Half moon bay property is very bare bones. Do not come here wanting to be pampered. The rooms are very basic. No Tv, just a bed, couple end tables and a small fridge to put your water in. With that being said the Staff was super friendly the grounds were clean, the surrounding were very quite a couple blocks from the main town center. It was nice to decompress and spend time in the Ocean which is just feet away from the resort. The snorkeling was great as the reef you can see from your room and walk right out to it. With that being said Half moon bay was exactly what I was looking for to get away from work and recharge with the beauty of the ocean at my toes.

Halfmoon has been my go to place for several years. Love the authenticity, the calm, the access to the bay directly from the room. I'm very sad that the place is now for sale. It won't be the same anymore.

Wow! Location location location

Half moon resort was perfect for us. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Our room was right on the beach - it was very quiet at night with the sounds of waves very relaxing. It’s within a short walking distance to the main street with many cafes, restaurants and travel services.

Budget friendly room with a 5 star view and location. Would definitely stay here again.

I had such an amazing time. The hotel was cozy and the ac worked well. We are right on the bay so we did plenty of snorkleing. The deck was great to dry out dive gear as well. They really take care of this place and i would recommned it to anyone. Hope to visot again soon! Renee is amazing!!

Incredible snorkeling right off the shore and secluded portion safe from boats. Off the back porch we saw eel, stingray, parrotfish, flounder, trumpetfish, and countless other varieties. We will stay here when we return. They also arranged transport, could not have been happier

Amazing experience, beautiful rustic cabin right in the water, walking distance to a wonderful downtown with excellent choices for food and drinks. You can walk right out your door and into the water for fantastic snorkeling, friendly dive shop right at the end of the driveway. Overall experience 10/10

This was my second stay at Half Moon Resort. The new cabins are fabulous, as are the owners. The location cannot be beat - walk right out of your room and step into the water for snorkeling. Easy walking distance to West End yet private and relaxing. Thanks for another amazing holiday!

This is a small family-owned resort consisting of cozy cabin-style units which are comfortable and well-equipped with good AC, hot/cold running water, and a small refridgerator. It is showing its age -- if you are looking for a luxury resort, then go to one of the big self-contained resorts in West Bay. If you are looking for a quiet, yet easily walkable (to West End dive shops, stores, and restaurants) place to stay with a fantastic view and access to Half Moon Bay right outside your door, then this is the place.

The view is fantastic with good snorkeling in the bay. The rooms are good sized and rustic. If you are coming to stay here expect the bare minimum. The sheets are stained and the towels have holes in them. There is virtually no room service. We got it twice and it consisted of sweeping the room and making the bed. We had to ask for room service. We will stay somewhere else for the same money.

This property is perfect for snorkeling and relaxing.

Great little place, out of the way and on the water, yet the main street with restaurants and shops and dive centres are a couple minutes walk. The resort's dive centre appears to be closed now, but there are lots of nearby options on the mainstreet. Small private beach, shade available, nice snorkeling or swim. The restaurant on site is also closed, but Loreta's, and a baleada (like a breakfast wrap) takeout, are near, and you can request a fridge for snacks. Bottled water is provided to refill your water bottles. We were in one of the rustic cabins, nothing fancy, facing the water and beach, and it was perfect for us. There are some larger and newer cabins a well. There was AC available, but we never turned it on as there was always a nice breeze at night. The surroundings are like a small nature reserve, with hummingbirds, woodpeckers, small deer, and a couple of the endangered Agouti regularly crossed the property. Owned by Hondurans. On Departure day, I had left a book in the room for their book exchange, but without an explanatory note, so the owner, René, thought I had forgotten it, and contacted me to make arrangements to deliver it to the airport. I thought that was very thoughtful, Thank you René! We would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed here several times. West End shops and restaurants are just minutes away on foot. The snorkling at the resort is great and I love the quiet location.

Beautiful private beach front property and premier snorkeling. The owner Rene was very friendly and helpful. Cabins are rustic but clean. Unfortunately bar and restaurant were closed.

Beautiful place. Quaint little beach cabins with a nice reef to snorkel. The owner is very hospitable and friendly. I will definitely return.

I just want to rave about this place! Lovely little cabin on the beach, lots of amazing wildlife and the owner is really great! I had an issue with a male that was traveling in our group and needed to get away from him quickly. They have gone out of their way to ensure I not only got away but that there was no place for him here. I've felt very safe here and can't say enough good things about what they've done to help me.

I had a great visit here. Stayed lots of time on the hammock, snorkeled outside in the clear bay and enjoyed breakfast by the water.
