We needed a place for the night to sleep on our cross country road trip. This was a very remote, tidy boutique style motel a short distance from Palm Springs. We had the smallest room on site which was still a good size, with a comfy king bed, lounge chairs, cool AC and large windows, and more private than the larger rooms facing the pool. The mountain view in the morning was gorgeous. There is a small heater in the bathroom which warms the toilet seat, as a bonus.
Bonus points for room being clean, and very pet friendly property with a pet relief area, cute fire put area with string lights, and gated pool area. The surrounding area was residential which made walking the pup easy. Note that this is the desert, which is mostly brambly shrubs, not grassy, so tread with caution in unpaved areas. We also loved the heated pool and hot tub which were spotlessly clean.
Docked a star because it took several minutes for the hot water to come out of the shower, but when it did, it was VERY hot. Also, I had a mild allergic reaction to the softener they use on their very fluffy towels. Otherwise, it was a restful and restorative stay with good sheets, good pillows, and two blocks from a lovely breakfast cafe (Azure Palms Cafe). Would stay again.

Definitely a 10. Simple elegance in a quiet location. Spotlessly clean. Mineral springs pool and a nice large hot tub . Usually when traveling the quality of bedding is disappointing but we were happy to sleep in high quality sheets and great pillows. I look forward to returning to this Inn when we can stay for 3-4 days as a relaxing vacation. To the owners we say, ‘Well Done!! ‘

No hot water at all. In the evening or morning. Couldn’t shower. Washed hands and face with cold water. WiFi didn’t work in our room. Netflix wouldn’t work. I let them know and they didn’t respond. Twice. If you don’t need WiFi and like cold showers and bad service, you’ll love this place! WAY too much money for nothing.

Nice place with easy pre-check in. Clean room with refrigerator & coffee maker. Comfortable bed, soft, plushy pillows and soft linens. Access to fully stocked kitchen, dining area, outdoor garden seating, barbecue, and enclosed doggy area. Located on a busy street but outdoor sounds did not disturb our sleep; I wear earplugs. Quiet neighborhood. Not much to do nearby. Stater Brothers & Vons are a short drive away. Bathroom is small & could use some tlc; loose sink faucet, needs new caulking, dripping tub faucet. These didn’t bother the functionality. One night for an event in Palm Desert.

This was such a cute place. Small complex but my room was roomy and comfortable. Great dog area! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The shower broke and they were not responsive. No doors on the bedrooms. Air conditioning didn’t work. Shower flooded.

What a hidden gem this place is!!! Do not pass this by, everything from the staff to the rooms and not forgetting the spas are just perfect. Thanks so much for your amazing hospitality and we can not wait to return

What a great place. My only minor complaints were that the window locks didn’t work
And we were on the ground floor. Luckily they supplied us with those small metal clips to put on the window. The beds were ok as were the linens, but the beautiful pool and hot tub more than made up for these minor things.

The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was very nice. There wasn't any dish detergent to wash dishes so I used shampoo. Please use a better quality coffee it tasted like water.

Desert GEM! Loved that it was only a few units and everyone we met was very nice. Pool was great. Hot tub was great until it broke and lost heat but was still relaxing. Great distance to Joshua Tree, which is why we picked it. Lots of good food in the area.
A few things could be improved to make it an EXCELLENT spot.
- Shade for the pool. Not much but I think a little bit would go a long way!
- Towels: the more, the better! I liked being able to get more pool towels, but also wanted additional ones in the room.
- Put a mirror in the bedroom space. The bathroom is tiny and two people can't share the space.
- Get better lamps. The switch was on the cord and there was no place to charge your phone on the nightstand. A lamp with the switch and an outlet on the base would be SUPER helpful.
- Luggage racks needed. We had a 'water bug' visit and wanted to be able to elevate our stuff off the floor. We ended up using the ironing board and the side table.
- Turn off some of the lights at night! We were hoping to see some stars but the outer lights were many and bright. Maybe have star-gazing hour(s)?

