Right down town stay. Easy walking distance to most things and rental cars available for those things further away. Pick up at the ferry building went much better once I found the dedicated motel phone inside the building ( no cell service).

Good location, beautiful view, reasonable price, very poor front desk staffing/service, room was clean other than a very worn out and stained carpet, continental breakfast not bad. Overall, pretty typical for small town Alaska. Better to keep your expectations low than expect a lot and be disappointed.

Had two rooms booked for a boys trip and have zero complaints about the property or staff. Rooms were clean and modern and comfortable. Will be back next time I'm in Haines.

This motel was conveniently located in the heart of Haines, had clean and cozy rooms and offered a free continental breakfast for the morning after (which was amazing and had everything we wanted!) as well as stunning ocean views. The staff was both extremely friendly and accommodating. Our next visit to Haines will be here!

The staff at Captain's Choice are warm, helpful and welcoming. They helped me figure out my travel plans as they often change due to weather. It's also convenient because they offer rental cars as well.
It's an older building, but my bed was very comfortable and I had a terrific view of the water and mountains. The continental breakfast is pretty basic with yogurt, cereal, fruit and frozen waffles/pancakes.

Loved the view of the bay from our room and the beautiful flowers around the exterior of the hotel. Manager was very welcoming and devoted to the hotel. Breakfast was good!

I was given a room on the lower part of the property, walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the next rooms,,
I had to hear a couple arguing, the guy in the next room snored all night and kept me up all night, the couple in the next room got back to their room at 2 am, above my room was a deck and heard people walking around most of the night

Nice people. Decent and satisfying breakfast. All in all pretty good, but a bit noisy in the morning, especially if you get a room sharing a wall with the lobby.
And with many people traveling at all hours, they could be inconsiderate and be making noise just outside your room both late and early.

I've stayed at Captain's Choice many times over the past several years. The property is well maintained and we always have great service and care. Captain's Choice is locally owned and operated. Wonderful view too of waterfront and mountains.

Spent 2 night's here.... great little hotel in Haines. Walking distance to stopping and food. Staff friendly, even rented a car for our stay from the hotel. Beds super comfortable! (Best beds for a hotel I've been in and i travel alot) stayed in a 2 double on harbor side, lots of room, 2 fans, fridge and coffee pot. Window opens for nice breeze....
View amazing, room clean.... only down spot was tv had low signal and reception was bad, carpet needs cleaning and toilet was not super clean... will stay again....

Very much enjoyed meeting the helpful and friendly staff at check in and check out. The rooms are dated, but clean. The bed was quite comfortable. Was quite warm in the room, but with window open and provided fan, it was manageable. The complimentary breakfast was very basic - mostly bread and cereals. Enjoyed having our takeout supper on the deck overlooking the water - would be nice to have a few tables out there for guests to use on the deck. Parking was easy - right outside the room!

Cute, quaint old property. Everything you need for a few nights' stay. Breakfast included in price; has mini fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee pot in rooms.
