Andrew is the most wonderful innkeeper!

Wonderful. Host was fantastic and gave great dining and tour recommendations. A museum setting. Highly recommend.

Charming inn close to “downtown” Bar Harbor and Acadia. No need to search for a place to park since the Inn is so close to many restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious and we enjoyed the smart TV which allowed us to watch a wide variety of streaming services. Wish more hotels and Inns would have this. Breakfast was great with a different selection each day and there were always options for people with food allergies. We would definitely stay again if we’re in the area

Beautiful property and wonderful staff. The handmade breakfasts every morning were delicious, and the owner provided fantastic local options for food, hiking, and visiting that were off the beaten path. Absolutely recommend staying here.

Staff was very friendly and there if you needed anything. Location was close to downtown and plenty of off street parking.

This was our first stay at a b&b. Andrew & the staff set the bar so high I don’t know if we’d ever be able to stay elsewhere. The property is stunning, impeccably maintained, our room was very well appointed & HUGE!! Very walkable to all the local restaurants & shopping. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of offerings. Really a fantastic stay. Wouldn’t change a thing.

The staff was extremely helpful providing restaurant recommendations and places to hike in Acadia. The breakfast and happy hour needs improvement. The food is acceptable but not great. The room was nice and very clean. It’s an easy walk to restaurants and shopping.

What a wonderful stay! The staff were very kind and accommodating (we took a wrong turn on a trail and had to check out late…) The owner was on hand in the morning and was a wealth of information for hiking trails that are off the beaten path as well as suggestions are local dining. The home is lovely, breakfast feels like you are surrounded by old friends and late afternoon wine and cheese are just a few of the personal touches that Thornhedge Inn has to offer.

Cons: room off the main house, 1 window did not provide privacy, kept curtains drawn, , the other window overlooked unkempt property. Room lacked charm one would anticipate when staying at B&B. Breakfast adequate…we were not offered all that was available…found this out as we leaving dining area and another couple sat down. No ice machine. TV limited programming. Pros: staff pleasant, lots of opportunities to walk around and enjoy atmosphere of Bar Harbor. Great restaurants, charming area, and of course Arcadia National Park.

This is an older property, so expect the bed to be a bit soft and things to be a bit creaky. The innkeeper is nice. There is parking on site.

While the common spaces were well furnished our room was weak. While vacuum clean the carpet needed either a deep cleanor replacement. The room smelled like someone had smoked in it sometime in the past (stale smoke smell).

Nice room, had a unique feel to it. Close proximity to main street and lots of shops and restaurants.

Very friendly staff! Felt like I was staying at my own home. Breakfast was home-made and amazing! Comfortable room with neat furnishings!

Perhaps our having come to Thornhedge from an exceptional New Hampshire inn clouded our expectations. However, the extreme Covid precautionary measures hurt the ambiance and hospitality here. The room was sparse (no alarm clock or comfort toiletries), interaction with fellow guests discouraged, had to beg for coffee, brown bag breakfast, no afternoon refreshments of any kind, housekeeping not allowed our room, peeling paint exterior everywhere. It is a shame because this lovely inn could upgrade to become one of the very best.

Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Checking in and access was super easy. Walking distance to downtown for food and only a few minute drive to multiple park entrances and visitor center. Will come again after covid restrictions lifted!
