The staff service was EXCELLENT; always happily willing to help in any way. The rooms were GREAT; spacious, super clean, functional with everything you need, including a little balcony with a hammock (Junior Studio room). Also, the fact that the hotel includes parking (limited spaces), was very helpful, since streets are narrow and didn't feel good about parking our rental car there. Not all hotels offer this. The area around the property felt safe, and had many dining options within walking distance. I would definitely stay in this hotel again! P.S. The only tiny wrinkle was, that there is an event venue a few doors down. The Saturday night we stayed there, music from that venue was very loud. We always travel with a (sleep) sound machine and earplugs, so that helped =)

The property is absolutely beautiful, unfortunately they could not accommodate a party of six and had to pay for another room. It was all siblings, and we were hoping to hang out throughout our stay. We offered to pay more, but they would not allow it!!

Great location, walkable distance to Oaxaca's downtown area, Santo Domingo Church, dining, shopping, yet secluded on a tranquil alley. Rare match of location, excellent customer service, superb facilities and attention to detail. My wife and I had a terrific time at El Callejon. We visited other hotel facilities in the area and we think it will be very difficult to match the quality of this facility. Definitively a must have experience while in Oaxaca,

A most beautiful property tucked into the Xochimilco neighborhood and walkable to the sites around Oaxaca. The attention to detail in the art and architecture of the property is impressive, and the gardens and outdoor spaces are welcoming and peaceful. Each and every staff person was very friendly and helpful in offering suggestions of what to do and see for our first visit to Oaxaca. We loved the style of our room, the delicious daily breakfast, the bar in the afternoon and the general ambiance. We highly recommend this boutique hotel. You won't be disappointed!

Our second stay was lovely, as before. The location is a short walk from Centro, which may be less convenient for older travelers. Light sleepers or those who enjoy late mornings should choose an upstairs unit. Also, be aware that the hotel now allows families with children.

This is one of the finest establishments we've stayed in. Gorgeous property near the Oaxacac historic city center but off the beaten path so it's quiet and charming. Outstanding, knowledgeable and helpful staff, outstanding accommodations overall. Ten thumbs up all around.

Very convenient, friendly staff. Junior suite was spacious. Hotel is attractive. Excellent housekeeping. Great shower.The only thing, room for improvement is breakfast could have been better. Coffee service was a little slow and there was a daily cake that was dry, bread served without butter.

Over the course of our stay in Oaxaca we stayed at 3 hotels. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of staying here first and spent the rest of our time missing this amazing place. Even the single rooms are huge and the two room suite feels like a large apartment with big outdoor space. The common gardens are beautiful and a haven of calm from the busy streets of town. The included breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The cocktails at the bar were wonderful and reasonably priced. The entire staff from the aptly named Dulce at check in through every member of the team we met were kind and helpful. I hate to say this but the rates seem beyond reasonable for what you get (our other hotels were more for smaller rooms and less charm) and I'm already looking forward to returning.

What did i not like?! this is probably the best hotel ive ever stayed at. the best part, the staff! they went above and beyond every single day. brought food to our room, answered all our questions, gave recommendations about the area, called a doctor for us when we got sick. there absolutely nothing wrong i have to say about this place. its gorgeous, the food and drinks were amazing! i will recommend everyone here!

A beautiful property with very warm and helpful staff. Walkable to all of Centro. A definite favorite in Mexico or anywhere else!

The hotel's entrance is in an alley and relatively nondescript. But, once the door opens you are transported into a tropical courtyard. The front desk staff are fantastic. My travel partner was celebrating his birthday, and they arranged an in-room dessert to sirprise him. The included breakfast options are really expansive, and the courtyard bar is the perfect place to grab a cocktail before heading out to dinner.

Is there a way to give this hotel more than five stars? There really should be... This place was incredible. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the idyllic grounds, to the beautifully designed, cozy, functional rooms. I wish there was an El Callejon in every city and that I there was a David in in every city.

The hotel has a good combination of old and modern. Room size good and overall service of staff very good. The only downside is that the hotel is situated next to an event hall, played loud music until 2.00 am made it difficult to sleep. The hotel management did their best but to no avail. Owners of the hotel need to resolve this situation
