but when you pay hotel prices, you expect service with that. The staff that does exist are obviously not trained in hospitality, they are clearly anyone they could get to work the front desk - no “Welcome” but rather “Checking in?” not friendly, same upon checking out - no, “how was your stay”, “please come again”, “THANK YOU”! They did store our luggage upon check out so we didn’t have to lug it around before our ferry but other than that, I can’t speak of the lack of service here enough. No breakfast option except an understaffed coffee bar in the lobby of the sister restaurant which served croissants - which they were out of when I went. A complimentary self serve coffee bar would be an inexpensive way to add some much needed hospitality to its guests. This is a pricey hotel that need to elevate its staff and service to match its elevated decor and price.

Hotel was great. Loved having the patio for BYOB drinks/snacks when restaurant not open. Bikes available was nice, did not have space for much in metal basket with grids so couldn’t put phone and metal water bottles clanged loudly. Wish there was complimentary in room coffee, not sure I’ve ever stayed somewhere without offering coffee. $13 for morning coffee every morning, coffee was tasty though. Would stay again.

Hotel is beautiful well kept, perfectly clean and in a perfect location. Here are the items that kept us giving a higher score:
1-Not a single drawer to be found in the room.
2-The armoire has a broken roller guide on the left door so it does not open or close properly.
3-The HVAC unit in the room would not function correctly nor comfortably regulate room temperature. So we opened the windows at night to have a tolerable sleeping temperature and that subjected us to late night guest and street noises.
4-The trash collection bins are apparently just outside our (open) windows and our daily (much too early) wake up call was the sanitation collection trucks. --every day--
5- The fridge contained items leftover from previous guests. It had not been serviced. And fee based items were missing (water and sunscreen) from our room basket. We brought this to the attention of the hotel and we're not charged for them. (Thank you)
6- Bathroom details. Again no shelf in the shower for shaving supplies or any toiletry items. Also when the room had been serviced no one noticed we had no shower gel. The bottle was empty. We were given a replacement but it was not installed, and as there are no shelves, we had no place to keep the shower gel but on the shower floor. Also ...No place to store or hang wet washcloths. Not nearly enough hooks or racks for damp towels. I know the goal of minimalism in design thinks of these as too fussy but guest comfort does require a place to hang a few
