Older facility yet well taken care of. I loved the easy access to the beach, onsite restaurant for breakfast and nice swimming pool.

Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Right on beach couldn’t ask for better. Nice pool. Rooms simple but clean. Beds comfy. Would like a kettle.

The area was noisy, the mattress on bed uncomfortable, the Restaurant service was good, Low quality of food, prices too high. Sorry we won’t come back to this place.

The location of this place is the key - it's quiet and secluded yet a 30 second walk to the beach and a 5-minute walk to dozens of restaurants, bars, and gift shops.

Fabulous location

Great location. Hotel was clean and staff was attentive. The hotel itself is a bit of a ghost of what it was. Nice rooms and pool but in need of an injection of money to update the entire place.

“Loft room” accessed by a steep spiral staircase with a broken railing. Glass blocks in the shower and for an exterior wall. Makes for embarrassed teens not wanting to shower since they’re visible to the room. Turning on the bathroom light illuminates the entire room. No shades or blankets so we slept under towels. Low ceiling under one of the twin bed so one child hit her head a few times. Strange locked doors to the room we didn’t have keys to and no idea where they go or what they’re for. Staff indifferent to our complaints. They also charged in full 3 weeks out and said it was completely non refundable when we wanted to leave, which isn’t the policy on Expedia. It is close to the beach but where people are camping next to public bathrooms.

Our room, for whatever reason, was at the bottom of the food chain. It was very small with no shelve space, countertop space or hand towels in the bathroom. We tried to change rooms but were offered three nights in a different room and would have to change for the last night of our stay. We kept the room and dealt with it. The location of the facility was superb as was the staff. We saw that they had better rooms. It's a beach town, period. overall, it was a nice stay but i might look further if there was a next time.

Property is what you pay for. Location is great. Right on the beach.

The place has a ton of potential. Id live to see the owners do some upgrades, fis the obvious with some uogrades to the facilities. Add a hot tub, fix the water situation. Id buy the restaurant next door and have a nice place that is open for bfast lunch and dinner and also have a bar on site oh and absolutely need ice on site or out freezers in the rooms. Staff are awesome and lication is superb. Saw more monkeys and alithes on site than anywhere else. Id still go back as is, but do what i said and youd make more cash in the ling run They have great staff

Best thing going for it was location. One of the very few hotels with direct beach access. Less than a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. The description when we booked said “kitchenette and cooking utensils” we assumed (wrongly) that we would be able to cook. There was a toaster, microwave and fridge and a 1 cup coffee maker, we were four adults. I had to go to the front desk to request additional dishes, cutlery and glassware as there were not 4 of anything. The grounds and walk-ways are in dire need of a rake, a sweep and a mop. The restaurant has 5 tables and is surrounded with green metal fencing, a section of it looks abandoned. Overall unappealing. The pool was nice. To be clear, we are not fussy, this was our 29th hotel in 12 weeks in Central America, all within the same price range. Probably still recovering from 2 years of shutdown, but still the place could use a little TLC.

Great location on the beach and lots of monkeys and other animals around hotel. Housekeeping swrvice was hreat and very friendly. Rooms need updating, some things showed age such as the ceiling fans. No ice trays in freezor, No stove top offered in larger rooms for self cooking, only shampoo in shower with no conditioner, No coffee provided daily although small coffee pot in room.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Verde Mar! I was pleasantly surprised that the property wasn't just located near the beach, but it is directly on it. It took me 45 seconds to walk from my room to the beach from my room, and I could literally hear the waves from where I slept. I appreciated that I could keep my items secure in the room and not have to worry about bringing it with me to the beach since I was so close to the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Maintenance staff were great, I had a slight issue with the toilet and it was fixed immediately. Property was well maintained and room was clean. There was a restaurant on the property that served great food, was very happy it was there. Everything is walkable, lots of shopping and great restaurants near by. Manuel Antonio Park was only a 10 minute walk. I would be happy to return and stay here again in the future

My family and I could not have been happier! Direct access to a BEAUTIFUL beach (essentially the same beach as the national park). A small breakfast/lunch restaurant onsite. Monkeys came through during the morning!! Walking distance to some restaurants, groceries, and souvenir stores or a short drive to MANY additional options.

I have been going to this location and bringing visitors for almost 5 years but this last visit was disappointing. Brought friends for first time visit to Costa Rica and after a long drive, the receptionist Karen denied us our room at 1:30 saying ‘it was not ready’. After waiting by the pool for 1 hour, I noticed no rooms were being cleaned. When I went up to the front desk, 2 other receptionists were checking people in. I am disappointed with Karen who had no reason to deny us our room and embarrassed that my friends had to sit hot and tired waiting for a room that did not need to be cleaned.

The location is excellent, an easy walk from the Manuel Antonio National Park, close to the little shops and restaurants in the area, and direct access to the beach. The staff was helpful and the room and facilities were clean. I didn't rate it higher because part of it are a little run down and in need to some repair or renovation. But overall we were pleased with our stay.

I have stayed here twice. It's location cannot be beat! Right on the beach next to Manuel Antonio. The monkeys always come to visit.

Location, location is what this hotel is all about - our Basic Villa (hotel room !) was overlooking and metres from the main beach. Good breakfast service (not Wednesdays). But the whole hotel needs redecoration and fitment updating - then they could double the price !

The location of the property on the beach was wonderful. The attention to the pool condition was also favorable. The grounds and common areas require some attention with some unused equipment displayed in the parking lot.

Right on the beach. Great reception staff. Allow service dog free.

Not luggage service, the clerk never told me if there is an upgrade available, and the clerk of the afternoon shift, he don't want to help in any way, he just ask for the manager, and even so late they try to find a solution, the parking lot doesn't have a connection with the property and is terrible with handicapped people

Very close to beach. Walking to town of Manual Antiono. We felt safe but must be careful always. Staff very helpful with info of area and tours. Small cafe next door open for breakfast and lunch. Great food and Ariel so friendly!!

Nice place

They were in the process of building a ramp walkway to the beach which was not completed so we had to walk over somewhat dirty area step over a ditch of water of which smells rank. The room was clean although disappointing in amenities. No hair dryer, no small face washcloths.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel between Dec. 27-Dec. 29, 2023. We did not have hot water for a shower the first night and Mr. Meilyn Y Moises checked/confirmed the issue in the room. We had a very sweaty day that day and my wife was sick too. So we really needed a hot water shower. Unfortunately, something was wrong with the hot water system. We understand sometime things happen. But we did not receive any response from the manager when we emailed him about any possible compensation for the inconvenience.

I absolutely love staying at Hotel Verde Mar!!! It is clean, right next to a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch, with a fantastic pool, and right on the beach. It is perfect for. Solo or family trip!

Great place for the value. Beach access is the best part. Pool and room were nice and clean. The mattress was a little uncomfortable but looked like they had some new ones to put in. Could use a little updating but the price is right. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
