Had a lovely evening check in was simple room was clean tidy and spacious had a meal in the bar food was excellent and timely found all staff to be friendly and helpful

Booked the bridal room. Lovely room. Spacious with a lovely view of the lake and a four poster bed. There was an event on at the hotel on the night of our stay but it didn't disturb us. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but edible. Overall a good hotel

Awful out dated hotel in need of full refurbishment, Poor quality mattresses and 30 year old furniture. It's like going back into a time warp.... Never again!!!

The overall impression of the hotel was that although it was clean it looked so tired and out dated. Our bath was badly chipped and marked which was off putting. The tv in the room was tiny and high on the wall. The communal areas looked a little 70's but again were all very clean.

Just off the busy A2 so very convenient and surprisingly quiet. We had a room overlooking the lake which was a pleasant surprise. Hotel has a retro feel.

It’s a little bit faded and has room for improvement, but overall I really really love the venue and the lake and it has a real charm

The stay was really lovely, the room was basic and it need of a little update. Good food and drinks and sitting by the lake was a nice touch. The biggest downfall was being on the 2nd floor with no balcony or terrace.

Helpful and friendly staff who are a credit to this welcoming dog friendly venue. Nice terrace area. Spacious room overlooking fish filled lake that is playground to ducks & moorhens. Added bonus of ceiling fan that was much appreciated on balmy evening.
Other reviews have commented on dated decor but personally liked the décor aesthetic.

Nice hotel with a nice view over the lake. Room was spacious but decor was dated and very old fashioned. Towels were a little threadbear and frayed. Pillows were flat and not very comfortable. TV tiny and a little lost on the wall. Think the hotel needs a refresh. Staff however were pleasant and helpful.

Room was as expected, very dated. However, most importantly, it was very clean. Also, surprisingly very spacious with a gorgeous view of the lake and patio area directly outside our bedroom. Food quality as expected for the price. We were there attending a party with a tribute night. It was packed, with a great atmosphere. We would stay again for similar event.

Staff were not particularly friendly, couldn’t help but feel everything was a chore. At breakfast one member of staff “sounded off” to another staff member about one of the tables. I’m sure this happens but don’t do it in the dining room for other guests to hear! The hotel is situated close to a busy road but with the windows closed it was barely a murmur. I would guess they are trying to save on power costs as the “hot” water was just a little above luke warm.
The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good and for the price (it was about£40 cheaper than the rest) it was good for an overnight stay.

Location was good for me. Hotel maybe needs a bit of updating but the price was very reasonable so I was very happy with my room which was very clean and had a lovely view of the lake

Great setting and easy large car park. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was very clean but the bath was old and badly chipped and corroded. Check out staff were aware of the bad bath condition. Breakfast was acceptable providing you did not have a large appetite.

Staff lovely and very friendly and helpful. Very quiet considering how close to the main road. Okay but all a but tired and the breakfast selection was in plastic containers from the 90's. Needs some tlc and please upgrade the towels.

Stayed for 1 night for a business trip.
Room was dated but still in good condition, bed comfortable and view dedent. Shower was too hot and turning the temperature down turned the pressure down significantly so it was an awkward balance.
If I had to go to Rochester again I would still stay here. Lakeside view is much better than roadside also.

Nice and friendly staff decent size room and facilities I'm 6ft 4 and 18 stone so bed was a little small but doesn't reflect how pleasant stay was and a full breakfast as well would deffo stay again

Priority Investments for me would be new more comfortable beds, update bathrooms and towels are too small and thin.
Breakfast is decent and starts at 6.30 so timing is great..

Hotel feels like it’s paused in time from 1972! Walls paper thin so you can hear everyone talking in the next room. Smallest TV in the world. Only 2 thin pillows on a double bed. Breakfast was well below average with burnt deep fried sausage and hash brown.

Very dated in the layout of the room, the fan on the ceiling sounded like it was going to fly off at any second when on. No plug sockets near the beds.

Service and room good. Food standard in evening needs distinct improvement. Tasteless gammon. Dry pies cold veg. Crisps etc not behind bar where they should be but in a vending machine!!! Why
