This is a perfectly located hotel in Alona beach. The staff is super helpful and you are within reach of everything you might need

Great location, right on the beach, but that makes it tricky to access, or get a cab, or drag your luggage as its on the sand!
Service in the hotel is pretty good, although found the restaurant service to be variable. The cocktails were great, the pizza ok, and if you like fresh seafood, that seemed to being going down ok. However, its pretty limited for vegetarians. Portion sizes are good, in some cases too much, but I didnt rate the quality or value compared to other places Id visited in philipinnes.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. My room was small, but we designed and had a minibar & safe. Would have loved a kettle. Wifi was a bit erratic.
All the bea hfront hotels have live music, mainly a girl singing easy listening western songs. No offence to the singers, some of whom have good voices, but would be better if they just put a playlist on. Although, i do like that philipinne businesses sort of 'over employ' compared to UK etc. They dont look so exploitative, but then again, i dont know what they get paid.... and why I always leave a tip.

Place is a okay, it’s very very old. Need serious upgrades inside the room. No service to help you bring luggage’s although they have it advertise on photo or may it seem it looks like the hotel is very near where you can just walk a few steps from the front door and it is not..! Far to walked and must have helped to carry luggages. We did not eat in the restaurant. Yes beach is a few steps.

Property was well located near beach, rooms good, staff, especially at the restaurant, great. I was disappointed there was no pool and also nowhere to sit that wasn’t part of restaurant, I always felt pressure to buy something to eat or drink when I just wanted to read my book.

There is in fact 2 hotels - the rooms in the new part is of corse more modern but small and no windows (!). No pool but 20 meters from beach. Remember : u must carry your luggage 100 meters down the dandy beach so dont bring heavy suitcase. Nice staff

This could easily be a 4 or 5 star property (for the Philippines). However, they are letting it run down. There were spiders and webs by the toilet, with enough spider feces dropped that I knew it hadn’t just taken up residency.
The shower sprayer holder was broken, and they had taped it with what looked like an entire roll of electrical tape, making it unusable.
The air conditioner worked GREAT. But it is stuck on 17C (62F), with no way to control it. And it is ALWAYS on if you are in the room, so you freeze.
The room I booked specifically mentioned a patio/terrace. However, what they mean by this is that there is a walkway to your room that everyone uses. lol
I am a local, I live about 60km away, and booked just to stay close to the airport for a flight. Breakfast was sub-par even compared to where I live. The place could be amazing. It’s super cute. Great location. Rooms are huge and unique. But I think they just need to up their game on the details.

Have stayed here four times. The rooms are modern and clean, the hotel restaurant is right on the beach and the menu is excellent and well priced. At night it is quiet. AC works well and internet is very good. I will continue to come here.

The room was clean and basic and was recently upgraded. However we paid for an ocean view room and none of the rooms are ocean view, they could not refund us any money and just said the the owner made a mistake in Expedia so don't book an ocean view room and pay more.

Once again a place that has nice pictures on the internet probably from when it first opened! It's a low end place with a high price. Not worth the money! Many places minutes away from the beach that are beautiful and half the price. Just rent a little scooter to get around.

This is a no frills hotel, but is on the beach, clean, and has friendly helpful staff. For the price, you can't beat it. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the AC worked great and we felt safe there. The front desk staff was pleasant and helped us arrange transportation. The location is great as you can just walk right out onto the beach and have restaurants all around you. Note that there isn't an ocean view from any of the rooms, but that didn't matter to us since we only slept in the room and spent all of our time on the beach and in the water.

Room is spacious and the restaurant is pretty good. The room however is not very clean. The bathroom and corner of the bedroom smelled of pee. The AC does not work well at all which makes it uncomfortable since Bohol is hot and humid. Ants in the room and cockroaches in the restaurant (apparently common in Bohol however).
Positive is wifi is decent in the room, good service, surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is on the touristy beach next to live music.

Hayahay Resort is a great hotel located right on the beach front of Alona beach. It is great to wake up and walk out of the hotel and be right on the beach front. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms had good AC as well. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Room is basic but clean and a good size with plenty of space for 2 people.

This place was at the beachfront & in the middle of the bay strip so quite strategically located. Food is ok but the mango shakes are really nice. Overall the rooms are spacious & got cleaned every day. There’s a cozy feel to the place but it needs major updating. They have a fantastic rooftop that guests seldom use because it is not marketed enough. The restaurant looked a bit sad & staff does their jobs mechanically, minus the love. So it has a “dampening” feel. A pity because the place is really ok. It just needs a facelift & a refresh to make it “in” again.

Beach front. Nice front desk person named Erol. I mentioned to him that upon checking of the list of items in the snack baskets and refrigerator there are 2 missing items( lipovitan and butter toast and 2 choco drinks are expired. He said he will take note of these.

Nice property. I've stayed here before. The AC works well, and this location is reasonably priced. I like that it's right on the beach too and that McDonalds is nearby if I'm in the mood for American style fast food.

Traveling with a family of 8 can be a challenge. The affordability of the rooms enabled us to have separate space after a long day of fun. Ours was at the end (somewhat) facing the ocean- the view was partially obstructed by the restaurant’s second floor. The room was a bit tinier (about 2 feet) than the rooms towards the other end but did have a balcony (not sure it ifs common or for our use only). The place was kept clean. I appreciated the sign that said the water is not potable. The restaurant wasn’t great- we prefer eating at pyramid. The hot shower worked. They helped me with a flat iron and blow dryer🤗 which is not standard in every room. Very accommodating staff.

The property is right by Alona beach. They also have onsite restaurant. We had dinner in their restaurant and it was pretty good. On the day of checkout we had island hopping tour and they allowed us to checkout little later than usual time which was very nice of them. Only inconvenience is that the property is off road but you can call them to have someone come and bring your luggage. Most of all, being right by the beach and all the restaurants and diving shops was a big plus for us. I would stay here again.
