This is a lovely place to stay in a lovely place to visit. Whether you are exploring San Juan island and its many spectacular historic and quirky places (check out the English and American camps from the Pig War and the McMillen Mausoleum), or fabulous natural splendor (the state, county and national parks all provide excellent views and hikes for all levels of fitness), or simply relaxing, Snug Harbor is ideally located in a quiet calm bay at the Northwest corner of the island. The cabins offer great views and privacy and the property is only a few minutes drive to Roche Harbor with its excellent dining options. For the other islands, I recommend staying in Anacortes and going out and back on the ferry on the same day, but you really should try to stay over a night or two on San Juan itself, and I can't imagine a better place to stop over than Snug Harbor.

It was a wonderful weekend away with my mom and sisters. It was so nice to wake up to a water view every morning. It was so peaceful. It was plenty big for the 4 of us, very clean, cozy and all the amenities that you would need. The down side is that it didn’t have a restaurant so you would have to drive about 10-15 minutes to town but we were totally fine with that. Definitely want to go back!

Our second time here and can’t wait to return. This beautiful place has been so wonderful. Its clean, quiet serene. Animals everywhere, great kayaking, came home with many beautiful memories and photos.

I think that a swing area for children would be a great idea. Lots of kids there during our stay. Also plastic wrap and foil in cabins would really be nice

It's a great place for a quiet and relaxing vacation! if you love to stay in the nature and want to avoid those busy areas from Friday Harbor, this is the place! The 2-bedroom cabin was neat and clean, filled with kitchenware (3-bedroom cabin includes dish washer!!) and a grill. Staffs are definitely helpful and friendly! We really enjoy our 3-night stay there!

Absolutely incredible experience! Probably the cleanest establishment we've ever visited and the accommodations were exceptional. Everything from the room layout to the breathtaking views. Also worth noting, we were in one of the suites above the lobby/cafe. These are the only attached units. Despite this, it was so quite we forgot we had a neighbor. This was our first trip to Friday Harbor/SJI, and mostly because of the Snug Harbor Resort, we plan to return regularly.

Great place in a secluded bay. One bedroom unit has everything we needed. We didn't use the kitchen, but should have as restaurants are scarce in March which is still off-season. The bed sheets are a bit rough, some higher threadcount would be better and some bigger pillows. We really enjoyed the view right outside the huge windows. The office closes at 5, so plan ahead because that's the store and where the movies, books, games are located. Would definitely come back again.

We really enjoyed our two night stay last week. The cabin is very relaxing and you can't beat the view from the deck. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We hope to be back soon.

This place is amazing. The cabins are very nice, and fairly new. The hosts were very friendly. The resort furnishes propane for barbecuers and firewood for outdoor fire pits.

I visited SHR during the winter season to avoid crowds, but it will be nice to visit SHR during summer. It is in a beautiful, isolated area with many things to do with family.

Just beautiful inside and out of cabins- 2 bedroom we stayed in felt spacious with enough comfortable room for sitting by fire place stove with gorgeous views- loved the outdoor fire rings and games on the water front- guest service 5 star as was everything- we absolutely will return to this memorable place !

Nice place to stay, was clean and quiet. The cabins and grounds are nicely kept. There is no restaurant at the facility, it's not an issue though as the cabins are equipped with kitchens. If wanting to dine out, there plenty of options in Friday Harbor. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and would stay at Snug Harbor Resort again!

Absolutely beautiful location. We loved the simple cabin that fit in perfectly with the surroundings. So many thoughtful touches. Two choices for heat inside. A cute iron stove or more modern heat/ac wall unit. Outside fire rings Nice wall art of local scenery. A kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal. A little store & coffee shop for extras. BBQs. Large pots by dock to cook crabs you catch in the bay. Fun birdwatching Eagles to Bufflehead Ducks, etc. All the staff members we met were very friendly & helpful. We were attending a nearby family Thanksgiving get together and plan to stay here again.

Everything about the place is wonderful! The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable and well equipped. The staff was accommodating and helpful. Qili suggested lunch at Lime Kiln. We took her advice and ended up not only having a good lunch but discovering the historic town of Roche Harbor. What a treat! We hope to be back soon.
