Back for a second time. Could become my go to pub in this aria.

Comfortable modern rooms with excelent foos served in resteraunt

I didn't realise I'd have to request a room clean on a daily basis, so even though the Team had been in to replace towels and empty the bin, the bed remained unmade and the cup was still dirty. Bathroom was far too cold for use at night and in the morning as no central heating, just a heated towel rail. Bathroom floor was covered in hair strands which definitely were not from my head - one of my pet hates - which could only mean the floor hadn't been swept or mopped recently. No water in the room. There was a spare restaurant chair and fan left outside my room door both nights. It's a good thing that my case wasn't larger as i may have struggled to pass these. But as a partial recompense for the bedroom non- clean, Gary did give me 2 complimentary bottled waters the last night. Staff are absolutely lovely, but you can see where there are cost cutting activities. The online express checkout and pay appeared to take my card details but then the screen showed an error on the final page and although i could see the transaction on my card and Google pay app, i was informed the checkout had not completed as it was still in pending status. As i didnt want to pay twice, i asked for a callback if it didnt go through within the next day. Not greeat first stay impressions unfortunately.

Black mould on seals in the shower tiled area and the showerheads ruined an otherwise clean, bathroom.Bits of black mould came off when using the shower despite running the water to try to clean it. The extractor did not work so this may have contributed to the problem. Reported at checkout. Lovely setting and very cheery waitresses and bar girls. Limited menu. Breakfast and evening meals more expensive than similar hotels

Lovely pub, with large bedrooms. Great breakfasts, a perfect place to stay.

Fantastic room for the price and residents only restaurant that was nice and quiet away from mane restaurant a nice touch, very freindly staff.

We enjoyed our stay but the road noise put us off so if staying again would ask for a quieter room. The room was tired and had some loose/missing fittings plus mould on the shower sealant and cobwebs up high (out of reach). Bed was super comfy and staff were great. Breakfast (full english) was superb and could only have been improved by complimentary fresh orange.

Overly cold in main pub area. Especially at breakfast- also, waited a long time for breakfast to be served.

Food and drink were excellent, staff were cheerful and friendly. Fence is a bit isolated but ideal for those that wish to chill.

Staff were all amazing and freindly. Rooms just need a bit of work to bring them up to standard.

The warmest welcome fantastic staff . The quietest hotel I’ve every stayed in very sound proof rooms and no passing traffic .. thick blackout curtains amazing showers

A very pleasant one night stay at Forest, Fence. our room was excellent and newly refurbished. Modern clean bathroom with shower. Orla Keily products. Tea and coffee in our room. The room was situated on the ground floor with easy access to the restaurant and car parking. Freshly cooked breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were both excellent. Highly recommended. We will definitely return!

Great location and beautiful surroundings.The room was lovely but exceptionally hot, no air con and when asked for a portable fan was told none and where on order! Had the worst sleep ever and spoiled my stay. Additionally, I had dinner in the restaurant and my starter was given to another diner and when i did get mine it wasn’t great, greasy and hard. The staff where nice enough but the time taken to get dinner served was too long. Over 25 minutes to get a starter isn’t great in my eyes. Having said that breakfast was great, thankfully!Overall don’t think I’d hurry back…

5* - this is a great example of a quality hotel. I use this one frequently for business travel across the Yorkshire dales, Lancashire and North Yorkshire. Free parking, free WiFi, incredible food, very high standard in rooms and very helpful friendly staff.

There was some low level noise in our room from music in the bar below. This stopped at about 22.30 though. This was the only drawback and in particular breakfast was excellent.

Quick overnight stay for a wedding nearby. Rooms spotless. Staff friendly. Breakfast excellent.

Lovely find for us as we have never been to this area for overnight stay. The price seems to be the going rate nowadays and it was a Saturday, great that breakfast was included. Thank you
