we checked in late there was somebody at the desk and we got a ground for unit like we had asked for

Excellent check in, Candice at the front desk was easily the friendliest and most helpful check-in I’ve had anywhere. Very clean and accommodating hotel, Will definitely be back next time we’re in Salem.

I go to a truck show every year. Our main place to stay is the Holiday Inn. Great location, great staff. They took time to comment on and appreciate the trucks and impromptu truck show at the hotel the night before.

I will not be staying here, ever again. Horrible customer service. I had called prior to my stay to insure that I could check in at 8am a soon as I arrived to Salem do to me having a picture session for my graduation. They made a mistake and ended up not receiving my room I had to wait to check in till 3pm. Just horrible communication.

Easy and convenient location for our trip, but lobby was loud, breakfast was extremely limited (we had to get a second breakfast elsewhere for our teens) and hotel as a whole was minimally comfortable. The gym was great though.

I loved how clean the room was, the laundry room available for guests and the Dove products in the bathroom. I was so pleased with this stay as it was just a quick trip to visit family and the hotel was a nice “home away from home” for the weekend.

This most certainly was the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in by far. Everything looked brand new and everything worked the way it should. Even the bathroom hot water was quick to use.
Only minor quibble would be the lack of lighting in the room. This has become quite the norm in modern hotels as they've taken measures to save energy, but surely modern LED lights could be added without a notable difference.

The automated phone line says that all Holiday in express are dog friendly. Dogs only need be declared at check in. And pay a $25 fee. When I called to say we’d be checking in late. I was then told there’s no pets allowed. Period. Not even service dogs. Our $200 room was also non refundable. So we drove all the way home that night. Very unhappy.

This place is clean. The beds are comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional. The only down side was my room had a connecting door to the room next to me. Not sound proof at all. The other party was very noisey and it was hard to sleep.

There was no dedicated driveway into hotel. In n out line blocked one entry. Had to drive around to other side through Panera parking lot to enter. Small inconvenience but seems weird.

The young Lady that checked me in is a Peach! Couldn't quite make out her name tag but it started with a "C" I think.
Made a good restaurant recommendation. Very sweet and helpful. I will be back.

We always stay here when we’re visiting family. We liked it because it’s clean and well kept. Unfortunately this time the pool is not open for renovation. So, our kids was a little disappointed about it. It’s also nice that this hotel is close to shops and lots of food places to choose from. We will definitely stay here again.

Pool was being renovated during our stay. We booked here because of the indoor pool for my kids. Expedia should have had this information but unfortunately the property did not update its online travel agencies.

Upon arrival I was greeted by a lady with such incredible customer service, I wish I got her name so I could put it out here. She was very happy, friendly and informative about the area. Check in was a breeze and I was in my room within 10 minutes of pulling in.