Awesome place! Everyone was very friendly, very clean and convenient and best part was that it's super pet friendly. We brought our two fur babies ❤️ only downfall was that we came to escape the fireworks for 4th of july but unfortunately even though its illegal, there was still fireworks around here also the internet and tv were a bit slow but other than that everything was great! 10/10 for sure and we will definitely be coming back ♡

The place is a very small inn and quit Inn. Not much to look from the exterior, but we were pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the place. The rooms are super clean, the bed and bedding was so comfortable. They are a 420 friendly place and have a beautiful sitting area ion the property with a beautiful view of the desert and stars. Patricia the manager was amazing and personable. I felt like family there. Because the place is so small, we often swam with no other guests. It was definitely a quiet and pleasant getaway, none of the ruckus of the bigger resorts. We will stay again.

The atmosphere was lovely. The people were friendly.The fact that all I had to do was punch in a code to get in my room, and the front gate, after a long 15 hr. Trip was the best part.the hot tub and pool were miraculous. The room itself gave us an at home experience even being away from home.

Call me old-fashioned but something about checking into a hotel at night with no human contact felt scary.
Besides that, the room was very clean, neat and cold, not just in temperature but also atmosphere. Very stark. No art at all. Bare floor with two metal framed chairs for a sitting area. Small fridge provided with a handle that came right off in my hand. AC was really going strong. When I tried to adjust it, the remote on the wall fell out and landed on the floor. Luckily, that didn't break. Duct tape on the sides to make it fit into the holder, I guess?
Bathroom soap was damp and the soap itself was a bit mushy. I assumed it had just gotten something dripped on it. Went ahead and used it thinking it was soap, after all.
Was shocked to have an extra $100 tacked onto my prepaid hotel cost. Expedia promptly got to the bottom of it. They charge $100 for a deposit and return it if all is well. I got my refund in a few days. Still, a hotel room cleaning deposit???

Very thin wall separating my bed from the busy road down which trucks and motorcycles thundered all night. Terrible lighting, including ghastly fluorescent light in the kitchenette. Dishes and tableware encrusted with food residue. Bathroom almost literally too small to fit it. Dirt and dead insects covering the windowsill. This used to actually be a "boutique" motel, a long time ago. Now it's just shabby and overpriced. Much better options in town.

This place is a hidden gem. The rooms themselves are sleek, renovated, and approximate a boutique hotel (polished concrete floors, minimal but tasteful decor). The hot tub and pool are fed by the hot springs and are cleaner than the ones at the resorts nearby. The whole inn only has a few rooms so you practically have the place to yourself, which is noteworthy because most other hot springs hotels in town get crowded. The place is enclosed and safe, and has a back patio, a dog run, a spotless communal full kitchen. The staff is professional. I can only guess why this place is priced less than everywhere near it yet has better pools and more peace – it could be just be that it is laid out like a roadside motel. For the love of some fancy soap and better signage they could rebrand themselves as upscale. I stayed in "Comfort Studio, 1 King Bed, Kitchenette, Mountain View" – really beautiful view, but if you sleep light do note it's right alongside a road.

We've been coming to "The Desert Hot Springs Inn, for 6 years. Formerly "The Dog Spa" in Desert Hot Springs. The new ownership at DHSI, were wonderful, gracious and helpful w/ any of our requests. Wonderful and relaxing mineral pool and jacuzzi. Beautifully appointed, desert zen decor, in our king bedroom / bath + kitchenette. Excellent kept grounds for our 2 Frenchie's to roam and for us to enjoy evening sunsets w/glass of wine or whatever beverage you choose. Modern gas fire pit to enjoy and relax by in the evening's if you want. And an outdoor gas grill you can use if you like for a Bbq dinner of your choice. We really enjoyed our stay at Desert Hot Springs Inn. And I would highly recommend to any, dog lover's, whom are well behaved and socialized dogs. FYI; I use my dog's as "therapy dog's " at my job, and they are both very socialized w/ people and children + other dogs.
