Súper great staff always attentive and the hotel was great as well. Located centrally to old town where you can walk around and enjoy great food, stores and sites. Great stay!

An amazing place to stay in Cartagena. Sophia Hotel only has 15 rooms or so, but the staff is so present and helpful that you feel like you are at a much bigger property. My room was large and lovely with a great view over the adjoining plaza. AC was great too -- very important in Cartagena. Best of all, the location is perfect. Across the street from a quiet plaza, around the corner from one of the most busy ones, near everything. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the Sophia hotel overall but a few things fell short. The staff was excellent. From the front desk to the staff on site. A special shout out to Belky. She's a gem at the hotel. The hotel is close proximity to everything in the walled city. Great rooftop area with amazing views. My biggest issue was the plumbing situation. Multiple times the shower did not get warm and took several calls down to maintenance to adjust. The toilet also didnt have adequate pressure to flush. Our room also had an odor during the stay. We saw a crew outside the hotel working on plumbing issues, which may have contributed to the problems. Overall an excellent property, but these issues were a slight negative on the trip.

We spent 5 nights at Sophia Hotel in the Haggia (Terrace) suite. The hotel itself is in a great location and walkable to all restaurants and attractions. In terms of noise levels, the hotel IS situated across a public square and there was a festival taking place the last few days of our stay. It did get loud at times but by 11pm the music/performances stopped. Same with the rooftop lounge. They'd play music during the day and evening, but by 10-11pm it was quiet. The only thing that could be improved is the furniture in the patio itself. They need to be replaced and the retractable shade was removed/missing. I desperately wish it wasn't as at times it was way too hot/sunny to be out on the patio. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The staff are very friendly and our room was left spotless every day. We would consider this hotel again if we were to come back to Cartagena.

Great hotel inside the wall, close to everything. Very good customer service, attentive staff, nice breakfast buffet with chef for hot orders included. Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. They even added a nice welcoming touch for our anniversary. Nice view at the rooftop pool and good ambience altogether. Reccomended

Room was clean and large and was maintained by a courteous and professional staff. Waitstaff and lobby personnel were fantastic who went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

Perfectly located within the rim of the walled old town. Walkable to all main attractions and great restaurants. Spotless rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.

My partner and I had the most amazing time at Sophia Hotel. The breakfast was AMAZING!! The staff were EXCELLENT. They were so patient and helpful with us. Helped us to book tours, did a birthday room decor set up and were very responsive on WhatsApp whenever we messaged (no matter the time of the day). I would definitely recommend here to anyone. You would not be disappointed.

Across from the plaza, loved the people watching, the breakfast was incredible! Such a great location and the communication while trying to book was super efficient.

Nice staff, very nice room with huge deck that was next to roof top terrace and more importantly faced Adguana Square that made for loud techno msg until 2:00am The hotel roof top was fine and dint bother me but the loud speakers playing disco, techno music until the wee hours was a total drag. The staff did offer me an interior room the last night for sleeping which I appreciated. If you don’t mind a pulsating base late into the night you should be good to go.

My Room was awful, absolutely NOT what I paid for. Noise from the roof top bar went right in my room !! I was offered earplugs i'm no Kidding. I even had to repair the TV's to get them to work !! No room at the hotel roof top Bar or Pool because they reserved all the seating to a group of Men that weren't even staying at the Hotel !! You couldn't pay me to stay there !!

Great boutique hotel in the walled city. Very easy to get around on foot. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance. Many of the tourist attractions are easily accessible on foot. The service and property are top notch!! This is not the cheapest place to stay by any means. Costs are on par with United States.

Great place to stay. Perfectly located in the walled city with easy access to all the area has to offer. Which is good because it’s hot. Staff was very friendly and the complementary breakfast was well above par. I found the hot water didn’t get hot but that doesn’t bother me. I mention it only that it might bother others. Overall, it’s excellent.

We stayed at the Sophia for 3 nights. Our room was very large but had a view of nothing, which was disappointing. We were also near an air space that allowed all the music from the rooftop bar to come into our room. We asked several times and they finally reduced the volume. The staff was as helpful as possible, and, for the most part, very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee! The fittings in the bathroom were very modern and up-to-date.
